## Crunchbase Reviews
  ### 1. Indispensable for Market Research, But Needs More Local Data

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Schiller B. | Business Intelligence Specialist, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

I use Crunchbase every day for market research. I work in the tech industry and need to track companies, funding rounds, and competitors. Crunchbase saves me a ton of time. The funding data is what I rely on most. I can see every round a company has raised, who invested, and how much. Before Crunchbase, I was piecing this together from news articles and press releases. That took forever. Now I just pull up the company profile and everything is there. The filtering is also really useful. I can narrow down by industry, company size, location, funding amount — whatever I need. I build targeted lists for prospecting and market analysis in minutes instead of hours. I also like that Crunchbase tracks executive changes. If a company gets a new CEO or CFO, I see it right away. That helps me understand if a company is stable or going through leadership turmoil. The interface is clean. Not flashy, but easy to navigate. I can find what I need without clicking through five menus. The ecosystem view is another feature I appreciate. Crunchbase connects companies to their investors, founders, and competitors. That gives me a much better picture of the industry landscape than just looking at one company in isolation. Overall, Crunchbase is my go-to for company research. It's not perfect, but it does exactly what I need for my daily work.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

I mainly dislike three main points about Crunchbase in daily use. First, it lacks sufficient detailed operational business information for most local European small and medium-sized tech firms, with few actual project cases and specific service details available, forcing me to spend extra time verifying information elsewhere. Second, its existing filter tags are too general, lacking finely divided industry labels for local IT sectors, so I have to manually sort out plenty of irrelevant screened results. Third, the data update speed for mid-level staff changes and latest business moves is sometimes slow, and its data export modes are too limited without customizable output formats, which adds extra workload to my later report sorting and data arrangement work.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Crunchbase, my research process was a mess. I'll give you a few specific examples. Problem one: information scattered everywhere. If I wanted to learn about a company, I had to check their website, read news articles, look at LinkedIn, search for funding announcements on TechCrunch, and piece everything together myself. That took maybe 20 to 30 minutes per company. When I needed to research 20 companies, that was a full day of work. Crunchbase solves this by putting everything in one place. Funding history, key executives, company size, competitors — it's all on one page. Now researching a company takes maybe five minutes. That saves me hours every week. Problem two: missing funding announcements. I track startups and scale-ups in the tech industry. Knowing when a company raises money is important. It tells me they have cash to spend and are probably hiring. Before Crunchbase, I relied on Google Alerts and news feeds. I missed rounds all the time. Small rounds don't always make the news. Crunchbase solves this by tracking funding directly from SEC filings, press releases, and other sources. I see rounds that never get covered by tech blogs. That gives me a more complete picture of the market. Problem three: manual lead filtering. I build targeted lists of companies for sales and partnership outreach. Before Crunchbase, I would start with a big list and manually check each company against my criteria. Industry? Location? Funding amount? Company size? That was tedious and error-prone. Crunchbase solves this with advanced filters. I select industry, location, funding range, employee count, and growth stage. The platform shows me only the companies that match. That turns a two-hour manual task into a five-minute filter. Problem four: understanding company stability. When a company loses its CEO or CFO, that's a red flag. Before Crunchbase, I had no easy way to track executive changes. I might hear about a big departure through the news, but smaller changes went unnoticed. Crunchbase solves this by tracking executive changes in real time. I can see who joined, who left, and when. That helps me assess whether a company is stable or in turmoil before I decide to partner with them or invest time. How this benefits me. I spend less time hunting for information and more time actually using it. My research is more complete because I'm not missing funding rounds or executive changes. My lead lists are more accurate because the filters work. I make better strategic decisions because I have better data. Crunchbase saves me maybe 10 hours a week. That's the real benefit.

  ### 2. Reliable Market Intelligence with Some Search Limitations

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vanwye P. | Lead Generation Specialist, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

I like Crunchbase for its trustworthy, real-time company and market data that's centralized in one place. It's great not needing to jump between LinkedIn, company websites, and other sources. The data is consistently updated, especially around funding announcements, leadership changes, company headcount, and industry categories, making our B2B prospecting more accurate and efficient. I appreciate how easy it is to filter and build targeted lead lists based on company stage, growth signals, location, or industry, which helps our team prioritize high-potential prospects quickly. The initial setup of Crunchbase was also really straightforward and easy.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

The search filters can feel limited for very specific B2B targeting, and sometimes the data for smaller or private firms is not as complete or up-to-date as we'd like. We've also noticed that contact accuracy varies — some emails or titles are outdated, which hurts our outreach efficiency.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crunchbase provides reliable, up-to-date business data, streamlining company research, and lead prospecting. It offers centralized, real-time information for building qualified lead lists, competitor research, and tracking market trends, making our prospecting faster, and more efficient.

  ### 3. Comprehensive, Intuitive, but Pricey Insights Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Klaudiusz I. | SDR, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

I like Crunchbase because it's very intuitive and makes it easy to filter data with any filters I want, like region, company size, and industry. I can also easily create my own lists or export data. It covers almost every single company or startup that I've looked for and includes predefined lists like top startups in Europe from specific industries. The browser extension works great, showing live data when checking companies on LinkedIn. The initial setup was very easy, so I didn't need additional support or tutorials.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

I would say sometimes not every single data was updated there, especially regarding companies that really recently got new funding, but probably a matter of time for the data to be there as well. Let’s be honest, it's not a cheap tool.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Crunchbase for analyzing startup funding and investors. It provides real, verified information about funding stages and investors. Its intuitive design and comprehensive data make filtering easy and cover nearly every company or startup I look for. The browser extension is great for live data.

  ### 4. Great Tool for Selling to Startups, Some UI Issues, and Contact Data Can Be Sparse

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ronan M. | Director, Industry Research & Analytics, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Crunchbase is built for people who want to sell things to startup companies but needs to get a list of the companies first. If you want to do that, this is a good tool. It also allows you to export lists to excel or your CRM, and take notes on the companies that you have contacted. Crunchbase is not great at generating the names of people to contact, there are other tools for that. But if you have a widget to sell, and your task is to find startup companies in specific industries like environmental consulting, aeroplane manufacturing, and dentists, all in 3 European Union countries, this data company will get you the names of those companies.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

The Crunchbase UI is not great. I want to export lists with the same columns in the same order each time, but I have to build that list manually every single time rather than build the template once. Also, I have asked my relationship manager multiple times about allowing tags, or building a list and then asking "What are similar companies?"

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work for a firm that is trying to get startup companies in a specific industry to buy something. We do not know the names of all the companies in the industry. This is the best data resource for that task.

  ### 5. Essential for Lead Generation, But Needs Better Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charles C. | Senior Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

I like the volume of data and the numerous fields that Crunchbase offers. I use the data boost feature to get more firmographic information from companies, which helps me see details like web traffic and IT spending. This information allows me to tailor what my company provides to different segments of my subscribers, making some data more valuable to certain groups than others.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Some of the steps after I get that list of companies to look into are still more manual than I would like. I'm currently on a Crunchbase Pro subscription as opposed to a business plan, so I don't get access to things like their predictive scores. I also wish that I had easier access to or could more deeply integrate what data I get from Crunchbase to kick off my other workflows. Today, that's more of a manual export-import with CSVs and other things.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I leverage Crunchbase for finding leads from startups that announced funding, serving as a single source of truth and saving me from web scraping. It ensures I get a comprehensive list for further research.

  ### 6. Essential Tool for Understanding Startup Environments

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren P. | Recruiter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

I love using Crunchbase to get a comprehensive overview of companies, particularly their trajectory and growth metrics like the heat score and growth score over different timeframes such as one, two, five, or ten years. This feature provides a clear understanding of the business's progress and challenges over time. Additionally, I appreciate the detailed insights provided by the overview tab in the company profile, which displays the financial series or stage the company is in. It gives me a very clear picture of the company's funding history, including the timing, amounts, and types of funding raised. This information helps me gauge the maturity of the team and the product, aiding in making better recruitment decisions for my startup environment.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

I think Crunchbase could probably add in some details in that overview tab regarding head count, size, and scale. It's one thing to look at growth score and heat score, but I wanna know, like, how teams have scaled. For example, how many people are in engineering, customer success, HR, and operations at a company over time? What is the total growth of employees over time? That info would give me a sense of whether a company is thoughtfully scaling the size of the team to produce exponential impact in their work.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crunchbase gives me visibility into company size, transformation over time, and candidate work environments, helping me compare with my company's environment to assess candidate fit.

  ### 7. Abundant Startup Insights, but Limited Coverage Beyond Tech and Some Data Paywalls

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

I like being able to search in natural language. I like the available, easy to read scoring metrics like growth and heat score. I also find the UI easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Information is abundant for tech startups but lacking for other industries especially music and entertainment. Also don't like that there's data inaccessible even with the Pro solution. I think that is a cheap upselling tactic.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a CFO of a startup, it is helpful in helping me stay up to date with our competitors whether its new product launches or fundraising.

  ### 8. Insights Analyst

I use Crunchbase for scouting startups and tracking startup ecosystem trends. Its data supports our sourcing and selection efforts for Google Accelerators (via EPAM Systems)

**Reviewed by:** Bhagyashree J. | Growth Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

It’s super intuitive and saves so much time when you’re trying to gather reliable information quickly. Plus, the way it visualizes data makes it easier to spot patterns or make connections you might have missed.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Km R. | Data Scientist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Crunchbase basically shares, exchanges, and extracts information and insights on innovative companies and the people behind them. I was involved with Crunchbase in many projects like ML, natural language processing, and analyzing trends, and patterns of acquisition of startups, etc.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Crunchbase helps me in the business to a large extent but starting it gives very limited data access for its free plans. Sometimes it provides outdated or inaccurate data.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crunchbase has a global data analyst team that provides manual data validation and curation and they also ensure the quality and reliability of its data by using AI and ML algorithms. These algorithms help to validate data accuracy, scan for anomalies, and also put alerts to its data science team of conflicts in the data. It gives very authentic and accurate data which is helpful in collaboration.

  ### 23. Best in class funding data for Saas sales

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alan M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Using the funding data in Crunchbase, our sales team is able to identify shared investors across our customer base. This enables our team to craft tailored messaging tied to social proof during our prospecting efforts and allows us to come prepared during calls with our prospective clients.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

The Salesforce integration needs a bit of work. While it is helpful to see if an account is already in our database, there is no way to filter by Salesforce account owner. The only workaround I've been able to find is to import .csv lists for each account owner which can be manual/time intensive.

Also, there is no way to save/adjust the default format of your reports so each time you import a list you have to reselect the columns that you wish to include.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crunchbase is the best data source I've used for funding data, we have some of this data available in another tool (ZoomInfo) but it is often incomplete and out of date. Crunchbase has been more accurate & up-to-date which helps our team have the best information available while prospecting for new accounts and attending our sales calls.

It is really easy to use, and the platform has a clean and intuitive interface, making it easy to find and access the information I need. Plus, it integrates with other tools and platforms I use, like Salesforce and LinkedIn, which makes it a great addition to my tech stack.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

While Crunchbase offers many valuable features, some users may find the platform's pricing higher, particularly for its more advanced plans. Additionally, some users may find the search functionality limited, especially when searching for very specific or niche information. Finally, the platform's emphasis on funding and investment data may not be useful for those looking for other types of business or market information

  ### 28. Crunchbase Pro has been beneficial for sales and research

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Humaira K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Easy filtering, lots of data on companies globally.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

I don't like that you can't have access to more than 1000 leads or can't keep track of duplicates when generating lists of companies.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My company serves markets globally so it helps to easily filter companies by location, funding information, and find out the validity of an organization with the data it provides. It is helping generate large sales lists and also research markets and verify users based on their employment that ca be verified on crunchbase.

  ### 29. Crunchbase definitely has no concurrence.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marwane T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

I love that it helps me find new companies to send cold mails to in order to have new clients. There are a ton of filters you can use in order to find the exact type of company you want to find.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

I don't have anything specific to say about what I dislike with Crunchbase, apart from the fact that $29 / month might be quite a high price from my point of view.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a content creator / influencer, Crunchbase helps me to find new companies to work with and partner with that are in the same niche as I am, so that I can both help my audience by letting them find new useful websites / apps I found through crunchbase, and it also helps me because I'll get paid sponsorships with companies.

  ### 30. Good Data as a supplement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adeel B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Provides good data for the most part. Really like the monthly visits to the website, funding rounds and number of rounds which is great for my role. I use it for my territory planning and account research on a weekly basis.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Wish it had better data around number of empliyees and contacts and their information so we wouldn't have to go through multiple websites and tolls to do ur job.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping me understand who fits the ICP for our products. Things like IT investment, number of visits to the website, customer's apps and so on.

Also helps in terms of understanding parent companies or private equity firms that have investments in the target account.

  ### 32. Crunchbase

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Provides abundant information with regards to the company or organisation and also about its important people and funding.

It's not completely free, certain information incur cost while trying to access the website.
Requires to be up to date with the acquisition about organisation & update them timely

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides information about the founding as well as active members which helps in taking the right decision when dealing with such organisations.
Also helps in identifying the market trends or a particular domain in which a company is looking forward to.

  ### 33. An excellent source of information for investigating startup companies

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Limuel M. | Database Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Using Crunchbase, I can rapidly grasp the framework, funding, and essential personnel involved in rival tech startups. It also enables you to bookmark firms for convenient access later on.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Crunchbase follows a free payment system, but the price increase is quite significant once you decide to move from the free version to a paid one. It would be more desirable if you could make monthly payments instead of yearly ones and if there was a less expensive entry-level option for startups in their initial stages.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Market Research - can provide market data on various industries, including competitor analysis, industry trends, and market size.
Sales Intelligence - can provide information on companies funding, leadership, and other key metrics, making it a valuable tool for sales teams looking to identify new business opportunities.

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

The builder is great to create lists for our sales teams as well as markeing dept.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

The company tagging is not always fantasic, you can be searing for gaming companyes but end up with retail etc, it needs to refinment for sure!

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trying to build out lists for our sales team to turn into prospects and then leads.

  ### 35. First time CrunchBase

  ### 37. Good for researching startups

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Heidi B. | Director of Business Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

You can quickly find out info about startups. What funding they've received, what the sell and more.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Contact info is not great. Hope they improve it. Also don't this it should be an upsell and they should include credits when you put Pro for a year. My mistake for not looking into it.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding info about smaller companies.

  ### 38. Great for competitor sourcing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Love how you can easily find competitors from companies depending on their industry and product focus. I love how easily you can find different lists on different company types that are pre-built.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Sometimes it doesn't provide direct competitor information. Would be great if it was a bit more user-friendly when creating lists and saving searches, as sometimes these don't always run.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps me source a company's competitors and gain a better understanding of the industry as a whole. Gives me a really good profile of each company with detailed information!

  ### 39. Great, accurate and exhaustive data

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rishi V. | Head of Product & GTM Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

There's information on crunchbase that is not usually available on other platforms (eg: linkedin, zoominfo). I love the fact that it is easy to bulk-export the data into excel.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Given how exhaustive and easy to access the data is, it will be more helpful if some numbers can be made more accurate and up-to-date. For example - the estimate revenue range is quite off for customers. This can drastically impact how organizations segment their customers or prospects.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crunchbase is helping get all information of organizations in one spot - their funding, revenue range, active hiring status, number of employees etc. This is helping me bulk download data and better segment our prospects and customers.

  ### 40. It does what I expected

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul C. | Enterprise Sales Executive, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

It has the bestest information on funding rounds

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Inability to share exported reports without upping my license subscription to allow it

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're trying to target companies that are growing quickly. Cash infusions would be a strong indicator for a subset of growth companies.

  ### 41. Updated startup leadership and financials info

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

recent funding and contacts

  ### 48. Good for market research

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Helps to find the data of the contacts and the other info required about the target companies or the competitors

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

Pricing can be a bit reasonable atleast for startup kind of companies

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Find the contacts of the target prospects and also info regarding their companies

  ### 49. Perfect tool for a b2b company with a niche and concentrated ICP that fits the CB ranking

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erik M. | Writer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Perfect tool for a b2b company to find ICP companies in sales, because we have a niche and concentrated ICP that fits the CB ranking (SaaS companies etc.) - we can easily and quickly find a high percentage of ICP companies that is not possible or works really poorly in other databases.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

The tooling for handling the data is not great. For example, you cannot select more than 1000 rows in a search/list. I think there is an upper plan in which you can tho, not sure, and that's why I dislike this anyway because its very unclear on how to upgrade to that to get that feature (if it actually exists).

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding ICP companies to target in sales. It's helping us a lot because we have a concentrated/niche ICP that is hard to narrow down to in other tools and find such good data that CB has.

  ### 50. Extremely helpful if you work in the startup realm

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shannon T. | Alternative Protein Consultant , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

I loe how accessible Crunchbase makes information that is otherwise opaque, like how many investors a company has and how many rounds they've raised to get to their total amount.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

I'd like more information on pre money valuation and more refined revenue data.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping me understand the latest developments in alt protein funding, who the most active players are, and what trends to watch for.
