To be frank, there's not much I liked about Crunchbase. The platform does offer extensive data, which could potentially be useful for certain enterprises with specific needs. However, most of the data can be found for free or at a much more cost-effective rate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Crunchbase? There are several aspects of Crunchbase that I found disappointing: Refund Policy: The 7-day refund policy is simply not enough time to fully evaluate the platform and its offerings. A more flexible refund policy would be more reasonable, especially considering the significant upfront annual financial commitment required. Data Value: The data provided by Crunchbase, while extensive, is not as valuable as it's made out to be. I found that I could source most of the information provided by Crunchbase elsewhere, at a much more reasonable cost. Credit System: The credit system is quite restrictive. With only 10 credits provided per month, it's hardly enough to conduct comprehensive research. Additional credits are offered, but at an extra cost, which further inflates the already high price of the service. Customer Support: The customer support was very disappointing. Pricing: Crunchbase is overpriced, especially for small businesses. The value proposition simply doesn't add up. In conclusion, Crunchbase seems more suited to larger enterprises that have a specific need for this data and the budget to afford it. However, for small businesses, it's simply not a viable option. I regret my decision to purchase a subscription from Crunchbase and would advise anyone considering this service to think twice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you? Crunchbase is designed to solve the problem of accessing detailed information about startups, businesses, and industry trends. It provides a platform where users can find comprehensive data about companies, including their funding rounds, investors, employees, and news updates. However, in my personal experience, the benefits did not outweigh the costs. The data provided by Crunchbase, while extensive, was not unique or valuable enough to justify the high subscription price. I found that I could source most of the information provided by Crunchbase elsewhere, at a much more reasonable cost. Additionally, the restrictive credit system and poor customer service further detracted from the overall value of the platform. Using the funding data in Crunchbase, our sales team is able to identify shared investors across our customer base. This enables our team to craft tailored messaging tied to social proof during our prospecting efforts and allows us to come prepared during calls with our prospective clients. While it is helpful to see if an account is already in our database, there is no way to filter by Salesforce account owner. The only workaround I've been able to find is to import .csv lists for each account owner which can be manual/time intensive. Also, there is no way to save/adjust the default format of your reports so each time you import a list you have to reselect the columns that you wish to include. Crunchbase is the best data source I've used for funding data, we have some of this data available in another tool (ZoomInfo) but it is often incomplete and out of date. Crunchbase has been more accurate & up-to-date which helps our team have the best information available while prospecting for new accounts and attending our sales calls. Crunchbase is a very user-friendly database. The logos available for every company helps in easy identification of the company we need to work upon. We can download the data in microseconds. The limit on the number of companies/ funding round one can download at one go is 1000 which should increase as one has to download data again and again in multiple batches due to this.
