Crownpeak does some things very well, but can feel too ambitious at times **Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2018 **What do you like best about Crownpeak DXM?** Crownpeak does a very good job of compartmentalising sections of a website, and letting you control what content goes where, what widgets and code snippets, etc. We work with clients that need to pump out similar sites with variations, and its easy to make a very reactive template that you select which component you want from a dropdown, and the fields appear below to be published. It makes that very useful. **What do you dislike about Crownpeak DXM?** In a lot of ways, Crownpeak feels unfinished. It is a little laggy to work with, especially with huge files. Similarly, a lot of aspects of source control that seem standard and like they should be implemented as a standard(various things that git do) (or even a git integration, come to think of it), don't exist and can cause issues. Crownpeak can also feel too ambitious, such as their own take at a serializer. It serialises json differently than the built in C# Visual Studio serializer which, to me, seems more standard, and it deals with ASCII characters differently. **What problems is Crownpeak DXM solving and how is that benefiting you?** One of my biggest achievements at Vshift working with Crownpeak that I believe Crownpeak handles well is a site builder tool that one of our clients uses to pump out sites for each of their clients. There is a lot of custom code to set everything up, but because of the way Crownpeak handles templates, widgets, models, and routing, it makes it vastly easier to implement this. ### 2. Templates can make or break your installation **Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2017 **What do you like best about Crownpeak DXM?** I like the CMS platform and the way that content can be easily be managed without coding experience. I also like the DNS management features of the site. Also, the ability to identify orphaned pages and content that may need to be removed. **What do you dislike about Crownpeak DXM?** The site templates can make for a very rigid and boring site experience. We have an enterprise solution that was set-up for improved site controls, but the technology partner that set it up hobbled the platform's capabilities. Crownpeak's focus was to sell the license, but did not get us on the path to success. **Recommendations to others considering Crownpeak DXM:** Look into site templates and make sure that anyone creating customer site templates is an EXPERT in Crownpeak. Do not go for the lowest bidder or, to use an analogy, you will end up with a minivan that seats one person. **What problems is Crownpeak DXM solving and how is that benefiting you?** Content management, staging and approval/release processes. Crownpeak User Experience **Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2017 **What do you like best about Crownpeak DXM?** The whole idea of content management system is thrilling and Crownpeak is the first software that introduced CMS to me. **What do you dislike about Crownpeak DXM?** I have used both Crownpeak and Drupal and I feel comparing to Drupal, Crownpeak is less user friendly. Drupal has clear set of display, which is really useful to do the actions on different pages. **What problems is Crownpeak DXM solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are providing ads on our website using Crownpeak. Marketing team will take care of adding and taking down the ads from Crownpeak. a lot of home rolling code) **Recommendations to others considering Crownpeak DXM:** -get off of Silverlight as quickly as possible -consider drag and drop tools for Visual Studio for help building INPUTs and OUTPUTs -consider adding APIs for post input validations -build more examples and documentation for G2 search -consider making G2 search plug and play like G1 search was to implement **What problems is Crownpeak DXM solving and how is that benefiting you?** -we are solving business problems of regulated workflow, straight-forward site creation and future maintenance. -we can stand up and publish sites quickly for our customers. ## Crownpeak DXM Discussions -
