CrowdTangle allows me to see how our organization's Facebook and Instagram posts do compared to a wide competitive set. Based on that, we can make decisions about programming and social framing. What do you dislike about CrowdTangle? I wish CrowdTangle had a historic overview. I can see which posts have been overperforming over the past six hours, but I can't go back further than that. Sometimes the day is busy and I forget to look at how a specific post has done shortly after it posted; when I do remember to check, it's too late for me to know. Recommendations to others considering CrowdTangle: I would recommend setting up your dashboard so that you can quickly see at a glance how competitors (or any other news organizations you track) are doing on Facebook. CrowdTangle is an important competitive analysis tool that allows me to quickly get a broad overview of other news organizations' social posts and performance. I love CT because it lets you know what your competitors are doing, but also how your posts are in comparison to others. It is very helpful when looking at what content to share. "Best data intelligence platform out there" 5/5 What do you like best about CrowdTangle? It practically takes all the backend data from facebook and other platforms and makes it visually appealing and easy for the user the search through it using OCR and other methods that are not usually accessible to everyone, these do help in Fact checking, trends analysis and other matters related to data intelligence, no other platform has similar features. Filtering options and the intelligence sections is quite intuitive in terms of you will find what you are looking for defiantly, the pre made lists by the platform makes your life easier to know mode in specific about media outlets, governmental and other lists that are pre made. Recommendations to others considering CrowdTangle: There is tons of platforms out there that does somehow the similar matters, but crowdtangle is unique and it's features and access to information cannot be replicated, hence I only recommend crowdtangle over others. We use the platform to assure our findings in terms of rumors tracking, fact checking and trends analysis with influencers and the depth of reach of a certain rumor, in which all the results are done in seconds without any delay, with an exportable file for sentiment analysis and other means of analysis. I mostly use the platform for the Intelligence tool for weekly/monthly recaps across Facebook and Instagram. It's a great tool for seeing top performers and trends over time. I also like that I can monitor competitive brands and discover trending pieces or content that has spiked during a time period. Beyond just engagement data like comments, shares, video views etc, I wish there was a way to see traffic data as well. I like the filtering options, and I also like that you can find content as it is gaining popularity. I also like that it is now free! That was not the case when I began using it at Curiosity.com. The platform allows for such deep research that is very helpful to a niche user, but it took me some time to be able to utilize in that way and I felt I was just scraping the surface of content. I am solving problems like finding trending content without having to spend hours looking through Twitter or landing upon trending content just by accident. That is a big problem for me as a social media manager --- I spend so much time of my day scrolling through feeds to try to get a feel for what is happening, but CrowdTangle takes the time out of that and shows me the upcoming popular content that is most relevant to me and my industry.
