Crowdstrike Falcon Cloud Security is the only CNAPP to stop breaches in the cloud Built for today’s hybrid and multi-cloud environments, Falcon Cloud Security protects the entire cloud attack surface - from code to runtime - by combining continuous agentless visibility with real-time detection and response. At runtime, Falcon Cloud Security delivers best-in-class cloud workload protection and real-time cloud detection and response (CDR) to stop active threats across hybrid environments. Integrated with the CrowdStrike Falcon platform, it correlates signals across endpoint, identity, and cloud to detect sophisticated cross-domain attacks that point solutions miss—enabling teams to respond faster and stop breaches in progress. To reduce risk before attacks occur, Falcon Cloud Security also delivers agentless-driven posture management that proactively shrinks the cloud attack surface. Unlike typical solutions, Crowdstrike enriches cloud risk detections with adversary intelligence and graph-based context, enabling security teams to prioritize exploitable exposures and prevent breaches before they happen. Customers using Falcon Cloud Security consistently see measurable results: 89% faster cloud detection and response 100x reduction in false positives by prioritizing exploitable, business-critical risk 83% reduction in cloud security licenses due to elimination of redundant tools

"Unified Multi-Cloud Visibility with Actionable Attack Storylines"

4/5

What do you like best about CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security?

What impresses me most is how seamlessly it brings AWS, Azure, and GCP into a single, cohesive narrative without forcing us to choose between configuration posture and live threat protection. Instead of juggling fragmented tools across different providers, Falcon marries agentless posture management with lightweight runtime protection right inside the broader Falcon ecosystem. Being able to trace an exposed storage bucket or an overly permissive IAM role directly down to an active, running process in a Kubernetes container—and instantly correlating that with endpoint telemetry—gives our security team an unrivaled, full-spectrum view of our multi-cloud footprint. The most significant operational benefit is the drastic reduction in alert noise alongside the freedom it gives our engineering teams to move fast. Rather than drowning analysts in thousands of low-severity notifications, Falcon synthesizes scattered risk signals into prioritized, highly actionable attack storylines that drastically slash our time to detect and respond. It plugs smoothly into our CI/CD pipelines, allowing our DevOps engineers to spin up microservices and push code daily without hitting security speed bumps, as new assets are automatically discovered and guarded the moment they go live. Ultimately, it turned cloud security from a constant source of operational anxiety into a quiet, continuous advantage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security?

While the platform's core visibility is top-tier, the query language and custom reporting present a noticeable learning curve. When you move beyond the out-of-the-box dashboards to build custom queries or tailored threat-hunting reports across cloud events, you run into complex syntax that takes weeks of hands-on practice to master. Additionally, the initial setup can feel overwhelming due to the sheer volume of default notifications. Until you spend dedicated time tuning policies, establishing operational baselines, and filtering out routine developer activities, Tier 1 analysts can quickly get bogged down by a flood of low-severity findings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our primary challenge prior to Falcon was managing visibility across ephemeral cloud infrastructure. With developers constantly spinning up Kubernetes pods, serverless functions, and microservices across AWS and Azure, our security team was constantly playing catch-up, leading to severe coverage blind spots and configuration drift. Falcon Cloud Security solved this by providing continuous, automated asset discovery and real-time posture scanning across our entire multi-cloud estate. The tangible benefit for us has been a dramatic reduction in our Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Respond (MTTR); we no longer have to guess what's running in our cloud environments, and critical misconfigurations or active workload threats are caught and neutralized before they can be exploited. "Real-Time Cloud Protection with eBPF and Unified Telemetry"

4/5

What do you like best about CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security?

If you ask me to strip away the marketing fluff and look purely at the architectural reality, the absolute biggest upside of CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security is its hybrid convergence of agentless visibility and real-time runtime enforcement.

For the last few years, the industry was obsessed with pure "agentless" tools. But when you are engineering complex, multi-cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, and GCP, relying purely on API snapshots is a massive blind spot. An API scan running every 15 minutes will tell you that an S3 bucket is exposed, but it will absolutely miss a threat actor dropping a fileless malware payload into the memory of a running EC2 instance.

Here is what is actually helpful about CrowdStrike's approach in the trenches:

1. Real-Time Kill Capabilities via eBPF

This is the platform's architectural crown jewel. Instead of relying on clunky legacy kernel modules that crash production servers, CrowdStrike utilizes an eBPF (Extended Berkeley Packet Filter) sensor for its Cloud Workload Protection (CWPP). eBPF sits safely within the Linux kernel, acting as an ultra-lightweight observer.

If an attacker exploits a vulnerability in a containerized web app and attempts to spawn a malicious reverse shell, pure agentless tools will just log it after the fact. CrowdStrike's eBPF sensor intercepts the system call and strictly kills the process in milliseconds, all without disrupting the underlying host. It provides the surgical precision required to stop an active breach without bringing down production infrastructure.

2. Frictionless Integration with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Security tools that require manual deployment are dead on arrival in modern cloud environments. The Falcon sensor is designed to be completely invisible to developers. It deploys natively via DaemonSets in Kubernetes clusters or bakes seamlessly into Terraform and Ansible provisioning workflows. Because it doesn't conflict with custom Python, Bash, or PowerShell automation scripts running on the host, infrastructure engineering teams can build secure-by-default cloud environments without security becoming a deployment bottleneck.

3. Identity and Entitlement Mapping (CIEM)

In the cloud, identity is the new network perimeter. The most common way cloud environments get breached isn't through zero-day exploits; it is through over-provisioned IAM roles. CrowdStrike excels at Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM). It constantly graphs out exactly which machine identities, service accounts, and human users have access to which cloud resources. If an EC2 instance in AWS has an attached IAM role that secretly allows it to dump an entire DynamoDB database, the platform flags that toxic combination before an attacker can leverage it for lateral movement.

4. Consolidated Telemetry (The Single Agent Advantage)

If an enterprise is already running CrowdStrike Falcon on its corporate laptops, extending that exact same telemetry engine into the cloud control plane is a massive operational win. Instead of forcing a SOC analyst to pivot between a cloud posture tool, a container vulnerability scanner, and an endpoint EDR console, it all feeds into a single unified threat graph. You can trace an attack path from a compromised developer laptop straight through to a misconfigured Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) cluster in one seamless workflow.

Ultimately, the best thing about Falcon Cloud Security is that it doesn't just hand you a massive Excel spreadsheet of cloud misconfigurations; it actually possesses the execution power to stop the resulting attacks in real-time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security?

If I take off the vendor marketing glasses, the reality is that managing CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security at an enterprise scale comes with significant operational friction and a notoriously steep price tag.

While the platform is incredibly powerful, here are the biggest architectural and operational downsides you will fight in the field:

1. The "Single Agent" Blast Radius (The 2024 Hangover)

The biggest architectural selling point having one unified sensor for everything is also its biggest systemic risk. The massive global IT outage in July 2024 permanently shifted how architects view CrowdStrike. When you deploy an agent into your cloud workloads, you are granting a third-party vendor the ability to push dynamic content updates directly into the execution path of your mission-critical applications. If a kernel-level update goes sideways, it doesn't just break an employee's laptop; it can take down your revenue-generating AWS or Azure production clusters. To survive, cloud engineers are now forced to spend significant time building complex "N-1" or "N-2" staggered update rings just to protect their infrastructure from their own security tool.

2. Kernel Compatibility and The "Agent Lifecycle" Tax

CrowdStrike markets their sensor as frictionless, but managing software agents across tens of thousands of ephemeral, auto-scaling cloud workloads is inherently painful. While their eBPF architecture is modern, you are still permanently chained to CrowdStrike's supported OS and kernel matrix. If your DevOps team wants to upgrade a Kubernetes node pool to a cutting-edge Linux kernel, they have to wait for CrowdStrike to officially support it. If they upgrade prematurely, the sensor breaks or falls back to a degraded user-space mode, creating immediate blind spots in your cloud posture.

3. Module Sprawl and Licensing Shock

CrowdStrike's pricing model is aggressively modular. You do not just buy "Cloud Security." You buy the base Cloud Workload Protection (CWP) for the sensor. Then you realize you need Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) to scan APIs. Then you need separate entitlements for container image scanning, identity management (CIEM), and Data Security Posture (DSPM). IT leadership frequently experiences severe "renewal shock" when they realize the true Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) required to unlock the platform's full capabilities, making it a very tough sell for organizations without massive security budgets.

4. The "Acquisition Frankenstein" Console

CrowdStrike built much of its advanced cloud pipeline through rapid acquisitions (like Reposify for attack surface, Bionic for application security, and Flow Security for data posture). While they integrate these tools better than most legacy vendors, the Falcon console has become incredibly dense and complex. For a smaller SOC team or a cloud engineer just trying to figure out why a specific container build failed, navigating the interface can feel overwhelming. It often suffers from information overload, making it difficult to separate high-priority runtime alerts from low-level cloud misconfiguration noise.

Ultimately, the downside isn't that the tool fails to secure the environment; it is that maintaining it requires a highly mature engineering culture and a massive budget. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security solving and how is that benefiting you?

The fundamental business problem CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security solves is the massive visibility and execution gap between traditional IT security and agile cloud DevOps.

In the trenches of large-scale consulting engagements especially when architecting complex, multi-cloud transformations across AWS, Azure, and GCP for enterprise clients out of hubs like KPMG India security teams are consistently outpaced by developers. Infrastructure teams can spin up vulnerable containers or provision wildly over-permissioned IAM roles in minutes, and legacy security tools simply cannot keep up.

Here are the core business problems I use CrowdStrike to solve, and the direct benefits to the enterprise:

1. Solving the "Siloed Telemetry" Crisis

The Problem: Most organizations run a highly fragmented stack. They use native cloud tools (like AWS GuardDuty), a separate container scanner, and completely different endpoint protection platforms. This forces security analysts to manually stitch together disconnected logs just to figure out if a threat is real.

The Benefit: CrowdStrike consolidates this telemetry. It tracks the entire attack path natively. If a compromised credential on a corporate laptop is used to pivot into a production Azure environment, I can see that exact sequence in one unified threat graph. This drastically reduces the Mean Time to Respond (MTTR) because the SOC isn't wasting hours correlating logs. Furthermore, I can seamlessly feed this high-fidelity cloud intelligence into parallel endpoint platforms like Tanium or Microsoft Defender to lock down the broader enterprise posture instantly.

2. Eliminating Security as a DevOps Bottleneck

The Problem: Traditional security agents require manual installation, crash production servers, and frequently break custom automation. This forces security teams to act as gatekeepers, which severely slows down revenue-generating product releases.

The Benefit: By leveraging Python, PowerShell, and Bash scripting, infrastructure engineers can fully automate the deployment of CrowdStrike's lightweight eBPF sensors directly into their CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes DaemonSets, or Terraform code. Security becomes entirely invisible to the developer. The business benefits by maintaining rapid, agile release cycles without sacrificing runtime protection.

3. Bridging the Cloud Entitlement Gap (CIEM & CSPM)

The Problem: A single misconfigured S3 bucket or a dormant, over-privileged IAM role can lead to a multi-million dollar data breach. Auditing thousands of ephemeral cloud resources manually is mathematically impossible.

The Benefit: CrowdStrike continuously scans the cloud control plane via APIs to catch these configuration drifts in real-time. It maps out exactly which machine identities and service accounts have access to what data. This proactive enforcement prevents breaches before an attacker can exploit the misconfiguration, simplifying the pain of strict ITGC compliance audits and significantly reducing the organization's cyber insurance liability.

Ultimately, I deploy CrowdStrike to allow the business to adopt cloud-native architectures aggressively, without accidentally leaving the front door wide open. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful EDR, But Cost and Complexity Make MSP Adoption Tough"

3.5/5

What do you like best about CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security?

Crowd Strike Falcon is one of the strongest endpoint detection and response platform on the market and one of the hardest to fit cleanly into the MSP. P and L

It costed us roughly $60 per device per year entry level. Up to $200 to 400 per end point. Per year for fully managed Falcon, complete at scale. That was the really good part about this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security?

The biggest drawbacks are the cost and the complexity, especially for SMBs with heavy books. And the July 2024 outage is still fresh in my mind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security solving and how is that benefiting you?

It works well across almost any application scenario. You can deploy a single sensor to Windows, macOS, or Linux machines, and that cross-platform approach is the best part of the UI for me. The sensor then feeds telemetry to CrowdStrike’s cloud, where the detection logic lives. Because of that, there’s no on-prem management service to patch, no signature database to push, and no heavy scanning engine chewing through client CPU. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security: Unified Console and Smart Prioritization That Keeps Us Focused"

4/5

What do you like best about CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security?

What I like most is that cloud posture management lives in the same console as our endpoint detections. As an admin, I don’t have to stitch together findings from two separate tools, which makes it much easier to review and act on what we’re seeing. The exploitability-based prioritization on misconfiguration findings has also been genuinely useful, it's kept us focused on the handful of issues that actually matter instead of drowning in every low-severity finding by default. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security?

The default alert volume was our biggest pain point. Right out of the gate, we were getting flagged for a lot of things our org had already reviewed and accepted as an acceptable risk. As a result, the first few weeks took real effort to write suppression rules and custom policies just to get the signal-to-noise ratio to something manageable; not exactly what we want to be spending time on during an initial rollout. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security solving and how is that benefiting you?

The core problem it solves for us is fragmented visibility. Before this, our cloud security posture and our endpoint security lived in completely separate tools. That meant when something looked off in our [AWS] environment, correlating it with what was happening on the actual hosts required manual effort and time we didn’t always have. "Powerful risk prioritization and unified console, but a steep learning curve and cost"

3.5/5

What do you like best about CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security?

Honestly, what stands out most to me is the code-to-runtime visibility and the way it handles risk prioritization. Rather than dumping a massive, overwhelming list of random misconfigurations on you, it uses threat intelligence to highlight what’s actually exploitable right now. And if you’re already using the Falcon agent elsewhere, having everything in one unified console makes day-to-day work a lot easier for the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security?

To be honest, the biggest pain points usually come down to cost and learning curve. It’s definitely a premium enterprise tool, so the pricing can be pretty steep—especially if you're trying to scale it across a massive multi-cloud environment. Also, because it's so feature-rich, the initial setup and tuning can take some time, and it can throw a lot of noise your way until you get the policies dialed in just right for your specific workloads Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security solving and how is that benefiting you?

It mainly solves the massive headache of fragmented visibility and alert fatigue across multi-cloud environments. Rather than treating misconfigurations, identity flaws, and runtime threats as completely separate silos, it connects everything end to end, from code to cloud.

For us, the biggest benefit is that it cuts through the noise. By correlating raw alerts with real threat intelligence and attack paths, it makes clear what’s actually an exploitable risk right now. The result is less time spent chasing false positives, and a lot more confidence that the team is focusing on the vulnerabilities that truly matter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong MDR Foundation, but Heavy Dependence—and a Costly Update Outage"

3.5/5

What do you like best about CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security?

Falcon Complete is the service-provider offering we use, and our partner program is built on top of it. As described in the CrowdStrike service provider data sheet, it gives us a way to deliver CrowdStrike to clients as 24/7 managed detection and response while still keeping the customer relationship in our hands.

That said, it also creates a meaningful dependency. Because our MDR offering runs on Falcon Complete, CrowdStrike’s analysts are the ones doing the hunting. As a result, CrowdStrike’s pricing effectively sets our floor, and their roadmap ends up guiding how our service evolves over time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security?

Where it gets hard: the pre-endpoint modular pricing can run expensive and feels skewed toward enterprise volume commitments. On top of that, the quoting and packaging complexity makes every client proposal more work than it would be with a simple flat, per-seat tool. There are also vendor dependencies on CrowdStrike’s pricing, roadmap, and SOC when you build your MDR service on Falcon Complete. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security solving and how is that benefiting you?

Detection and threat hunting consistently rank at the top, and they’re strongly supported by the Overwatch human team. That’s the single biggest standout for me. Another major plus is the lightweight, single cloud agent: it keeps endpoint overhead low, makes onboarding quick, and overall contributes to stronger security. Third, there’s true multi-tenant management through Flight Control, along with a real service provider program for reselling MDR. For our business, I believe Falcon Go is the best choice because it fits small businesses well and provides the basic NGA we need, at the best price: $60 per device per year. "Powerful EDR for MSPs, but modular pricing makes Falcon hard to budget"

3.5/5

What do you like best about CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security?

Crowd Strike Falcon is one of the strongest endpoint detection and response platforms on the market, and it’s also one of the hardest to fit cleanly into an MSP’s P&L. In this review, I break down what Falcon does, what it costs, how it runs across a book of clients, and which MSP should be the one writing the check. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security?

Crowd Strike sells Falcon as a catalog of modules rather than a single product, which is where the pricing gets confusing fast. Crowdstrike publishes entry-level pricing, but anything more serious is quoted. Falcon Go, the small-business tier, lists at around $59.99 per device per year, bundled with Prevent and device control. Falcon Pro and Falcon Enterprise step up the EDR, with Threat Intel and broader module access landing in the rough range of $100 to $185 per endpoint per year, depending on the bundle and device count. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security solving and how is that benefiting you?

Falcon Prevent is the next-gen antivirus layer. It blocks known and unknown malware using machine learning rather than signatures, and it’s the baseline most clients need. Falcon Insight is the EDR engine: it records endpoint activity, flags suspicious behavior, and lets you trace an attack across the kill chain. Falcon Overwatch is a CrowdStrike human threat-hunting team. They watch our tenants around the clock and surface threats that automated detections miss. It’s an add-on, and it’s part of why the higher tiers cost what they do. Falcon Spotlight handles vulnerability management without requiring a separate scan agent. Falcon Identity Protection covers credentials and Active Directory attacks. Finally, the Falcon Intelligence Layer provides threat intel and automated sandbox analysis. "Strong CSPM Findings and Easy Onboarding, but UI Bugs and Limited Policy Editing"

3.5/5

What do you like best about CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security?

It helped us maintain an up-to-date inventory of all our cloud resources and improve cloud coverage for Falcon Sensor installation. Overall performance was okay, and onboarding was straightforward using the CFT templates. It also had a good amount of rules, which gave us pretty solid findings compared to our previous CSPM tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security?

The UI had a few bugs. At times, it couldn’t load all of our cloud accounts in a single attempt. We were also unable to modify some rules and policies: the policy logic wasn’t clear, and for the default policies we couldn’t make changes—only duplicate a few types of policies. Search didn’t work in the inventory tab, and grouping wasn’t available when we used it a few months back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps us gain better visibility into our cloud inventory, with Falcon sensor coverage across all cloud resources. We can correlate detections with cloud events, and we also get cloud configuration visibility so we can spot issues early and maintain cloud compliance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
