## CredentialStream Reviews
 ### 1. CredentialStream Streamlines Credentialing with Clearer Data and Faster Activation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel A. | Application Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2026

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

What I like best about CredentialStream is that it helps create smoother workflows, keeps credentialing data clearer and more consistent, and supports faster activation with less administrative back-and-forth for teams.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

What I dislike about CredentialStream is that some items appear to remain unresolved or planned for later releases, and there are examples of issues being placed in backlog without a clear ETA. It also looks like some validation and data comparison work requires extra manual review because of duplicate entries, missing values, and table differences.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CredentialStream is solving problems around inefficient credentialing workflows, inconsistent data, slower activation, and too much administrative back-and-forth. For me, that benefit is better data consistency, smoother processes, and less manual follow-up when working through credentialing, privileging, and payer enrollment activities.

 ### 2. Centralized Credentialing Made Easy and Efficient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antony C. | Credentialing Associate Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2025

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

What I like best about CredentialStream is how it centralizes credentialing, privileging, and enrollment processes in one streamlined platform. It helps reduce manual tasks, improves accuracy, and keeps all provider information easily accessible and up to date.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

While CredentialStream is a powerful tool, some workflows can feel a bit complex initially. It takes time to learn where certain functions are located and how to customize reports effectively. However, once familiar, it becomes much smoother to navigate.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CredentialStream helps solve the challenges of manual credentialing, data tracking, and provider management. By automating workflows and centralizing provider information, it reduces errors, saves time, and ensures compliance with payer and accreditation requirements.

 ### 3. Update: Since my last review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keydra W. | UTROP Credentialing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

I actually do like the application's list of functions available! CS can be your favorite credentialing tool with proper configurations!

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

Undoubtedly the server issues are a pain! We have these rather frequently at times, it's been about 3 times within the last quarter.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the problem of PSV for us, whereas we used to contract out for this at a high cost. It places control over the entire process of credentialing right into our hands. We have the ability to see what has or has not been received, we have control over edits when the provider has made a mistake in entering contact for verifications, and we can see all flags the moment one registers. This is big in this business, and credentialing timing for us has decreased by about 25 days with the installation of CS.

 ### 4. Credential Stream is a MUST Have!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chloe D. | Senior Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2025

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

Automated primary source verifications, logging approvals with payers and provider data are all so valuable to our work flows. This system is seamless and easy to use. My team uses it all day every day.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

Working with the bolt can be tricky, but the Health Stream Support team is fantastic.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Credential Stream solved our provider onboarding tracking including demographics, employment contract details, and employment dates. CS also helped my team obtain delegated credentialing. We also use the system for payer approval and recred tracking along with generating applications.

 ### 5. Versatile and Effortless Report Writing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2025

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

It is very versitile. Report writing is easier than other systems I have used in the past.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

When CredentialStream updates, sometimes our information (applications) reverts back to a previous version and you don't know it happened. Very frustrating.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has made electronic initial applications and reappointment applications much easier and quicker.
Easier for the department chairs to review and sign off on applicants.
Web crawler is a great time saver.

 ### 6. Great application, fundamentally sound as long as it's working

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keydra W. | UTROP Payor Credentialing & Enrollment Specialist , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2025

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

I truly appreciate the functionality of the system, particularly how seamlessly it enhances our productivity when everything is working correctly. One of the most significant advancements is our ability to manage PSV independently, which greatly streamlines the credentialing process. Rather than having to manually upload documents into the system, we can now handle verifications directly through the application. This improvement not only saves time but also reduces the potential for errors. Additionally, the capability to customize the application to meet our specific requirements has proven to be immensely beneficial, allowing us to optimize our workflows and better serve our needs. Overall, these features contribute to a more efficient and effective credentialing experience.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

Having used this application for over a year now, I have consistently faced various challenges that hinder our productivity. The frequent runtime errors, outages, and sluggish performance are particularly frustrating, as they disrupt our workflow and delay important tasks.

One major issue is that the workflows do not automatically update as we progress through different stages of our processes. This lack of real-time updates often results in duplicate efforts, forcing us to spend extra time re-entering information or reconciling discrepancies.

Furthermore, I believe that the addition of a built-in messaging system would greatly enhance communication within our team. If we could set alerts and send messages to one another directly through the application, it would streamline collaboration and help us respond to issues more quickly.

Finally, it would be incredibly beneficial to have the capability to open support tickets within the application itself. Currently, the process requires us to either call support or navigate to a separate online portal, which can be time-consuming. Having a direct ticketing feature integrated into the application would not only save time but also allow us to track our issues more effectively.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It mainly brings primary source verifications in-house for us, allowing us to manage the entire aspect of credentialing, which is a financial savings for our Company.

 ### 7. Senior Credentialing Coordinator

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

I love all of the automation option available to help free up time for more important things that require a person to preform.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

What I dislike the most is how dificult and confusing it is to set up automated tasks and workflows

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem we were having that CredentialStream solved for us was time management and tracking. We are growing at a rapid pace and the amount of work assigned to one person was becoming overwhelming.

**Official Response from Marketing Department:**

> Hi,

Thank you for your review. It's great to hear that you are loving the automation features and how they're saving you and your staff time in your processes. In regards to the difficulty of setting up the automation tasks, our customer support team will be more than ready to assist you in that. ### 8. Medical Staff Office

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2025

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

Most everything is in one place. You can move the topics from one folder to another if you don't like where it is (IE Approved Associates can be moved to Credentialing) and so everything you need is all in one folder to .

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

Creating reports are not user friendly. It isn't easy to search for something specific. Data is old. Frequently has technical issues.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Credentialing database

 ### 10. Helping to Build

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sharon A. | Director Medical Staff Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

The automation of verifications and communications with providers

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

Customer Support-once you get them are great! I usually just need a quick email telling me how to fix something. Not a 2-3 day wait for an answer while one of my providers is waiting.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Notification of providers when certifications expire, reappointments are due, incomplete things are sitting. I'm moving from a paper system to electronic and this makes the privileging data accesible to all.

**Official Response from Marketing Department:**

> Hi Sharon,

Thank you for your review. We're so glad that you've used CredentialStream to make privileging data accessible to all your providers. If you ever need assistance on how something works within the platform, please reach out to support at customer.service@healthstream.com. Thank you for choosing CredentialStream!

 ### 11. We have been active in CS for over a year now, and the system is always growing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karlee H. | Database Architect/Mngt III, Credentialing, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2023

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

CS integrates credentialing and privileges in a way that our previous software did not allow. The online hub portal for our employed providers is a thing of beauty. Its completely customizable, based on your business requirements, and the CS implementation staff, along with their tech support, are extremely helpful while working on getting your system up and running.

The system is constantly evaluating and expanding itself. There are bug fixes, improvements and so on addressed no less than once a month for the entire system. When any person or group has ideas for CS, they have a Thrive community to submit your ideas and have active discussions in relation to those decisions. I have seen many of them go from a simple idea, to an actual feature we can use in CS in the last year.

The staff that I have worked with, from our initial impletation, through our go live; the IT help desks, our additional help and further implemetations, have been amazingly helpful and patient (and lets be honest, if I am decaffienated, that last bit can be a big ask). If they didnt know how to address a specific question, they went and found a resource to get an answer for us. I find that "drives for results/can do attitude" is pure magic in any business relationship.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

There's a lot of functionality that requires duplicative set up. There is a number of duplicative entry situations, but they are improving over time.

When we purchased the product, we were told that credentialing buildings (healthcare delivery organizations) could be done with the system, but as of right now (over a year after our go-live implementation), it is still not possible to do it with any of the features that need to be tracked for verification etc. We had to add in a bunch of our own screen extender fields to track required data for our various credentialing audit requirements. Hub access for an HDO (called Organization/Office/Location in the CS system) is not an option in its present state.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had been using a desktop product, and CS is online to so its much more easily accessible, and the provider access is game changing for our group.

 ### 12. Credential Coordinator Usage

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tamara F. | Credential Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

Multiple features available. Technical support is available, multiple platforms for help/feedback/recommendations.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

Monthly downtime issues, which cause issues with work efficiency. New information entered is not auto saved and you are not reminded to save before leaving the screen.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provider use has and continues to be improved as feedback is provided. Workflows and verification process is making changes with being able to specifically identify if other users are in an account and running monthly sanctions.

 ### 13. PSV Functionality Is Nice But The Rest Of The Software is Cumbersome

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cheri M. | Credentialing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

I like the integration of a multitude of PSV resources and the interface capabilities with other softwared databases, like NPDB and ABMS.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

Training process is very confusing and cumbersome. Programming all the settings and nuances of the software (especially mapping payer forms) is very overwhelming and should be handled by folks with IT experience/skills and this should be communicated to the clients who are purchasing the software. The implementation timelines communicated by the salesperson we worked with were also completely unrealistic and it should have been better communicated that those timelines are only even remotely possible with a certain sized team possessing specific skillsets. Our administration expected that two people with only basic to moderate computer/tech skills would be able to get all of the modules up and running in 4-6 months because the sales team from CredStream didn't offer more detailed info about the implementation timeline. The enrollment module is almost more cumbersome than it is helpful. Payers are moving from paper forms to portals and CredStream's chrome extension doesn't function anymore unless you are constantly remapping the online portals. The chart review module is not at all reasonable for a high volume of chart reviews given that each individual chart has its own link. If a physician is reviewing 50 charts, that's 50 individual links the physician has to navigate and keep organized and have crowding their inbox. The appointment/reappointment module is also less streamlined than our current process and places a burden on those reviewing the physician packets for appointment. Overall, our company is spending $25k per year for this software and only after going through all the trainings did we realize that the only benefits CredStream can offer our company are expirables tracking and ongoing monitoring in addition to having a centralized place for physician profiles/information. We likely would have opted for a different software had we known the details of the software (i.e. more than just a sales demo) prior to signing the contract.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The only thing CredStream is helping us with is ongoing monitoring and expirables tracking along with a centralized place to store physician data.

 ### 14. Exceptional Credentialing Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristin W. | Executive Assistant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

Since I have been using the software, I have learned a l ot!

I love the way you can map the payer forms and attach the form to the hub

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

I think the lack of experience using CredentailStream makes it harder for me right now.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has made privileging and credentialing much easier... efficient workflows and getting things done in a timely manner

**Official Response from Marketing Department:**

> Hi Kristin,

Thank you so much for your positive review. We are so pleased to hear that you're enjoying the Bolt feature and using the platform to streamline your privileging processes. Since there are so many functions of the platform, it can definitely be challenging to absorb it all as a new user. We encourage you to keep reaching out to the customer service team to stay updated and take advantage of all the features. Thanks for choosing CredentialStream!

Best Regards,
The HealthStream Team

 ### 15. System works great for hospital organization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabrielle T. | Credentialing Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

Our organization utilizes CredentialStream for everything and being able to use one site is excellent. We really like the quick verify for DEA licenses as you are no longer able to access the DEA website to cehck licenses. This makes it very easy to verify the provider has a current one.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

The downside to credentail stream that I have ran into, is the applications someimtes to not process correctly. I have had providers come into the office and login and try to submit or submit the application and it does not go through and the support desk is not able to help because they see no issue.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to keep up with provider information such as licenses, board ceritfications as well as health stauts.

 ### 16. Very Organized

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** T'mie K. | Credentialing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

I love how CredentialStream keeps the information and documents organized.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

Not too user friendly at first but it is very easy to get help when assistance is needed.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keep everything organized. If we need inforation on a provider, we can quickly turn here.

 ### 17. Wonderful system! Easy to use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tanya M. | Provider Enrollment Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2025

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

I love the fact that I can build custom reports to help me track certain information.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

I don't have anything that I dislike about the system.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlining the department and assisting with lineup with our goals

 ### 18. My experience with CredentialStream began in 2022. My first-ever credentialing software.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

CredentialStream has gone through many changes and updates, and these were for the better with more to come! Many of the changes positively affected workflow and in my experience also improved ease of use. Customer support for CredentialStream (and HealthStream) as a whole has an easy-to-use portal where support is thorough and extremely helpful in times of need. As of 2024 this continued support is still thriving and I've never had a issue getting problems resolved or questions answered. They even can hop on a call if needed. In situations where this isn't enough, you have your next levels of support and account managers who assist with contract renewal and support. CredentialStream is continuously looking for ways to improve with a recent change being on how they handle email notifications, report handling and messaging. The option to set up SPF records is there, however, the recent implementation of an in-house email option allows administrators to avoid using SPF records for security concerns. In addition, CredentialStream's flexibility of providing exports whether automatic or manual can allow the integration of third-party systems to pull data from the system via FTP or HL7. Lastly, CredentialStream also provides the ability to add custom data fields to the system with the click of a few buttons which is very useful when combined with reporting and exporting. Provider and location management is very easy with CredentialStream combined with excellent support, developers, and account managers.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

CredentialStream is ever-evolving but as a technical administrator the only issues I run into are with the bolt editor with all the different types of reports that can be pulled (forms, letters, spreadsheets, listings, exports, and more) and setting access control rules can be slow. In rare cases where some data has more than one set of data pulling it in separate columns within exports or spreadsheets can take a minute to figure out if you aren't using the system often whether is it using different parent tables for it to lay it out correctly, or tinkering with the filtering and export rules. The only other issue is user management as the system can become clogged with old user data and even though the system allows SSO it doesn't provide user provisioning via other sources or utilize one login for the support portal and other HealthStream products.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CredentialStream is always solving issues or supporting me in situations I have with reports, system management, and upkeep (SSO, System Email Management). This allows me to spend more time generating needed reports or updating the system and in return keeping our credentialing process flowing.

Their support has given me the info needed at every roadblock I've encountered.

**Official Response from Marketing Department:**

> Thank you so much for your review. We're thrilled to hear that the updates are positively affecting your workflows and streamlining your processes. It's great to hear that you're taking advantage of the customization available in the platform, as we continuously work on improving the interface and capabilities to suit our users. Thanks for choosing CredentialStream!

Best Regards,
The HealthStream Team

 ### 19. CredentialStream is a Amazing!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nancy M. | Human Resources, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

The best aspect about CredentialStream is that it is a "one stop shopping"!!!. The system houses all the information for the providers. I use CredentialStream all day every day. Any and all information regarding a provider is right there in CredentialStream available to me at any time. At any point I am able to access any information needed regarding a specific provider or any and all providers.
The system is set up so that right from a potential new hire, I can reach out to them, through their application process and run all the PSV's, right through to creating the package needed for final approval and granting them privileges. This is also done when a provider is up for reappointment process. There are also websites that allow others in the company to look at the approved privileges for any provider at any time. The "affiliation" site has save me countless hours of verificiations.
The system then sends out the notifications needed when any item on their file is about to expire on a timeframe that was decided by our team. The reports I receive are invaluable. The system itself sends out the notifications and then I can check my reports at any time. The system also has the ability to send out the verification for references and affiliations that are needed so it's not a "manual" process for each provider going through either an intial or a reappointment process.
We initially went through the implementation which allowed us to set up the system according to our needs. The team that we worked with is still available to me.
As time went on, there were a few issues that I needed changed or add and their customer support was very responsive, knowledgable and able to assist me immediately.
Just having CredentialStream has assisted me in ensuring I am in compliant at all time. Having all the information needed at my fingertips makes it much easier during the audits by outside agencies .
I would highly recommend CredentialStream to everyone who manages the credentilaing process. The ability to streamline all my process and verifications has allowed me a level of comfort and reassurance in my job.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

I have been asked why I don't like about CredentialStream and I honestly can say that there isn't one thing I don't like. As I was fairly new to credentialing when we implemented this program, it has honestly saved me hours of manual verifications and countless spreadsheets to get the information I need all in one program.
I have passed the last two audits I have been through and I am thankful that CredentialStream is our system.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main reason that CredentialStream was implemented was to "house" all the necessary information for the providers. It also was a way to "manage" the Initial or Reappointment process.
The benefits to me is time saving but mostly the ability to have all the information needed housed in one area for the provider. As the system is able to send out the notifications of expiring licenses, malpractices, etc and then send me the reports is an absolute time saver. I know only have to "chase" a few providers to get their updated information.
To be able to credential a provider from beginning to end using one system that houses all that information again, is invaluable to me.

 ### 20. CS is good when it's working correctly....

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelly S. | Credentialing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2025

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

User friendly and multiple options to do things.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

It seems lately that it is not working correctly more and more frequently

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its a streamline process for Credentialing

 ### 21. CredentialStream Feedback

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christinia C. | Credentialing Supervisor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

I like that it helps with our automation and try to bring our workflows into a quicker turnaround.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

That there are areas that are still being improved and not yet completed to be able to use on a daily basis. Examples - I do not like that the PSVs are not set up to pull the same as what we would see directly from the PSV source. Also the recent Insight reports are not working for us.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing storage of credentialing files, provider applications and workflow processes.

 ### 22. One-Stop Shop for all your Credentialing needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julie B. | Vice President Human Resources, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

CredentialStream is very flexible and can be personalized to meet your needs. The system may not have been designed for an FQHC, but we have been able to tailor it to meet our needs and have a fully-functioning, paper free credentialing system. We changed implementation leads mid-stream, but they picked up and made it work for us!

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

As a client, you do not have a direct contact for any questions or needs, so have to re-state your concerns, needs, requests to different representatives that you get on the phone or by email. They rely on their "knowledege base" a whole lot when it would be simpler for us, the end-user, to just get a direct response.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Credentialing used to be pen and paper and now is all encapsulated in this system. We are even looking at the education system to add on, so that we have everything in one place.

**Official Response from Marketing Department:**

> Hi Julie,

Thank you so much for your review. We're so pleased to hear that you're enjoying the customization features of CredentialStream, and that you've fully transitioned to a transitioned to a paper-free credentialing system. It's also great to hear that you're reaching out to customer support, and if you have more specific questions about your personal use the platform, you can also reach out to your account manager. Thank you for choosing CredentialStream!

Best Regards,
The HealthStream Team

It is easy to Navigate. It helps keep everything in one place.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

Too many predetermined fields that can't be modified.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Security of PHI information and tracking payor approvals.

 ### 24. Great Credentialing Partner

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2025

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

CredentialStream simplifies managing providers information, enrollments and expireables. It is a great tool to have if you are a delegated entity as everything flows with accrediting agencies.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

The only negative thing we run into consistently is the system seems to run slow after there is an update. They are always quick to find a solution.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time to revenue and provider information management.

 ### 25. Great for narrowing down exactly what you need!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angelika G. | Medical Staff Services Coordinator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

Can use variables to specify and customize results and reports.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

How specificity using variables can sometimes render issues with updates when the variables aren't converted

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They're creating new tabs for things like training/affiliation. We can specify which letter sets don't need to be sent a little easier.

 ### 26. It is not user friendly but after getting some training it is not as complicated as it seemed.

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

The number of features within the application

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

Running Reports is difficult and a lot of fields you need to fill in.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The company implemented CredentialStream before I was hired so after being here for 6 months I am finally getting the training to know the system. It is very helpful with the training, I had taught myself some of it but it is making it more efficient with the training.

 ### 27. Dissatisfied

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mellisa R. | Workforce Development Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

That we have the ability to track license expirations

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

The platform is cumbersome to use in every aspect, the onboarding training was confusing and my org doesn't utilize it as much as we should because it is not easy to use and understand.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To many places to build and navigate the end users do not know what steps to take and in what order. not sure we will continue to use this product in the future.

**Official Response from Marketing Department:**

> Hi Mellisa,

We apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced in using CredentialStream and the onboarding and training that is involved. CredentialStream is a complicated product and can take some time to fully adopt and understand, but it has extremely advanced functionalities when implemented properly. We encourage you to keep using the trainings as a resource, and to contact customer.service@healthstream.com if you have any questions. Thank you for choosing CredentialStream, and for leaving your feedback; as we will certainly take it into account as we continue to make improvements to the platform.

 ### 28. Would not recommend this platform.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

The sales pitch proposed a great product. We were initially very excited to get started with CredentialStream.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

The training materials are lacking and focused on only one type of customer. Often we would encounter issues with the platform that we would have to teach the support team to comprehend, and they were then unable to fix. We were excited about the potential of the reporting, however the reporting options are extremely limited and often don't work as advertised. After a very frustrating couple of years with this platform we are thrilled to be using a different much more user friendly platform at this point.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can't answer this question because CredentialStream only exaccerbated our issues. They seem to have acquired too many software platforms simultaneously and grew too fast and cannot sustain the product. We have many clients who had the same experience and are working to get away from this platform as quickly as possible.

**Official Response from Marketing Department:**

> Hi,

Thank you for your review. We apologize for any inconvenience that you experienced when using CredentialStream. We are continuously making updates to the platform to suit all types of user needs, and we provide training sessions to help users get acclimated to the new features and interfaces. We also have a dedicated customer support team that are well equipped to handle user requests in a timely manner. We will take your feedback into consideration in our mission to optimize CredentialStream.

The HealthStream Team

 ### 29. Great tool that requires a lot of work before go live

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

Reporting and security capabiltities. These are more robust than our previous software from the same vendor.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

The tremendous about of work you have to conduct for go live. The previous software had a lot of features that came ready to go at go live. With CredentialStream the client is responsible for the work. Also disliked that training is only offered as train the trainer.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are still pre-Go Live so much of this is not realized yet.

 ### 30. Satisfied with the system's management of data.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

Although I have not used Credential Stream to its full extent, the overall experience has been good. I do look forward to when we’re able to set up reminders on expirables.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

The system often runs a bit slow, and having the ellipsis on certain fields I feel is unnecessary. Also, requesting degrees or titles can be frustrating due to the response not indicating who the request is for. Which I thought was kind of strange, not having the provider’s name automatically built into the request. This can be quite time consuming if you did not keep record of who the request was for.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storing data, and documents.

 ### 31. Much improved

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2022

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

It has many automated processes. Support for the product has improved greatly since our implementation in 2022

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

Simple things like not being able to move a pop-up screen can't seem to be fixed.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides an automated credentialing process

 ### 32. Overall happy

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

The customer support people are always very pleasant.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

The customization options. They are almost TOO robust.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CS is solving the electronic storage problems by creating an online database to house our provider information.

 ### 33. Very friendly trainers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

That you can house all the providers information and generate reports

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

A lot to learn in a short amount of time.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Housing all documents in one platform and tracking expirations.

 ### 34. Not the most User Friendly

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Glicer N. | Supervisor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

Not much to say here, I am not a fan of the system and would prefer a different platform.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

The system requires users to have more programming background then anyone on our team has. I wish there was more 'plug and play' capabilities.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need this system to manage provider data, submit electronic applications and verify licensure/boards.

**Official Response from Marketing Department:**

> Hi Glicer,

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced with CredentialStream. The platform is suited to meet a wide variety of user's needs, and that can result in the user interface for some features being updated. We strongly encourage all users to ensure that they're subscribed to the appropriate email lists to receive product training notifications, and to utilize the expertise of our customer support team at https://community.healthstream.com/customer-support.

Best Regards,
The HealthStream Team

 ### 35. Wonderful Staff

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

They really took the time to train our staff and make sure we were ready to use their software as a business solution, even though we don't fit the typical customer profile.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

We had a great experience I don't know that there were any dislikes.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to implement, track, and automate workflows.

 ### 36. Its a good system for physicians, but not for AHP.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kara M. | CME Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

Easy to input CME meetings and track. Easy to produce CME summary reports and certificates for physicians.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

It is only good for physicians. You can track AHP, but the CME certificate can't be given as it is differnet than a physicians certificate by AMA guidelines.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use the CME section only.

 ### 37. Manager

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa O. | Office Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

SOME features of Appoint, see i can't even get this questionnaire done as it won't let me move on. I told you one thing, the definetion of "what I like best" would include one feature. It wants me to say two. I will not. even your surveys don't work.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

too cumbersome, hard to create processes. when we do on information from CS it is sometimes wrong and they have to be rewritten. very slow, appoint is frustrating and I have anxiety for the first time in my life. I can't get my work done.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It creates more than it solves

**Official Response from Marketing Department:**

> Hi,

We are sorry that you are experiencing frustrations. Please reach out to our customer support team at customer.service@healthstream.com; they are quick to respond and have a wide range of knowledge on issues regarding creating processes. Please let us know if you have any more concerns.

 ### 38. Somewhat frustrating as configurations within system change unexpectedly.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

All of the providers information is contained in one spot and it readily available.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

We experience changes to our data, the configuration of our set-up which causes us to have to go back and re-configure and try to figure out what changed and why. This happens at least once every week or two.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been going thru training after a period of non-use and configuration building that really wasn't good. CredentialStream is training us on the use of the software and we are hoping they can assist with getting Appoint up and running with us.

**Official Response from Marketing Department:**

> Hi,

Thank you for your feedback. It's great to hear that you're able to easily access provider information in CredentialStream. If you have concerns about training or how to access changes to your data, please ensure that you're subscribed to our relevant email lists. Thank you for choosing HealthStream!

 ### 39. Credentialing under one roof- almost!!!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

You can store all information regarding your provider in one spot. It is user friendly. I love that all of the information is being stored in one place.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

It is a global program which embodies every company. It is not tailored to each individual company. Mutliple facility names. It times out after 15-30 mins if you are not using it which means you have to keep logging in. I was not doing that in 2022 and the first half of 2023.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None that I am aware of. I know the Hub is the newest thing that is being worked on and updated to make it easier for the Payor enrollment team to received information from the providers.

**Official Response from Marketing Department:**

> Thank you for your review. We're pleased to hear that you're having a user friendly experience and finding all the information you need. Thanks for choosing CredentialStream!

Best Regards,
The HealthStream Team

 ### 40. I am working with two individuals to learn how to implement and use CredentialStream.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

I like the ongoing support and training available to learn the system. I like that we will eventually be able to do our credentialing in house so we will have more control over verifying Provider information.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

I found the zoom training challenging because I learn better in person. I am hopeful that once I begin doing the group trainings that I will have a better grasp of the system and how to use it.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The CredentialStream will make it so we can complete credentialing in house which will stream line the process for our health center and will make the process faster and more accurate.

 ### 41. CredentialStream - Payer Enrollment use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tanya M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

I like CredentialStream for the ease of use, the implementation was very easy and useful. I use the system daily with tracking of License, Expireables and workflow. Its an awesome system and I would highly recommend anyone to use it.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

I havn't found anything as of yet on what I dislike about the system.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is streamlining our processes for us.

**Official Response from Marketing Department:**

> Hi Tanya,

Thank you so much for your positive review. It's fantastic to hear that you had a smooth implementation process and that your organization is using CredentialStream on a daily basis. Thank you for choosing HealthStream!

 ### 42. CredentialStream best available

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danielle B. | Director of Billing and Compliance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2023

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

It is very user friendly, improves automation and reduces paperwork.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

Updates will break APIs sometimes and import tool is cumbersome to use.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralized rosters for staff, application processes for new/existing providers. Automation of reminders for expirables. Automation of rosters to payers.

 ### 43. Inconsistent in standardizatino

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

I like that the system completes some of my verifications automatically. I like that I can communicate easily with my providers. Customer Support is usually pretty responsive to questions or providing assistance.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

Consistency in standardization. It makes it difficult to train new staff since we make it up as we go along. Ease of implementation was not very easy. Different project managers. Inconsistency in instructions. No standardization.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A one stop shop for my credentialing needs.

 ### 44. They are here to streamline processes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

I like that their team is always pleasant and willing to assist with any issues I may run into. There is alot of potential and features to be utilize.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

Some ares should be more streamline - connect one area with another. I feel there is alot more clicks. Also, there is no one place that has a document of variables.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They listen to their users and are continueing updating and implementing ideas.

 ### 45. Good but can always be better

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paige L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

CredentialStream is customizable, fairly easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

Reporting is not as efficient, customer support and helpdesk are not always helpful.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps hold our provider data, keeps track of licensing, and tracks credentialing process.

 ### 46. Great centralized place for all credentialing documents.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2023

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

Having a centralized area to keep information and documents for numerous providers and setting reminders of when things are due.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

The process of setting up reports to extract specific information from this system is quite complex.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reducing the need to have several spreadsheets to document privileges, licenses, expiration dates, etc. and being able to store important documents electronically.

 ### 47. Helps in monitoring vital provider information

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

The expirables widget- we have a team of over 40 providers and still growing so the expirables alrerts are especially helpful in addition to my manual spreadhseet monitoring.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

I wish there was some way to auto fill/ attach documents to hospital appointment/ reappointment apps and insurance credentialing/ recredentialing apps with the information stored on my version. However, I am still satisfied with the ease of use and access to necessary information.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As stated previously, the expirables and alerts allow an added electronic benefit to my manual monitoring of spreadsheets.

 ### 48. CredentialStream is a Great System with Many Advancements & Fewer Disadvantages than Competitors

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2023

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

The automation is excellent. Pre-CredentialStream, our process was close to 100% manual, primarily relying on spreadsheets to track data and assignments, as well as other software to communicate with providers, and verifications were pulled manually and saved as PDFs using Adobe Acrobat. CredentialStream takes all of these steps and makes an automated process in many ways, or allows us to conduct all of these job functions in a single place. It frees up time for Cred Reps to focus on more complex issues and getting their work across the finish line.

I am also very happy with the overall consistency of the system's reporting capabilities. No matter what type of report you want to run, you must build a query, then build a report, and then attach the two together. No exceptions. It's simple and unchanging, and the repetition makes committing this to memory much easier and faster. So much of CredentialStream's advantages over other products lie in its ability to report on a vast variety of data, but the process of generating a report is always three steps: build a query, build a report, and attach them together. The simplicity cannot be overstated for both new and long-time users, and the consistency and easy-to-learn process builds reliability. And reports can be automated, so both of my "likes" go together.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

The thing I dislike the most about CredentialStream is the audit trail. It is very difficult to read and identify what fields are being changed, and it doesn't cover User and Group settings at all. The audit trail requires a look-back range (ex. 04/01/2023 - 04/14/2023) and shows all changes made during that window. The results are formatted in a table.

The table is unfortunately not set to automatically resize, meaning I always need to scroll to the right to see every column, most of which are far too wide for the data that is actually present, so I actually need to scroll because of the large amount of blank space within the column widths.

Additionally, the fields are in the computer coding syntax the software engineers use to actually code the system rather than the name of the field that users see. These require me to know the coded name of the field rather than the field I can see in the system. For example, if I need to see a change to a Workflow, the audit trail defines this as "DR_CHK" This infers the field is a Checklist (an outdated function) but it's actually the Workflow. There are no guides available to users to define each field we see by its computer code, which means a user just has to figure out what the name means through trial and error. The field name in the audit should match the name of the field the user can see, since users will be primarily using the audit trail to track changes in their company's version of the system.

Finally, there is no audit trail for changes made to User and Group settings, which seems like an oversight in my opinion. Verity Support also confirmed this was not a feature with the system, but could be suggested to the Developers via the Thrive community. We have had issues with permissions changing from week to week by someone other than our super-users, but without an audit trail for User and Group settings we are unable to determine if system updates are removing permissions or if a user is. Being able to audit changes made to User and Group settings is a very basic function the system should have, especially when there's an audit trail for virtually every other area.

I would very much like the audit trail cleaned up to automatically resize column widths based on the data the audit trail logs, a frozen column header line, and all computer coding syntax replaced with the actual names of the fields that viewers see, as well as an expansion to cover User and Group settings changes.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our implementation period was quite poor, with functionality not working in practice as it was presented to us, or missing altogether. Fortunately, Verity has a fantastic support team that not only assists us with rectifying a problem we encounter, but also takes the time to give us a brief explanation on why we encountered the problem an how to avoid encountering it again. We have also been offered post-go-live training on actually utilizing the system itself, something the implementation team did not even cover (they focused more on what admin functions are available, but not how to actually work in the system).

It is unfortunate the implementation team did not provide any genuine training for using the system, but we are grateful for the Support team's assistance, time, and patience with us as we learn. They are an invaluable benefit to us and asset to Verity.

 ### 49. Great Credentialing Product and Customer Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dana P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2023

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

CredentialStream has streamlined a lot of the credentialing process and has created lots of things to help streamline the process. I really like the flexibility of the Bolt reports. Also, anytime I have issues the customer support is really responsive and has a great understanding of the system. Many times if they can't find the answer right away, they will work to resolve the problem. Only occasionally they tell me it can't be done.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

There are some kinks in the system that seem redundant and a few tweaks need to be made. For example, there is a report that I want to alphabetize and although other variables can be alphabetized, the one I use there can't. It sounds like a simple ask but it has been difficult to get past and support has just told me it can't be done.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a location to store all our provider information and compile it into reports.

 ### 50. Comprehensive Software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2024

**What do you like best about CredentialStream?**

Reporting
Verification
Workflows
HUB
Automation for letters, reports, applications etc.

**What do you dislike about CredentialStream?**

Some limittations for table values
Variables are mostly good but there are some gaps.
Support for writing sub-filters.

**What problems is CredentialStream solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlining workflows for our team so they are more efficient and have less "manual" work to do.
