Since they are based on the west coast of the USA course hours are not suited for people in other parts of the world if you want to watch the live stream (however, they do stream it in a loop for a day of so, but there is no interaction with viewers/lecturer)

Some courses were not as good as the majority, mainly due to the lecturer and not the material.

I've found about CreativeLive about a year ago and it became my main source for photography learning. While CreativeLive offers courses on many subjects, their main focus is on photography and Photoshop. The courses are very in-depth and the instructors are among the best I've seen on any training site (I've used Lynda and Kelby before.)

The courses are free to watch when they are live and you can also purchase them if you like to rewatch at your own pace (you also get extra PDFs with some courses).

Most courses are between 1 and 3 days long, but a few times a year they have a "photo week" or "photoshop week" which is 5 days of short lectures (1-2 hours) given by top photographers and Photoshop experts ( a "photo week" took place just last week).

I highly recommend the course "fundamentals of photography" by John Greengo, mostly for beginners, and pretty much any Photoshop course by Ben Willmore.

CreativeLive have classes for all levels of users and the ability to interact (on live classes only) is a unique feature that can be helpful for many. i'm a big fan of CreativeLive, and not much negative I can think of. however, I did warch a few development related courses and for me they weren't as good as the photography ones.

The price. I also dislike that whereas skillshare has an ever-present selection of free classes, creative live offers 'live' free classes which means that you have to happen upon a class that you want to take if you aren't looking to be subscribed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

CreativeLive is a unique online learning service in which the courses are taking place live with both studio audience and online viewers. The online audience can interact with the instructor and ask questions live via chat. The chat feature also allows you to interact with other viewers (either about the topic being learnt or in an off-topic chat room).

CreativeLive started as mostly photography centered with a single course over the weekend, and slowly grew and now offers many courses in a variety of subjects such as photo editing, design, music and self improvement.

The courses are free to watch when they are live and they are also re-broadcasted after the course is finished (of course no live questions via the chat during re-broadcast)

You can buy a course which gets you access to the course's video at any time and the course material (many courses have PDFs with summary and additional information)

Courses lengths vary and can be a single day, few days and even a month. Sometimes they hold a Photo-week or Photoshop-week during that week CreativeLive gathers an impressive collection of lecturers, many top of their field, each giving a short course in their area of expertise.

Not much to dislike about CreativeLive, it sometimes can be difficult to get your question answered on popular courses, but the moderators do their best and try to get the frequently asked questions answered (in some cases another viewer may answer your question in chat)
