We have been using CrashPlan Platform to protect endpoint devices and Microsoft 365 data in our organization. One feature I use regularly is restoring PST data for users who accidentally delete or lose emails. The cloud-to-cloud backup for Microsoft 365 is straightforward to configure, and the management console makes it easy to monitor backup status. I like that CrashPlan Platform keeps the user experience the same, ensuring that end users' workflows aren't interrupted. I appreciate that it allows us to avoid buying more Microsoft storage while archiving documents. The backup capabilities provide full redundancy for our Microsoft environment. Additionally, the vendor is great to work with and maintains a strong relationship with Microsoft, being on the cutting edge and ensuring they work optimally with them. What do you dislike about CrashPlan Platform? Some end users have concerns about data loss, and it takes a long time to complete the initial backups when there's a lot of data. It's necessary to have enough lead time when starting the project and to educate end users so they understand how backups work and where their data is at all times. Also, setting up requires a decent amount of collaboration and guidance with partners in the Microsoft environment, though most of the real setup work is on the CrashPlan side. I use CrashPlan Platform for M365 backup, including our email, OneDrive, and SharePoint. I find it to be an amazing solution with lightning-speed backups compared to earlier versions. The ability to do fast backups and restores is invaluable, as it minimizes downtime when a user mailbox or OneDrive is lost or crashes, and helps us get them up and running quickly.
