We relied on the E1 Exchange Online Plan which offered a storage limitation of 50 GB per mailbox. After consulting with Parablu’s service team, we procured three Office 365 E3 license buckets, known for unlimited and auto-expanding storage. The Office 365 E3 plans could address the mailbox archival needs of 800 users of the enterprise, overcoming the previous storage limitations. The backup process was manual and the process of managing users/devices also badly needed automation. We also were looking for a solution that could counter the following deficiencies in our previous solution: • The backups relied on ports having to be opened on user endpoints. Not only was that a security risk, but the steps around this operation were manual. And without these ports being open, there was no way to allow backups from the endpoints. • The previous solution also required a significant investment in storage and servers and other supporting infrastructure. We wanted to move to a backup solution that utilized enterprise cloud storage – particularly OneDrive for Business which we already had so much of. BluVault not only helped us surmount these problems, it has been particularly reliable, and as a result, increased our confidence in staying regulatorily compliant, and more resilient to data loss threats such as ransomware attacks. At first I thought that all that data encryption would imply a difficult handling of its interface for less experienced people in the area of ​​cloud storage.
