## CrashPlan SMB Reviews
  ### 1. Fantastic Product

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2015

**What do you like best about CrashPlan SMB?**

The ease of use on endpoints, it is definitely a set and forget product. At least until it is needed. As for administration the admin console for ProE is very easy to navigate and you get visibility into everything you would want to see.

**What do you dislike about CrashPlan SMB?**

There is not very much that I dislike about this product. The physical appearance is limited, but there is enough. I do not like the update process of the server console. Although it is not a bad process, it could be improved on and more automated.

**Recommendations to others considering CrashPlan SMB:**

Evaluate your needs and make sure that your security requirements are met by CrashPlan.

**What problems is CrashPlan SMB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are backing up critical user data that could be devastating if the data was stolen. We are meeting the requirements of our security initiative of our organization.

**What do you like best about CrashPlan SMB?**

First, it installs easily and works in the background without disrupting regular work. Second, it is easy to modify settings for all my clients. Third, I can restore for my clients or they can restore themselves. This creates a lot of flexibility.

**What do you dislike about CrashPlan SMB?**

Nothing. It worked as advertised and it is just as easy as they said.

**Recommendations to others considering CrashPlan SMB:**

The flexibility to use your own environment or a cloud solution, the pricing structure, the excellent support, and the amazing reliability are worth looking at this product.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian W. | Digital Content Manager, Defense & Space, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2014

**What do you like best about CrashPlan SMB?**

In our IT environment, the most beneficial aspect is that our customers are totally unaware that CrashPlan is there, doing its thing. It has zero impact on day-to-day operations.

**What do you dislike about CrashPlan SMB?**

So far, there has been no downside to our use of CrashPlan. This may be a matter of scale, but so far, so good.

**Recommendations to others considering CrashPlan SMB:**

I can tell you our interactions to date with Code42 have been smooth and simple, and the products have met our needs.

But as with any major purchase, perform your due diligence, ascertain the pros and cons, and analyze what will work best for you.

**What problems is CrashPlan SMB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our biggest benefit thus far has been cutting down on the time and resources involved in restoring users' m,machines when crashes have occurred. We're able to get folk up and running again in very short order.

**What problems is CrashPlan SMB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have, after only a couple of months using the product, saved hours of time recovering files in our department.

  ### 7. Backup should be viewed like a gas bill or rent, you HAVE to have it.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

  ### 9. CrashPlan Crashproof

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2014

**What do you like best about CrashPlan SMB?**

I love the fact that all of my data is kept in iterations. I can go back to a backup day and restore from those files. Obviously it's a great idea to have some type of version control, but it's incredibly helpful to be able to roll back to an old backup.

**What do you dislike about CrashPlan SMB?**

I wish there was a little more customization in the Linux version of crash plan.

**What problems is CrashPlan SMB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think the biggest problem crash plan is solving for us is actually... security. We're able to confidently encrypt all of our data now that we have a full proof backup. It's incredibly nice to have that in the back of my head.

  ### 10. Simple and reliable.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

We have a diverse group to support in our institution. Each client has special needs and challenges.

  ### 13. Powerful cloud backup solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greg M. | Senior Consultant, Internet, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2013

**What do you like best about CrashPlan SMB?**

Great software app lets you back up to other drives or other computers (even computers on different networks) for free, or to CrashPlan's servers for a monthly fee. So even if you don't pay for the cloud storage, you can still use the excellent backup software and get your data offsite without complex network configurations. It truly is an app where you can set and forget... which is great because if backup software can't do this, most people won't bother backing up. Performance is solid. Not as big of a resource hog as other online backup apps. You can recover or restore previous versions of files almost instantly, and you can access your files from mobile apps. You can also set your own encryption keys, which I view as a must for cloud backup solutions. CrashPlan is one of the few providers to offer truly unlimited backups. Pricing is flexible. You can have truly unlimited storage if you pay a fixed monthly fee per computer (great if your average user stores a ton of files). Or if you choose a plan based on overeall storage capacity, you can have unlimited computers on it, which brings the cost way down if your users only need to store a few gigabytes on average.

**What do you dislike about CrashPlan SMB?**

While always-on, real-time backups are great, be wary of users who utilize air cards or mobile hotspots and who work with large files. Easy way to burn through data caps and incur overages. Also, while RAM usage is lower than many other online backup applications, CrashPlan can still chew through 500MB.

**Recommendations to others considering CrashPlan SMB:**

Excellent software and competitive subcription offerings. Plans for individual, SMB, and enterprise are well-tailored.

  ### 14. So easy to use -- I can sleep now....

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Corey B. | Vice President - Operations, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2013

**What do you like best about CrashPlan SMB?**

This product is so easy to set up, allowing for the advanced as well as the inexperienced users when it comes to back up software. I've got two machines of my own backing up with this software, and have referred other friends and clients to the same service. It's very inexpensive, easy to set up, and truthfully it has a very small footprint on my machine -- not much affect at all during the backup process.

**What do you dislike about CrashPlan SMB?**

Nothing, honestly. Can too many options of how to back up your data be a bad thing? Maybe for the easily confused....

**Recommendations to others considering CrashPlan SMB:**

iBackup

  ### 15. CrashPlan is the Best Plan

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cole M. | CEO, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2013

**What do you like best about CrashPlan SMB?**

Crash plan offers two ways to create your initial backup: Traditional over the interwebs or via physical drive that is shipped to CrashPlan HQ. They offer this amazing FamilyPlan that is only $12/month and you get 10 computers with unlimited storage. This has saved 4 desktops and a laptop. I would recommend this to anyone with a computer. Period. The app also allows for local copies to be stored as well as their offsite cloud storage.

**What do you dislike about CrashPlan SMB?**

Can be slow based on your internet. This isn't their fault - but 7 days of 24 hours a day of uploading can take quite a long time. The hard drive you can pay for fixes this - but it's pricey.

**Recommendations to others considering CrashPlan SMB:**

Get it now - Have piece of mind.
