We had to build a very custom method for identifying remaining commitment reports. It's easy for new people to learn since the tool lays out exactly the process and who the designated individuals are in the approval chain. It also serves as a communication tool with external parties (ex. vendors, agencies, etc.) so it's easier to coordinate any potential back and forth. **What do you dislike about Coupa?** The escalation process is very difficult. If a request is held up by a particular individual, it's hard to escalate or bypass that individual. Also, resubmitting with minor insignificant changes is also very difficult and requires the request to go through the entire approval chain, which can take days or weeks. **Recommendations to others considering Coupa:** The accounting/procurement process is not easy, but Coupa does a good job of simplifying the process into manageable steps. The process itself can still take a while, but that's usually dependent on the stakeholders involved and the pace of the organization. For example: we need the pending buyer step back in the queue when the requester withdraws the requisition and resubmits after the buyer released it. Where catalogues are implemented this makes it very simple for users to order goods/services but also ensures that Procurement have control on items being purchased. **What do you dislike about Coupa?** The reporting function is not as good as we hoped and required a lot of "stitching" multiple reports together to get the information required. Improved reporting is available if you have the analytics tool but of course this costs additional money. WIthin the reporting we've also found that there isn't always a consistent manner if how the reports are structured of the information available. For example in the req header reports you are unable to drag in the supplier name, the currency of the order or the CoA, however this is available in the req line report. **Recommendations to others considering Coupa:** Really consider the Analytic's module and ensure that you don't configure Coupa too much. Reconsider your processes to fit with Coupa rather than the other way round. **What problems is Coupa solving and how is that benefiting you?** Despite the reporting not being as good as we hoped and taking more time to produce than anticipated, we have now been able to obtain information at a group level across all of our markets. This has previously not been possible due to various systems being used so this is a step forward for us. We've also seen an improvement with being able to work as a horizontal business with users able to work across markets. ### 41.
