## Countfire Reviews
  ### 1. I’ve been using Countfire for the past 2.5 years and it has substantially sped up our Estimating.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason S. | Estimating Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

I like the fact there is always the online chat on hand to assist when I come across something difficult. Also with constantly upgraded and added features keeps it ahead of the competition.

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

It isn't really a Countfire issue but we are ring more and more that engineers are issuing poor drawing where the symbols are not as good as they could be. Potentially a degree of tolerance would negate these small differences in symbols.

**Recommendations to others considering Countfire:**

Do it, Ease of use and support is unmatched

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems, Benifits include speed of take off, Accuracy of counts and presentation of processed info.

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> "Support is unmatched" — Love it. Thanks Jason! 🔥

Glad you can feel the continual effort we put into the product too. We work to 2 week release cycles so there's always a new improvement on the way.

The quality of PDFs can be tricky sometimes. We actually entirely overhauled our PDF preparation engine recently and of the many benefits of this work, the handling of poor or particularly complex PDFs was improved.

The link below outlines it a little more.

  ### 2. Very user friendly and intuitive.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

Saves alot of time when using it for take offs when compared to counting drawings by hand. Everything is designed in manner that is easy to pick up.

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

It is amazing for the electrical engineering take offs but has not proven yet to be as fast on mechanical engineering take offs.

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is creating more time for us to focus on other tasks in the estimating process.

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks for your kind words and really glad you're finding Countfire helpful!

We've got a bunch of customers using Countfire for mechanical, but you're right, there is room to make things more effective there. We've got a feature request related to this that you could add your vote to (link below).

You're bang on with it allowing you to focus on other estimating tasks. That was always the frustration I had when doing estimating—you'd waste a ton of time churning through busy work, which cut down the time you had for more important stuff, like reading the specification and actually understanding the project!

  ### 3. Very simple to use, accurate and delivers a usable yet customer friendly output

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mitchell R. | Business Development Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

The thing I like best about the program is the time it can save when estimating new projects and developing designs for tenders. Ultimately the time it saves when estimating allows us to return more quotations, more accurately.

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

On occasion, the system does not recognise the symbols used by particular design consultants. This can be an issue when working with a large volume of drawings for a single project but can be overcome using the 'Measure' tool, albeit at the cost of some extra time.

**Recommendations to others considering Countfire:**

To undergo training on the system prior to setting off - there are several valuable features not easily spotted without training.

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Aside from the time saved, a problem solved using the system is the ability to hand over a 'Clean' pack between sales and projects - complete with the equipment schedule and associated drawings.

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Really appreciate your review Mitchell!

Countfire's accuracy is definitely something we're proud of. When we first built Countfire I remember putting some takeoffs I'd done manually through it and sheepishly noticing all the mistakes I'd made (and had zero idea were there).

With symbols and automatic counting, it can be tricky when you run into the occasional project that has poor PDFs / overly complex symbols, however, and you might be aware of this already, there's a couple of things you can try before reaching for the measure tool:

1. Simplify complex selections (I've included our help centre article on this below)

2. Give our support a shout via the in-app chat. Our dev team can often work wonders with poor PDFs

  ### 4. Game Changer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Damian M. | Senior Electrical Estimator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

The most obvious benefit was the time saved. No paper & no highlighters

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

I can't think of any downsides to countfire. There is nothing i dislike

**Recommendations to others considering Countfire:**

I've tried similar software and countfire is by far the best

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

accuracy & checks are great. plus the take-off presentation is 100%

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks very much Damian! Great that you're getting on with Countfire so well.

The accuracy reports are a super important part of Countfire and I'm glad you mention the takeoff presentation side of things.

Being able to get an automatically produced set of marked up record drawings that reflect your takeoff adds a really nice touch to what you can send back to clients (link below for anyone else reading this).

  ### 5. Easy to Use, Great Customer Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

Countfire is very simple to use and its cloud-based ability is great for on the go. The customer service has been excellent by fixing any issues/concerns within the day. Highly recommend.

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

Haven't had any dislikes about the program yet. I had some suggests on how to improve (adding a bid date column to sort by) and within a week that request was fulfilled.

**Recommendations to others considering Countfire:**

Do the free trial. Watch the videos they have created and then sign up!

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have moved to a remote position within the company so reviewing physical plans was not an option. Our company mainly measures out lengths of pipes and wires and Countfire has been absolutely great for this aspect. Love theat I can download and share marked up plans with customers or coworkers.

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> 🔥Thanks—what an amazing review to read!

Sounds like you're really getting the most out of Countfire.

Love that we were able to release an improvement with such a short turnaround time also 💪

The marked up output PDF files are a really nice touch for customers and coworkers too. I've added a link below to our help centre article on these in case anyone reading this wants to know more.

  ### 6. Count fire

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael M. | Estimating Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

The speed of the software and the customer service

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

Measurement element needs to be improved. Counting element of the takeoff is an unreal feature.

**Recommendations to others considering Countfire:**

You must test this software to observe the speed of takeoffs and the quality of customer support.

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Countfire's software speed in the takeoff element is the best in the industry. No other software can compete on speed, accuracy, and breakdowns of quantities. The larger the job, the faster the software works as it reduces the labor time required to count drawings.

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks Michael—what an amazing review! 🔥

The way we approach automatic counting is industry leading for sure 💪

I know what you mean about the linear & area measurement side of things. There are ways for us to introduce more automation to help further there and have an open feature request relating to it—I've added your vote.

  ### 7. Making my job quicker, easier and more organised.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jake K. | E, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

The ability to take off one symbol and for that symbol to be counted throughout an entire set of drawings.

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

When you forget to put a scale in a drawing, you aren't warned before processing. It would be nice if, before exiting the drawings, it asks if you meant to include a scale.

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can take off whole projects quicker with the selection function. All my quantities are in the same place as well on the produced spreadsheet and are easy to read. I also like that you can add multipliers.

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks Jake—really appreciate you taking the time to leave a review!

With scales, the scale field will actually turn orange if you've got measurements on a drawing but haven't yet entered a scale, but I appreciate that might be a little subtle.

We also show a warning in the Excel spreadsheet (we turn any cells red if there are measurements but no scales). We also put a fairly bolt red warning at the top of the sheet saying "No scale".

Adding a warning when exiting drawings is an interesting idea though. I've created a feature request for it and added your vote to it.

  ### 8. Unrivalled Take off

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

The simplicity of countfire is what sets it apart from other take-off softwares, we did a great deal of trails on other software, and countfire really is miles ahead of anything.

The automatic count is highly accurate, quick, and easy to use. Another great feature is the background switch which enables all the distractions to disappear.

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

Nothing to dislike on countfire, however if there ever are any issues the support is great and will sort this out promtly.

**Recommendations to others considering Countfire:**

Get a trail, you will be sold on it very quickly

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coming from manual take off the obvious main benefits are time (money) and accuracy, everything is backed up and online so old projects are easily revisited without having to rummage through a filing cabinet.

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> 🔥 Unrivalled takeoff—what an amazing review to read!

We've got estimating in our DNA with roughly a third of the team being former estimators and so we know how critical accuracy and speed are to estimators.

Our entire support team have some form of estimating experience also, meaning we're able to both build software that really solves the pain estimators experience, and as you allude to, provide really good support along with it.

While it's newer than it's older takeoff brother, we've got an estimating side to Countfire now also and we think our unique approach there is unrivalled also!

  ### 9. Great tool! Every take-off takes seconds and it gets the job done in minutes!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emil P. | International Lighting Project Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

Software is very user friendly and intuitive, it does what it`s intented to do very well

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

mainly that some drawings works slow but that has improved over time

**Recommendations to others considering Countfire:**

I would recommend Countfire software to anybody struggling with time and getting take-off work out through the door! Countfire made things quick and easy!

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

quantifying lighting fixtures takes much less time compared with what it was before, productivity skyrocketed since using countfire

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks Emil! We actually entirely overhauled our PDF preparation engine recently and among the many benefits, performance on particularly complex PDFs has been improved further.

I've included a link below which outlines more benefits of this work—we're really happy with the results!

  ### 10. Next Generation of Electrical Estimating

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charlie S. | Electrical Estimator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

The time saved in automatic take off meaning more time to focus on other aspects of Estimating.

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

No fault of the software, but drawings that are not suitable to Countfire as they have been processed as one layer meaning manual take off.

**Recommendations to others considering Countfire:**

Great way to save time on manual take off, especially with the shortened Tender periods we are seeing in this time.

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to split into demarcated breakdowns post tender if needed.

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks Charlie! Splitting of quantities into different zones was such a game changer when we introduced it.

Until then, if the goalposts changed and you received a revised pricing schedule / breakdown from your client, you were pretty much hosed and would often need to start counting from scratch and restructure things.

With the flexibility of zones in Countfire, you can restructure your takeoff on the fly, at any point during the project, and handling revised breakdowns / moved goalposts is so much easier.

With PDFs that are actually flat images, generally this occurs with less than 1% of PDFs, but as you mention, there's also a manual counting function that provide a solid backup option for taking off these drawings.

These manual counting tools also have a number of benefits over using a traditional manual counting process:

- You don’t need to print the drawings out

- You don’t need to count as you work (Countfire keeps track of the count for you)

- You can use zones to split quantities down however you need them

- You get a set of marked up record drawings that show what you’ve done

The link below has more on this.

  ### 11. This product saves hours, highly recommend

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley B. | System Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

Thes ease of the product, The technical help which is almost instant

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

Nothing the product is seamless and has been very well thought about whilst being developed

**Recommendations to others considering Countfire:**

Make use of the free demo and then sign up

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks so much for your review Ashley!

Glad you like our support too. It makes such a difference being able to go from running into a problem and speaking with someone or jumping on a screen sharing session in minutes.

Something else that really helps here is that the support team is made up of former estimators, so they've lived the problems our customers run into and speak the same language when it comes to describing issues.

  ### 12. Easy to use, accurate and reduces take off time exponentially.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Graeme W. | Electrical Estimator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

The accuracy and speed of Coutfire makes it an integral part of my estimating process. The support is excellent and the team go above and beyond to help and provide useful information and advice.

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

Some projects depending on how the drawings have been produced do not show the layers and symbols. In these instances, an automated take-off is not possible. However, it is possible to do a manual take-off using Countfire.

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Countfire expedites the take-off process and increases the accuracy, enabling more time to be spent on other critical areas of the tendering process, significantly improving our submissions.

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks Graeme! Glad you like our support. The team really do put in a huge amount of effort here.

With automatic counting, you can occasionally run into PDFs that haven't been fully designed and don't contain symbols that can be automatically counted, but you're right, we've built manual counting tools into the app (symbol count, linear & area measurements etc) and these provide a good backup option.

Using these manual counting tools has a number of benefits over traditional manual counting too:

- You don’t need to print the drawings out

- You don’t need to count as you work (Countfire keeps track of the count for you)

- You can use zones to split quantities down however you need them (see link below)

- You get a set of marked up record drawings that show what you’ve done

  ### 13. Excellent Accuracy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Johnny C. | Pre Con, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

The accuracy and speed of use. Most other software is laggy and is not quick enough to make an impact on the time it takes on manual take off.

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

I wish they did a complete estimation software that was as good as its takeoff software

**Recommendations to others considering Countfire:**

Spend time finding out all functions and specially the quick keys.

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to do manual take off which is time-consuming and not as accurate

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Really appreciate your review Johnny!

I'm glad you mention the accuracy & speed side. That's something we spent a great deal of time getting right initially, and continually tweak and improve it over time.

With the estimation side—we do!

I've linked to a short video below that outlines how estimating works in Countfire.

  ### 14. Quick and easy to produce take-offs for projects and even design systems

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Security and Investigations | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

The ability to set a radius around fire devices to confirm the correct cover

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

Would like ability to import symbols to make designing a lot better

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Countfire has definitely improved the speed of return for tender quotes

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks so much for your kind words!

The coverage area feature is super helpful when it comes to checking fire alarm schemes / visualising their coverage. It's actually pretty helpful for lighting control PIR coverage too 💪

With importing custom symbols, I know what you mean there. We've actually got a feature request for that open and I'd suggest you add your vote towards that, if you haven't already (link below).

While I can't guarantee we'll build every feature, ones that have a lot of votes do strongly influence what we build (for example, we're currently working on a new drawing overlay / comparison feature as well as better support for sheeted drawings, which has come directly from this feature voting system 🔥)

  ### 15. The best software for take-off I've ever used.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Max H. | estimator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

The efficiency has been unmatchable for a few years.
The measure tool works great.

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

Haven't got many things I dislike about Countfire. The only possible thing would be that it could be easier to see if you've missed a symbol.

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The efficiency.
The auto count is great.
The zoning is really good when I want to split different rooms up.

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks Max! We've been at this long enough now for the software to be well battle tested, highly accurate, super fast when you really understand how to drive it.

In terms of spotting missing symbols, I suspect you're aware of this already, but Countfire has a number of in-built accuracy checks and both toggling off counted symbols (shortcut = T) and checking the "symbols removed" output PDFs can really help here.

I've linked to a help centre article that covers these accuracy checks below.

  ### 16. Saves time and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

Easy to use and saves a lot of time, especially when completing tender to construction changes.

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

Sometimes it doesn't pick up symbols of same type

**Recommendations to others considering Countfire:**

Definitely give it a go

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Miss counting on light fittings - take-offs a re more accurate.

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks for your kind review!

Great to hear that your takeoffs are more accurate now. We've spent a lot of time on the accuracy side over the years and the accuracy reports that Countfire produces at the end of every takeoff go a long way to making it easy for people to verify the accuracy of their takeoffs.

In terms of Countfire not picking up symbols of the same type, one thing you can run into is inconsistency with the way symbols have been drawn on PDF drawings, with symbols sometimes differing in subtle ways.

This kind of variation is expected on construction drawings though, and the way to handle it is to make a few more selections to give Countfire more information to work with.

Each time you notice a symbol that's drawn in a slightly different way, you just pick that up as an additional selection and the software then automatically finds all similar symbols across the entire project.

I've included a related help centre article below.

  ### 17. Makes take-offs easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dean C. | Estimator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

Speeds the process up of take-offs, easy to use

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

Not a fault of Countfire, but drawing symbols need to have the same properties to work correctly

**Recommendations to others considering Countfire:**

Very good product

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Speed of take-offs & being able to check you have picked all symbols up

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks Dean. Great to hear you're getting value from Countfire!

With symbols, it's one of the inherent problems of the space we're working in, because to a certain extent we're at the mercy of what's been designed on the drawing (and how it's been drawn).

As much as possible though, we have designed Countfire to handle this uniqueness and there's a few approaches available:

1. You can hold the shift key when selecting symbols to pick up 90 degree rotations (link below)

2. You can try editing the selection and simplifying it down to it's core components (meaning your selections will find more matches across the rest of the project)

3. You can make more selections to give Countfire more information to work with (EG: if you have 10 unique Type A selections versus just 1, those 10 versions, and ones like them, will be found across the entire project)

  ### 18. Excellent software and complete game changer for our growing business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chad T. | Account Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

ease of use. with very little training i was able to integrate this software into daily use seamlessly.

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

it is costly. and i wish we could share seats

**Recommendations to others considering Countfire:**

give the trail a shot

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

time is the biggest benefit/ savings

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks for your kind review Chad. Really great to hear that it's making a real difference to your business! 📈💪

Regarding cost, I know we're not the cheapest solution on the market, however, the return on investment should be an order of magnitude higher given the unique & automated way we solve the problem of takeoffs and estimates.

Another potentially less obvious aspect related to cost is customer support. We have a team of former estimators who, on average, respond within 2 minutes to support requests and have them resolved within the hour, meaning if you run into problems or have a question, you'll both get a lightning quick response and be speaking to someone who has done estimating before.

This incredibly high level of support is always something we've felt strongly about and somewhere we want to continue to investing in.

  ### 19. Great Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

Speeds up take offs drastically and so easy to use

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

Some drawings are images and cannot be used as the automated software

**Recommendations to others considering Countfire:**

If you haven't tried it, I would recommend you do as it will save hours of time over manual take offs

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to work from home and not have to worry about printing drawings.

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks very much for your review! Great that you're saving so much time with Countfire.

With PDFs that are actually flat images, generally this occurs with less than 1% of PDFs, but Countfire also has manual counting tools that provide a solid backup option for taking off these drawings.

  ### 20. Best piece of software for electrical estimating take off and measuring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

The software is easy to use. It speeds up estimating. The transfer of data to excel in the format that is easy to use. It can be used anywhere as it is a Cloud based system.

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

Intermittent speed issues. No archive facility.

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It keeps records of takeoff, and drawings. It can print off marked take off PDF drawings.

On lrager projects its make you more productive.

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks so much for your review and great to hear you like the cloud & easy Excel export aspects.

I hear you regarding archiving projects. That one is definitely high up on our feature request list and something we do plan to add.

With intermitted speed issues, it can be a little tricky sometimes. Countfire itself is pretty fast, robust and well battle tested in this area now, however, because PDFs can contain virtually anything, and often do, occasionally we do encounter PDFs that are tricky to handle (or just contain straight corrupted file information).

It's worth noting that any software that works with construction PDFs needs to jump over the same hurdles and I'd wager given our deep experience in this area over the last 10 years, we handle things better than most.

We're actually also in the midst of upgrading a key aspect of Countfire's infrastructure which should improve things even further 💪

Thanks again for your review!

  ### 21. Great program with excellent support team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

The program makes the takeoff process clean, simple, and organized. When I've had questions, the support team has gone above and beyond to walk me through the process.

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

Drawings can be slow to load occasionally, though it is usually only a couple of minutes. Only available on the Chrome browser.

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

An efficient process for counting and organizing. Saves time, especially compared to physical print markups.

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks for you review!

With browsers, we decided to make Chrome a requirement so we can ensure things are as fast as possible.

Countfire takes advantage of some fairly cutting edge features only available in Chrome and given the resource intensive nature of loading & navigating around construction PDFs, we found the experience just isn't as good in other browsers.

Construction PDFs can occasionally be tricky (sometimes you'll encounter PDFs that are 10-100X more complicated because of the way they've been drawn in AutoCAD), however, there's a few approaches that can help speed things up.

One is to simplify selections that are complex (link below) and failing that, give us a shout via the in-app chat as our dev team can often work wonders with overly complex PDFs.

  ### 22. Senior Estimator

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

Being able to collate on take off's in a spreadsheet that can be edited.

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

Not being able to add drawing scale automatically after adding I to the first drawing. Take-off items can be deleted too easily.

**Recommendations to others considering Countfire:**

It makes take-off time very efficient, with the bonus of checking tools to prove the take-off accuracy.

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, time saved and neatness.

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks so much for your review and great to hear you like Countfire's Excel spreadsheet integration!

Bulk setting scales & adding a warning when deleting takeoff headings are fairly high on our feature request list. They definitely make sense and they are on our roadmap to add.

  ### 23. Great program

**Recommendations to others considering Countfire:**

Definitely. Worth the investment

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Enabling more tenders to be done as doing the take offs much quicker

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks Kelly. Those 4 points are pretty much the list of things we set out to create when we first started Countfire back in 2012—unrivalled customer support is the only one I'd add!

With scrolling in & out using both the pan & select pointers—you can! 🥳

We rolled out that change a few month back. I've included a link to the announcement below.

  ### 24. Great browser app for electrical estimation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julius B. | Technical Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

This tool requires no additional downloads, precise estimations and excellent at detecting same items on a blueprint.

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

Clunky at times, it takes a while to adjust to navigation.

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves a time management problem quickly counts multiple items with area separation.

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks for your kind review Julius!

In terms of navigation, we recently redesigned Countfire and streamlined much of the in-app navigation.

We have fairly deep keyboard shortcut support also and many of our users find that method of driving Countfire really quick & efficient.

  ### 25. Countfire is a flexible Tailored system, allowing for automated & manual counting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff B. | Senior Estimator / BDM, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

Countfire has efficiency and flexibility

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

Somestimes it will not read some items on drawings

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast counting and time saving

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks Jeff. I'm glad you mention flexibility. It's something that sets us apart and allows estimators to easily handle last minute changes to tender information, or their clients pricing schedule / breakdown etc—it's a hugely powerful benefit of using Countfire.

With items not being read on drawings. One thing you can occasionally run into (less than 1% of PDFs) is that the PDF can be produced as a single flat image, which contains none of the information PDFs normally contain.

In these cases, our manual counting tools provide a solid backup option for taking off these drawings, and have a number of benefits over using a traditional manual counting process:

- You don’t need to print the drawings out

- You don’t need to count as you work (Countfire keeps track of the count for you)

- You can use zones to split quantities down however you need them

- You get a set of marked up record drawings that show what you’ve done

The link below has more on this.

  ### 26. Very helpful set up

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

When you count a product, it picks up all within the drawings also, you can hide the background on drawings

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

Not really count poor fire drawings sent in

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Very quick when we are creating quotation

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks! We try to be really hot on the initial setup / onboarding side so I'm glad you found that helpful.

Simultaneously counting across all PDFs within a project is definitely something that sets us apart—it makes doing a takeoff so much faster than any other method.

Working with the occasional set of poor quality PDFs / drawings can be frustrating. Don't suffer in silence though, our team of product specialists can advise of the best approach to take and if that doesn't help we've got a dev team that can step in and often work wonders.

  ### 27. it saves me so much time and money. I cut the time needed for take-offs in half. Recommended

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Countfire?**

Doing the take-off quickly and scaling measurments easily

**What do you dislike about Countfire?**

A way to give adds and omits from different revisions

**What problems is Countfire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it cuts precious time when tendering.

**Official Response from Will Jennings:**

> Thanks! So glad Countfire is working well for you!

With revisions, it's possible to drop your revised drawings in and have Countfire use your previous work to automatically count the revised drawings.

You can then do your add and omits from the resulting automatically created spreadsheet (I've linked to our help centre article on this below).
