What do you like best about Corporate Finance Institute?
Having taken most of CFI certifications and a few from other providers I can finally leave an educated review of CFI and their teachings.
First off Iam a non-finance transfer person, and my intent is to become a PE industry professional.
Before reviewing the FMVA program, I would like to say that by subscribing to CFI you're getting access to more than one certification bundle. Each one is industry specific and very detailed. Credit rating models, bloomberg screens, mighty complex asset pricing models and entire series of focus courses (Bonds, fx etc..) are just to name a few of the good ones. They also explain where each role fits into, within the finance industry.
Now onto FMVA..
From taking multiple certfifications from different sources I can say that most of them teach the same foundational knowledge. The main difference, however is in the process.
Good analogy is foundation for buildings in a construction industry. Everyone can dig a hole in the ground and dump concrete or other materials in there. Only true professionals have a methodical and well thought out multilayered process. As the result of which the foundation is able to hold an ecosystem of floors on top of it.
CFI's teaching process gave me a financial foundation that is truly solid and grounded in expert analysis done by financial industry professionals.
It takes time and most importantly commitment to learning instead of passing exams and getting badges (which is pretty addictive I have to admit). Good luck !
