**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christian W. | CoreMedia Architect & Consultant - self employed, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about CoreMedia?**

CoreMedia is a sophisticated CMS solution. It offers a wide range of features for managing content and creating websites. It is highly customizable and scalable. I like how it supports responsive media and headless content. We've been using it for many years. No matter what requirements our product owners have had, we've always been able to make it work. It plays to its strengths in integrated environments with other systems such as online stores or customer service solutions. It is highly customizable and scalable, protecting investments in IT and infrastructure.

**What do you dislike about CoreMedia?**

Its complexity might overwhelm new developers. Also, if you choose self-hosting like on Kubernetes, you need expert skills. For content editors, the GUI should be more responsive and give more support on recurring tasks.

**Recommendations to others considering CoreMedia:**

Check out the authoring interface with your content managers.

**What problems is CoreMedia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My clients use CoreMedia to create and run corporate websites and customer service portals. Site managers benefit from authoring capabilities and features for content personalization, dynamic tagging, responsive media management, and translation workflows. They also use CoreMedia for e-commerce sites in headless approaches to leverage site navigation and rich media content for marketing purposes.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2019

**What do you like best about CoreMedia?**

Some backend features are cool, great backend search tool and methods of combining assets.

**What do you dislike about CoreMedia?**

Not much of an online comminity for help and a lot of customizations are very tricky. Can be pretty cumbersome. Not as easy to use or troubleshoot as say, Drupal.

**Recommendations to others considering CoreMedia:**

It would be easier to use a more universal CMS such as Drupal.

**What problems is CoreMedia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've created a pretty impressive flagship site!

  ### 24. Outdated CMS

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephanie W. | Manager, Digital Strategy, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2018

**What do you like best about CoreMedia?**

This CMS (or at the least the version my company uses) is in a file structure and it's fairly easy to organize content within the system (related content within folders by subject area).

**What do you dislike about CoreMedia?**

What I like about the CMS is also what I don't like --- in this organization, you cannot export URLs and all items are assigned a CMS ID. It's also difficult to delete content from the structure and the system is clunky and antiquated. Withdrawing content isn't the easiest and previewing your new or updated content is not ideal either.

**Recommendations to others considering CoreMedia:**

Make sure you have governance set up from the very beginning of your project to ensure the CMS doesn't quickly become and overwhelming archive of content. It would also be advisable to have limited roles in the CMS so that there aren't too many contributors in the system.

**What problems is CoreMedia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CoreMedia is the CMS that we use for our main website, so it has allowed us to have a web presence which helps us to meet many of our business goals.

**Reviewed by:** Nikki J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2018

**What do you like best about CoreMedia?**

I like how easy it is to understand. It is so quick and flexible to use. The screen sharing aspect is very useful for a company.

**What do you dislike about CoreMedia?**

It took a little bit for the company to learn everything. It is easy to use, but initial start up was a bit slow.

**What problems is CoreMedia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love the side by side screen. It allows you to see what’s going on immediately, which allows for easy flow of work.

  ### 28. We use Core for our DR advertising data management

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2018

**What do you like best about CoreMedia?**

It really helps to have a DR specific software when analyzing data.

**What do you dislike about CoreMedia?**

It sometimes lags HORRIBLY....but their IT support staff is very helpful.

**What problems is CoreMedia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to successfully track data and make better predictions. The more we've learned the program, the better we can utilize all of its functions. We're learning more every day. Definitely would recommend utilizing the training hours they provide.

  ### 29. Core Media System for Data Reporting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2018

**What do you like best about CoreMedia?**

Quite simple to Figure out and easy to export excel data.

**What do you dislike about CoreMedia?**

I have to pull multiple reports for one client of the same data because Core doesn’t have the ability to match it all up.

**Recommendations to others considering CoreMedia:**

I would probably go with another system that’s more up to date and refined.

**What problems is CoreMedia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clients ask to see a lot of reports,
So Core makes it easy to generate reports and analyze for certain trends. One of he main benefits is that it is streamlined

  ### 30. BEST CMS for eCommerce hands down, beats Magento and Digital River

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2018

**What do you like best about CoreMedia?**

Very fast and intuitive content management system.

**What do you dislike about CoreMedia?**

There is definitely a learning curve to learning this product.

**Recommendations to others considering CoreMedia:**

Give it a go you have nothing to lose!

**What problems is CoreMedia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to manage and close sales like a true rock star!

  ### 31. So far so good as a content management solution

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melinda H. | Sr. Director, Digital Marketing, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2016

**What do you like best about CoreMedia?**

the flexibility of the tool is great. I like that in most cases it's easy enough to be used by the content writer and does not necessarily require a web author to be able to use

**What do you dislike about CoreMedia?**

the same flexibility that I like is also one of the things I dislike about it. In a highly matrixed organization with distributed authorship it is difficult to lock down the layouts and templates and only allow for certain components to be on pages (or at least our installation of it is)

**Recommendations to others considering CoreMedia:**

the software is great and the company is wonderful to work with. I would suggest getting recommendations on implementation partners and talking with customers that used those implementation partners. They are the biggest struggle in dealing with the software

**What problems is CoreMedia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a week from going live with our new site using CoreMedia and it is leaps and bounds above the SharePoint Publishing solution we were using previously. We have been able to have a more flexible web authoring environment and it will allow for better experience once we start translating sites. The set up seems to be the most difficult, I think once we get live and are in maintenance mode the ability to share content across the site using collections and teasers will be a huge time savings.

  ### 32. One stop solution for content management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ankita J. | Community Manager, Internet, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2016

**What do you like best about CoreMedia?**

It is scalable for any size of association and site needs. It is an exceptionally stable CMS. It works with various sorts of working frameworks, for example, Windows and UNIX (Linux and solaris). Underlying php structure gives sublime extensibility and can be used to create hand crafted answers for big business level customers, partition of substance and configuration.

**What do you dislike about CoreMedia?**

Due to CoreMedia's energy, there is a great deal to oversee. Software introductions are by and large more troublesome than they ought to be. There are traps to get the server-side reserve to invigorate, yet the documentation is inadequate around there, which can prompt a lot of dissatisfaction.

**What problems is CoreMedia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool offered an all effectively united multi-site and multi-lingual establishment, cooperating like nothing else. The execution was overflowing with issues since we were attempting to coordinate it with a considerable measure of interior frameworks and the CoreMedia bolster foundation offered a lot of assistance. It permitted growing totally committed expansion based applications and arrangements.

  ### 33. CoreMedia

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashish G. | Faculty, Mathematics Deptt, Education Management, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2016

**What do you like best about CoreMedia?**

CoreMedia is flexible and quick and as a content application it is useful for marketing chunks in developed sites. The best part of this application is easy and smooth standardization of content UI-its look and feel. It is easy to maintain permissions with this application.
It is great for handing large websites with multiple content pages and sub-sites under it.

**What do you dislike about CoreMedia?**

It is complex to understand and not easy to learn by users or the editors that are not using the full wesite on daily basis. Its user interface is not easy to remember and navigation is also a bit complex.
It sometimes does not provide reliable translation and is confusing sometimes in terms of literal translation to be understood by end user.

**Recommendations to others considering CoreMedia:**

This is a good application for handling applications which are large and are handled by developers for content and not by editors. This is developed keeping developer in mind and is not easy to understood by content writers in the case.

**What problems is CoreMedia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We provide services for marketing and e-commerce solutions to users. This application is helpful as we have large website to maintain and editor or developers works on large content editing and handling.

  ### 34. Good CMS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2016

**What do you like best about CoreMedia?**

(a) Workflow process is easy to understand and follow.
(b) Fast and flexible.
(c) Allows to create easily different types of content (like teasers, articles, download objects, links, etc). Permission levels can be set, so only certain staff can upload content such as photos, videos, or audio files.
(d) Easy standardisation of content.

**What do you dislike about CoreMedia?**

(a) The user interface is built considering developers only but not contributors. It is hard to navigate and not easy to learn or remember.
(b) Formatting options are very less.

**Recommendations to others considering CoreMedia:**

I'd recommend this to everyone as it's easy, fast, reliable and gets the job done.

**What problems is CoreMedia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Increased employee efficiency. The program helps streamline the web development process and works to achieve fast, consistent results. The input to output is consistent - when editing for a webpage, you know what to expect.
