BQE is very customizable in many regards to work with the systems we already had in place. It simplified and streamlined nearly everything. It also offered us many new tools which we havn't yet full implemented yet. The implementation is a change for how we had done things previously, but a change for the better since we can now distrubute and desminate information about a project more easily to everyone. We use it daily to track time. As we get new projects in we are asking more questions to set them up right from the beginning, to allow us to understand what type of template would be best. Whenever we have a question the support team is really quick to get back to us. The training was pretty good too if you're completely new to a system like this, but I found it was most beneficial to those implementing the software, like managment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about BQE CORE? There are a few things that just don't quite jive together. When working with allocations and forecasting, unless the time peroid is set-up correctly, the tasks don't show up in the forecasting. Example, we have a project which is under construction for nealy 3 years, and unless the time period we set to include the start of that task, it doesn't show up in forecasting. which is frustrating when trying to forecast for the week, or month. Also, budgets for hour allocation are not easy to develop. We found ourselves flipping between a number of pages, our fee for the phase, etc. Our expectation is that you would have the information on hand when setting those figures. It is in the software, it's just not present at the time you're making those budget decisions, and so having multiple tabs, an excel sheet to calulate the hours or a calculator is still needed. Roles, you can't set budgets based on a role, it has to be assigned a resource, while sometimes we're not sure who will be working on it, but it will need an "Architect", or a "Technologist", so we end up picking someone from the team, even though they may not be be them in the end, or perhaps it might be them with some support from others. BQE lets us gather more detailed information on where our employees are spending their time. It allows us to budget our time, and then evaluate if projects are going well or not in real time as the time is spent. CORE is an all-in-one site to manage so many moving parts of an architecture & design firm. With its intuitive functions and support from its staff, you will gain skills and stronger project management in a short time. It can help control time spent on project activities and help manage the time entries of the project team through time allocations. As the new tools roll out and come with a simple flow to access them, it's led to an increase in our use. The training and instructions, field descriptions, and community blogs that are available, help learn all that comes with it and also supply best practices. At the very base use, it takes less than 20 minutes to get staff accustomed to finding time entries, project information and even more. Many software our company uses, we have to develop instructions for our staff; CORE supplies those in nice, digestible bits. Integrating CORE is quite simple and painless. Recently using CORE to manage budgets helps supply reports and information that was in the dark before. We've been able to challenge our studio leadership with the implementation and use of project data that comes from CORE. On a daily basis, and project leader can review the time entered toward a project and also see real-time expenses, vendor bills, bill payments, and invoice payments. It's a secure location for information to be dispersed. Giving the right level of access to each came so easily with the help of the support staff. Having access to support via chat, phone, email, and more, helps so very much. They help to relieve and resolve problems that seem overwhelming in a matter of minutes. They have knowledge and suggestions for how to accomplish what you're after. I haven't had this level of support from any other service we use. I'm overly grateful to have CORE as a tool to manage my work. CORE is used daily, for administrative work and for project management. Our entire team logs in at least once a day. What do you dislike about BQE CORE? Movement between windows like selecting a new tab or item on a page moves forward on the same webpage. Clicking a link and opening a new page would be helpful because the information on both pages shows quick solutions and tips & tricks. A few other frequently used menus and areas that need to shift this type of UX. Budget and other project financial projections need to be more comprehensive and easily applied. A lot of the items needed for the budget to work are collected and structured differently than we've previously kept the data. A simple, "basic" budget method/template would be great. The easier-to-access project status selection and display is helpful in quick assessments and reviews. It's helping me to share a visual track of various data points without having to go deep into a project page. More information on time allocations and billable vs non-billable time for the staff to see near and on the time card. It's helped focus the staff on the time limitations and push for completion of their work within the projected time. The best thing about CORE is that they answer when you call. I rarely have to wait to get the answer I need to both problem solve and skill build. Their trainers are encouraging and equipped and eager to support. We also like the integration tool so that we did not have to key everything back and forth between current systems. We have way more data on which to base decisions regarding project performance given time and expenses. This data supports increased accuracy when quoting incoming projects. Project Managers also know exactly what subcontractors have billed and if we have invoiced clients for those services. The customer service team is always helpful when needed and I know they've put a lot of work on the back end to fix some of the recurring issues, but it still happens and interrupts our workflow. 2) Reports. CORE does have a great selection of reports, but when they are missing a certain filter or presentation type, we have to ask for a custom report which costs extra money. Rather than tracking hours on timesheets for the purposes of payroll, we are able to enter them in CORE which then can be applied to project invoices which then gives us an accurate view of the project's profitability and performance. BQE core is very helpful when it comes to keeping track of time worked. The Idea of it, but the idea is a fantasy that doesn't become a reality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about BQE CORE? Ease of use, it is complicated. It is also slow and very glitchy. The training and implementation is terrible. The trainers don't listen to customers needs, they just try to get you to implement according to how they are used to doing work. Also thing like the proposal builder have character limitations and if you add a fee schedule it completely stops you form adding more text. AGain and issue reported over almost a year ago and it has not been fixed. The support is terrible, they pick up the phone quickly but they nevery help solve issues with the software. I used every day. The number of features sounds nice, but a lot of them are complicated or do not work properly. The integration with QBO is Terrible, I could not transfer hours to QBO and I had to manually export a report on a weekly basis. we are also a Canadian Company who works with both US and Canadian clients and when invoices were in USD they would not synchonized to QBO. I had to manualyl add thes in QBO after creating htem in BQE Core. This was an issue that to this date has been months in their system without it being fixed. All in All I would not recommend this to anyone. Its expensive and brutally poor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
