In other software, the outgoing invoice can be easily adjusted. We can't get the invoices to show exactly what we want on the invoicing. I've been able to get near immediate help through the website's help function. Time punching can be done while mobile or in the office using various methods like timers or timecard entry. We let our users decide. **What do you dislike about BQE CORE?** The reporting module is a bit clunky and not customizable by user at all. Can't even change the sort order in most reports or select/unselect columns of data. Minor changes to standard reports require customization by support or exported to manipulate manually. Sometimes I may want to expand a particular column (such as Description), but when I widen one column, other columns shift off the screen view making it necessary to scroll, rather than resizing other columns to keep everything fitting on screen. **What problems is BQE CORE solving and how is that benefiting you?** Using CORE has allowed integration with Monday.com. We previously used a time keeping product that didn't integrate with our project management software. Now, instead of entering information in two different apps, I can simply enter my time into CORE, and behind the scenes, the integration piece takes care of entering time for project budgets and invoicing. ### 6. I know my boss complained that the direct billing wasn't working, but that was a year ago, and I think BQE fixed it. The filters come with a bit of a learning curve and the fact that several actions require you to scroll across to the rightmost limit of the screen to "finish" the data entry can be a bit frustrating for learners. If the data has been input there should be no need to scroll to and click a button. At times, the server response is slow and leads to lagging work. One of the best parts of Core is its Customer Service which is available 24/7, and the staff is well-trained in all aspects of BQE Core. As it is subscription-based, you can purchase different levels depending on your need and customize the setting for the level of access that various staff needs. They also offer HR and CRM modules, which we do not currently use. **What do you dislike about BQE CORE?** I wish that draft invoices were a little more flexible, which they are trying to address now. I don't particularly appreciate that each phase is seen as an individual project, so the phases do not sum at the top, and if there are changes to contract sums, you need to remember to re-add everything. I am also not a fan of the write-up/down feature and wish we could turn it off as our firm does not use it - it is annoying that it automatically applies a WU/WD. **Recommendations to others considering BQE CORE:** Go into this with an open mind. There is going to be a learning curve, so be patient. Although the training is a little pricy, it is worth it, and Core customer service is there to help you along the way. **What problems is BQE CORE solving and how is that benefiting you?** We purchased this software as we needed more visibility into our projects, and we seem to be achieving that now. I take a good chunk of my day to add time to the stupid program. This is the biggest scam. Half my work week is spent filling in a time card. It has dark mode. Not much else to state. See my dislikes primarily the lack of support and easy band-aid workaround solutions for quick support that doesn't fix the issue at hand. **What do you dislike about BQE CORE?** The speed of the program, the lack of useful reports, the ZERO flow to logic in the layout and use of the platform, &repetitive steps for various parts. Poor support - nothing but workaround solutions for quick support that doesn't fix the issue at hand. The lack in interaction and information exchange inside CORE between services is lacking and poor. The CRM is poor, and no simple logic was used to build this platform. This is a poor replacement of Billquick. Allows for quick access to detailed information regarding a particular project or staff member. I love all the different filters you can use to really narrow down your information needed. **What do you dislike about BQE CORE?** It is annoying when you have to scroll to the very bottom of all staff hours in order to "Update Rates". It would be more helpful if you could just select all and then update rates. The button stays faded until you scroll to the very end. I also wish it was a little more user-friendly when it comes to editing invoices. It's annoying to have to delete your draft and flip back to another screen to make adjustments everytime you need to make a change. It would be better if you could make adjustments after the draft was generated. Another thing that could be improved would be the search function when it comes to finding codes in the time entries screen. **What problems is BQE CORE solving and how is that benefiting you?** It has helped us streamline our staff timecards, expenses and client invoices. It has reduced missed hours, incorrect charges and made billing more efficient. A lot less errors being made overall. ### 33. It was a relatively easy transition from BillQuick. The support crew is very responsive. The cost is reasonable. It is easy to train people on. The mobile feature is also nice. Custom templates is a great feature. **What do you dislike about BQE CORE?** There are little things that bother me, like not being able to manipulate what I see on Project and Client entry screens. But there are two big issues: The biggest issue is with batching invoices. While you can batch all active jobs, it takes forever, and I have to keep hitting "MORE." Also, you can only send ten at a time to draft. Which also takes forever. Once they are in draft, you can't print them. I have to email them to myself (again in groups of ten), save them, open them, and then print them. Or I can download individually PDF (which takes an unreasonable amount of time). The Gantt chart only shows one project at a time. It's useless because I can only view a small part of the big picture. Being able to view one project when we have 80, makes this a useless feature and was honestly one of the reasons we went to Core. You can't project manage without knowing other project obligations. Training support is proving to be invaluable and we are hoping that continues through our move to invoice and take payments directly from Core and only push the financial information to the accounting program. ### 47. The expense tracking allows us to bill our individual expenses directly to projects (no more expense spreadsheets!) Core also allows me to review time entries against individual projects as well as entries made by my direct reports to view their billable/non-billable rates and project utilization. Overall it has made project, time and expense management much easier for our company. We don't fully utilize task allocation and forecasting as of yet, though it may be something we look into in the future. **What do you dislike about BQE CORE?** The interface can be overwhelming at first for new users and may take time to learn the ropes and all of the features that Core offers. For project managers, the challenge is quickly seeing a project's budget allocation and usage, specifically who has entered time against various tasks. While this information can eventually be worked out, the Project pages could offer more information in a more streamlined approach. With respect to time entries, it would be useful to have a lock applied on individual projects and tasks when the budget has been exceeded, thereby preventing team members from entering additional time into a project or task without a manager's direct approval. This would help provide transparency to employees as to how much time they are billing against specific tasks and when that budget has been exhausted. **Recommendations to others considering BQE CORE:** Take the time to learn all of the features and ensure that it has everything that your business needs to improve your time tracking and project management goals. **What problems is BQE CORE solving and how is that benefiting you?** It has simplified our time management and expense-tracking tasks for all of our employees. We can quickly see the breakdown of our time in billable and non-billable amounts, and use this information to help review performance metrics over the fiscal year. We've tried other software programs in the past such as Solve 360 and Mavenlink, and even just plain spreadsheet time tracking and none of these previous solutions were able to meet the needs of our company.
