The initial setup doesn’t require deep technical knowledge, and the automatic cookie scanning and categorization are helpful for maintaining compliance without having to manually track every script. I also appreciate that it integrates with major platforms and frameworks out of the box, making it a solid option for getting a consent management system running quickly. The UI feels outdated, and as a long-time customer, I’m still stuck on an older version of the platform with no upgrade path in sight — which makes the growing subscription fees hard to justify. Logging in can be confusing, as there seem to be multiple platform versions still in use. Support is another weak point: response times are slow (typically 3–5 business days), and the replies I’ve received often suggest basic workarounds I had already considered, rather than offering any satisfying or long-term solutions. The pricing model is also a major issue — especially if you have a cross-domain or multi-language setup, since each domain or subdomain is billed separately, even when they share the same cookies. It would be helpful if Cookiebot allowed more control over scan frequency, especially for websites with a stable cookie setup where monthly scans aren’t necessary. Since pricing is tied to the number of pages scanned, allowing users to reduce scan frequency could be a simple way to manage costs on stable sites where cookies rarely change.
