"Conviva is a great analytics and operational data platform"
5/5
What do you like best about Conviva?

I have been using Conviva for last 10 years for streaming service analysis. Conviva makes it a lot easier to identify the customer pain points. Our customer support team can easily find the reason of failures which helps engineering team to debug the problems faced by our users. It is a great tool to analyze the quality of service and quality of experience for our streaming service. I love the way Conviva allows to filter under different dimensions and fields.

The integration and implementation is very easy for all platforms that we support. Not only that but Conviva support team is very easy to approach and has been very helpful whenever required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Conviva?

I don't have any particular thing in my mind but some times I feel that it could be more helpful if it can allow to add more custom data and events. For example when we want to debug some problem using Conviva, it is hard to reach to the root of problem as no debug information is available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Conviva offers real-time QoS analytics across both STBs and mobile devices, enabling rapid identification of playback issues—whether device-specific, network-related, or regional. Its granular segmentation by device type, OS, app version, or firmware helps detect regressions and platform-specific problems. The session-level diagnostics allow deep dives into individual user experiences, while the AI-powered alerts proactively catch anomalies like rebuffering or high error rates—often before users even notice.

Conviva enables faster troubleshooting and reduced MTTR through real-time data and AI-driven alerts, helping teams quickly identify and resolve issues across platforms. It supports release validation by monitoring the live impact of updates on user experience for both STBs and mobile apps. With user-centric insights and smart alerting, teams can proactively prioritize fixes based on impact and deliver better support without manual monitoring. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Conviva?

One downside of the Conviva Operational Data Platform is the steep learning curve—it takes time to fully understand the metrics, dimensions, and data model. For new users, navigating and interpreting the data can feel overwhelming initially. However, the recent addition of AI-powered query assistance is a welcome improvement, making it easier to ask questions and extract insights without deep technical knowledge. "Comprehensive and insightful platform for streaming analytics"
4/5
What do you like best about Conviva?

One of the most useful aspects of Conviva is how easily I can drill down from the main widget—especially SPI (Startup Performance Index)—to view all associated dimensions. Whether it's device, region, ISP, or player type, the ability to instantly see detailed performance breakdowns gives actionable insight into streaming health. The platform is intuitive and fast, which helps a lot in operational triaging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Conviva?

When I click on SPI in the Trends platform, all the dimension metrics (like CIRR, VPF-T, VSF-T) get collapsed or stagnated, requiring me to manually re-click and expand each individual metric again. This adds unnecessary steps and affects the flow of quick data exploration. It would be great if these dimensions stayed expanded or loaded dynamically based on the initial SPI click. "Powerful Real-Time Insights for Video Streaming Operations"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Conviva?

Real-Time Monitoring: Provides near-instant visibility into streaming issues across devices, regions, and content.

Granular Session Data: Per-session visibility helps in pinpointing QoE degradations and root causes efficiently.

Custom Dashboards & Alerts: Highly configurable for operations and NOC teams to track KPIs and anomalies.

Seamless Integration: Supports multiple video players, CDNs, and analytics pipelines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Conviva?

Steep Learning Curve: Takes time to understand the schema, build queries, and use dashboards effectively.

Limited Historical Depth: Retention of raw session data can be limited unless archived separately.

UI Can Be Overwhelming: Interface is powerful but not always intuitive for new or occasional users.

Analytics for VPF and VSF Should be like Crashlitics where a defnete pattern and visiblity of UI Should be there which help us a lot on analyzing data Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Conviva: A Game changer in Streaming Analytics and Viewer Experience Optimization"
5/5
What do you like best about Conviva?

Conviva Data platform is real-time, end-to-end visibility into streaming performance across all devices and regions. The platform offers granular data that empowers our team to proactively identify and resolve playback issues. Integrating across devices is very easy and it well documented with good technical support whenever required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Conviva?

While Conviva's data is extremely powerful, there are few areas where there's room for improvement like

Learning curve for customization: Building custom dashboard or extracting metrics sometimes required a deeper understanding of the data model. A more intuitive self-serve interface would greatly enhance usability for non technical team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"conviva review"
5/5
What do you like best about Conviva?

What I like best about Conviva’s Operational Data Platform is its ability to deliver real-time, granular visibility into streaming performance and audience engagement. The platform’s powerful analytics make it easy to identify, diagnose, and resolve quality issues quickly, which ultimately improves the user experience. I also appreciate how it seamlessly scales to handle massive volumes of data without compromising on speed or accuracy, and how its intuitive dashboards and APIs simplify integrating operational insights into daily workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Conviva?

While Conviva’s Operational Data Platform is powerful, one thing I dislike is that its user interface can feel a bit overwhelming at first, especially for new users who aren’t familiar with its depth of metrics and dashboards. Additionally, customization options for some visualizations and alerts can be limited, which sometimes makes it harder to tailor the platform fully to specific operational or business needs. That said, once you get past the learning curve, the insights it provides are very valuable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Thorough data capabilities - room for usability improvements"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Conviva?

Conviva excels at delivering real-time operational data and analytics at scale, which is a huge win for any streaming-focused business. Its ability to aggregate and normalise massive volumes of telemetry data across devices and platforms allows us to get a unified view of performance, engagement, and audience behaviour in a single pane of glass. The platform's predictive analytics have also been incredibly useful for proactive issue resolution, reducing downtime and enhancing viewer experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Conviva?

While powerful, the user interface can feel a bit overwhelming, especially for newer users or teams without a strong data background. Navigating through nested dashboards or configuring custom views isn’t always intuitive. The initial implementation was more complex than expected, and while support was helpful, better onboarding documentation would have made a difference. Also, some metrics can lag in extremely high-traffic scenarios, and advanced analytics sometimes require additional customisation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best observability and insight platform."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Conviva?

Conviva's real-time, session-level data and unified view of Quality of Experience (QoE), Quality of Service (QoS), and audience analytics is its undisputed killer feature. For any large-scale streaming operations like ours usecase, this platform moves far beyond aggregated, lagging metrics to actionable, diagnostic insights that drive immediate impact.

- The ability to drill down into individual user sessions, see exactly what happened (rebuffering, startup time, bitrate changes, ad impressions, network conditions, device types, locations) as it's happening, or moments after, is unparalleled. This has drastically reduced our Mean Time To Resolution (MTTR) for critical playback issues. We can pinpoint if it's a specific CDN node, an ISP bottleneck, a device-specific player bug, or even an ad tech issue. This helped us to optimise our MTTD and MTTR in big way.

There's a steep learning curve to effectively navigate the dashboards, build custom reports, and interpret the insights. It often requires dedicated analysts or engineers to fully leverage its capabilities. Our team slowly gained the expertise into it.

- Conviva bridges the gap between engineering, network operations, content, product, and even ad sales. Everyone can look at the same data points – rebuffer ratio, video start time, ad fill rates, error rates – and stop the finger-pointing. This shared understanding fosters immense cross-functional alignment.

Proactive Alerting: Customizable alerts based on real-time metric deviations (e.g., sudden spikes in rebuffer ratio for a specific geo, device, or content asset) allow us to proactively address issues before they impact a widespread audience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Conviva?

- It's a premium product, and the pricing reflects that. It's a significant investment, making it less suitable for smaller streaming operations or those with limited budgets for advanced analytics. The ROI needs to be clearly demonstrated and consistently tracked.

-The sheer volume and granularity of data can be overwhelming initially. There's a steep learning curve to effectively navigate the dashboards, build custom reports, and interpret the insights. It often requires dedicated analysts or engineers to fully leverage its capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
