The ConvertAPI service is a company that specializes in helping businesses convert data into various formats, including PDFs which we use. They have access to the latest technology and are experts in the field of data conversion. One of the main benefits of an API service provider is that they are experts in their field because they have special training for a specific type of task. The ConvertAPI PDF export API is an example of this - they can convert almost any type of file from one format to another. We use the pre-paid plan, which allows you to use credits for using the service at any rate you need and not have to worry about fluctuations in usage. E.g., we are not charged a monthly premium when the service is not used. The resulting PDF files are accurate to the source, and the API allows an easy connection and retrieval of the file. On rare occasions we had problems with getting a response from the service but support was quick to respond and followed up. It would be good to have more options in the statistics and reporting part of the control panel. In 3 words: It just works and keeps on working ;) We use it in a Zapier complex automation loop to convert Google Docs and an invoice to PDF among other things. Finding a solution that requires little to no setup, works time after time and is reasonably priced is pretty tough - and I should know, I tested more than 5 solutions before finding ConvertAPI. The only area of improvement that I could even nitpick around and this is being overly critical is the fact that conversion times vary somewhat at times and it would be easier to predict budget if they were truly the same each time for the same types and sized documents. Well, I needed to be able to convert to PDF in a Zapier workflow in a reliable way and I tested 5 other Zapier 'PDF' solutions and none of them worked as well or were as flexible with their free plan to allow me to 'test'. As these resulting emails that contains these documents need to not be editable, conversion to PDF is obvious and a solution like ConvertAPI makes it easy peasy. I love the ability to get just pure text from a PDF! It may be my favorite thing about the app! While I did not use the watermark feature at all, I know another member of the team used it frequently for media purposes such as electronic posters and powerpoint presentations. Also I do think that it would be beneficial to have a more thorough and user friendly demo area where users could play around with the various tools that ConvertAPI has. ConvertAPI's documentation was perfect, so we didn't have any questions while integrating it to our CRM system. Second benefit of ConvertAPI is that it gives great product for a great price. We didn't think a lot when we found it and just became their customers. For it's benefits we couldn't find anything better. Third is that when using ConvertAPI, while converting .docx files to .pdf files, we could offer overall better solution for our customers, because almost every customer of ours uses our automatic document generation solution for their contract, commercial offers, invoices and other documents. It doesn't take long to convert, but sometimes, when you are in a hurry, it gets a bit irritating when you need to wait just to get one document. But it's not like you need to wait few minutes. With ConvertAPI we can convert those docx files to pdf for our customers. Before using ConvertAPI we had custom solution for document converting. It did it's job, but it wasn't perfect, because sometimes it sort of corrupted files and after conversion, no pdf reader softer could understand document's pages (it was like one huge page). So we decided to leave these development & server management tasks for ConvertAPI and focus on what's more important for us.
