"Control-M is the easy and better way to automate the tasks"
5/5
What do you like best about Control-M?

Identifying the manual tasks and easy to understand the requirements. Once we schedule the identified manual tasks based on the application owner requirements then we no need to login to the server and perform it manually. Control-M will perform the tasks and notify us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Control-M?

The latest web version from Control-M v9.0.22. This is very complex and who are already familiar with Control-M desktop client may feel more confuse. Many more components are not available in web interface compared to Desktop client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like best about Control-M is its powerful automation and centralized workflow management. It allows me to schedule, monitor, and manage jobs across multiple systems from a single interface, which makes operations much easier and more efficient.

Overall, Control-M significantly reduces manual effort, improves accuracy, and saves time, making it a reliable tool for managing complex data and business workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Control-M?

One of the main drawbacks of Control-M is its complex initial setup and learning curve, especially for beginners. It takes time to understand the interface and configure workflows effectively.

Additionally, the licensing and overall cost can be high, which may not be ideal for smaller organizations or teams with limited budgets.

Another area for improvement is the user interface, which can feel slightly outdated and less intuitive compared to modern tools.

Lastly, while Control-M is powerful, troubleshooting issues can sometimes be time-consuming, particularly when dealing with complex job dependencies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable Enterprise Orchestration with Centralized Visibility"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Control-M?

BMC Control-M is a highly reliable, enterprise-grade orchestration platform that can be used to automate and schedule legacy jobs, as well as model cloud-native workflows. The GUI offers centralized visibility and monitoring, which is very useful for administrators and helps deliver observability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Control-M?

I find the licensing and implementation costs exceptionally steep, which makes the product difficult to justify for smaller businesses. While the feature set is extensive, it often requires formal training to use effectively, and the legacy desktop interface can feel clunky especially when compared with the more modern web view. "Efficient Scheduling with Room for Interface Improvements"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Control-M?

I like the interface of Control-M. It's pretty fast, especially the desktop interface. I also like the planning features, like getting an estimate for when a job will be completed. That's very useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Control-M?

I feel like loading a lot of jobs is not that great. There's a lot of delay when I go into the monitoring section. It first renders a default view, then takes time to take its own shape. I also don't like dragging a lot. I have to drag towards the map quite a bit, and if I see a connection between two different jobs that are far apart, I have to scroll all the way through. There's no easy way to click back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Job Scheduling and Seamless Integration"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Control-M?

Control-M makes complex job scheduling simple. I love it's intuitive interface, strong automation capabilities, and the way it integrates seamlessly with multiple platforms. It saves time and reduces manual effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Control-M?

The initial setup and configuration process can be somewhat complicated for new users. Additionally, the licensing costs are significantly higher compared to other tools. What I find most frustrating is the column width and sizing in the self-service section. While many features have been carried over from CCM to the web version, the configuration windows remain quite small, making them difficult and frustrating to use.
