The tool navigation paths are somewhat blind and take you in undesirable directions. The calendar and Campaign scheduler also experiences some lagging issues. And I will say the replacement team went above and beyond to get on board. And though our managing editor and account manager are always willing to support this request, it would be nice to see writer profiles across the platform and not just those that are assigned to our talent team. **What problems is Contently solving and how is that benefiting you?** A one-stop source for our content needs. With four sites, varying audiences and objectives, and cadence/volume, we wouldn't be able to manage internally. One can easily set up a story, a production calendar, request talent, etc. You can easily create standard workflows or customize based on the specificity of the project/content. And as an administrator on the account, i am able to easily track the progress of every story/production. The team managing our account has been very attentive and easy to work with. They have had some turnover in the past year but with each account representative there is an immediate connection and an urgency to help resolve issues and take the relationship to the next level. **What do you dislike about Contently?** For bigger engagements/productions, there is a lag time in payments to freelance producers. On a couple of occasions where we were leveraging new producers, it put a wrinkle in the relationship due to the delays in payment. Also, Contently accounting protocol on how an account is invoiced and/or credited changed a year+ ago. I understand their reasons for the change but it makes tracking invoices a bit difficult from our perspective. We have yet to explore the option/ability to connect the Contently platform to our content management system. We hope that this is something we can explore in the near future. Currently, we have to download the story into either word or email to then bring it into our network for editing and reviews. I know that Contently has released a lot of new functionality over the past year+ but we have not been able to explore that on our end as of yet. I do struggle with the ability to pull up a freelancer/producer to see how much in total has been assigned and how much has been paid. I can see a list but it requires me to go into each and every story to see the amount paid. I also then have to count the list of activity. **Recommendations to others considering Contently:** Yes, I do highly recommend Contently if purely from a freelance network perspective. The network is vast and you can easily set up an external writer/producer onto their platform. The production/workflow is easy to use and track. **What problems is Contently solving and how is that benefiting you?** This platform has allowed us to onboard content producers/freelancers fairly easily and quickly. It cuts down on our overall production time. Our internal onboarding process creates significant delays in production time. The Contently platform helps to alleviate that as many of the producers/freelancers aren't equipped to go through a full security review or have the instructor to execute invoices through an Ariba (accounts payable system) process. As a Managing Editor, I am also able to track the progress of different content based on the workflows that are created for each story. In addition, we are easily able to distribute a 'pitch' request to our network of freelance writers. And lastly, if we are in need of a specific type of freelance writer or any additional needs, the 'Talent Request' process is very simple to navigate. We've leveraged the Talent Request to find copy editors, specific content writers and photo editors. Through our relationship and successful use of the platform/network, we have been able to onboard other business units within the company who have similar needs. There are 4 other business units that have onboarded with Contently and a potential 2 more businesses that are exploring the platform. Many are in need of specific writers and the network is vast. In addition, the platform allows us to onboard our own freelance writers we may know of. ### 15. With respect to its platform it is intuitive and easy to use. It gives me good space to show the works and locate new releases, opportunities among others. Sometimes I have some difficulty when I paste a link, it does not extract the image or the correct description of the page, I have to adjust it manually, it would be great to be able to fix this function. The ability to pay content producers through the system relieves a ton of headaches. The writers are average to above-average. The calendaring tool is a great way to organize projects internally. **What do you dislike about Contently?** The cost is prohibitive for all but my biggest clients. I wish there was a way to separate writers and content producers in to "quality tiers." As it stands, everyone is lumped together. I'd be willing to pay more, for example, for someone who's written for top-tier publications. **Recommendations to others considering Contently:** Make sure to thoroughly review a creator's portfolio before committing to work with him/her. Users' final work product may have been heavily edited.
