"Customer Service is Non-Existent. They don't appreciate a 14 year client!"
0/5
What do you like best about Constant Contact?

It's just a service that has seem to have lost it's sense of loyalty to it's customer. Basically, It's the lesser of all evils! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Constant Contact?

I've been a faithful user of Constant Contact for 14 years, maintaining both a Partner Account and a second account for which I paid a hefty $250.00 per month. However, my long-standing loyalty to this email marketing platform was severely tested when they made some abrupt policy changes in September. I found myself in a frustrating situation that truly highlighted the company's lack of consideration for its dedicated customers.

The trouble began when Constant Contact sent out an email notification regarding these policy changes, which I regrettably missed. Upon realizing the consequences of this oversight, I decided to reach out to their customer support for assistance. Little did I know that this would be an incredibly disheartening experience.

My initial call to Constant Contact's customer support had me waiting on hold for over an hour, only to get disconnected without any resolution. Frustrated but determined, I dialed their number once more, enduring another 32 minutes of hold music before finally speaking to a representative named John from the "partner team."

Hoping for some understanding and goodwill from a company I had faithfully supported for over a decade, I inquired if there was any possibility of receiving a concession for the two months of additional $18 billing I was being subjected to. It seemed only fair, given my 14 years of unwavering patronage.

To my astonishment, John's response was not only disappointing but also downright disrespectful. He displayed an unapologetically condescending attitude and appeared completely uninterested in addressing my concerns. At one point, he callously remarked that he was "just there to answer the phone," essentially conveying that he had no intention of taking any action to resolve the issue or offer any compensation.

This encounter left me incredulous and deeply disheartened. It's disheartening to witness a company like Constant Contact, with such a long history in the industry, displaying such blatant disregard for customer loyalty. The lack of empathy and willingness to accommodate a long-term customer speaks volumes about their priorities.

In conclusion, my recent experience with Constant Contact was nothing short of disappointing. Their indifference to the loyalty and trust I had placed in them for 14 years was a bitter pill to swallow. It's a stark reminder that some companies seem to have forgotten the value of customer appreciation and goodwill. If you're considering Constant Contact, be prepared for a tough and unsympathetic customer support experience when you need it most. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Constant Contact has Gone to the Dogs - They No Longer Care about their Customers!"
1/5
What do you like best about Constant Contact?

I've been a Constant Contact user since 2009. While in the past they offered incredible support and were caring and attentive to their client's need, they no longer seem to care! They are now charging for the number of emails you send out. They caught me off guard because now you have to add more work to your day by having to monitor how many emails (contacts) you've sent out. I called Billing for the overcharge and they just said, 'well, it's the way we bill now" - It didn't matter to them that I've been a customer since 2009.

I asked to speak to a supervisor and they said that he would have to call me back in 3-4 days! Constant Contact is now a Poor Service company like many other companies have become!

I am actively searching to switch to a company that offers better support and that really cares about it's customers! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Constant Contact?

Their lack of respect and appreciation for customers like me who have been with them since 2009. Their new billing system is awful. They should've grandfathered me into the old price. Also, now the new Event Tool doesn't let you export the entire list with all details... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Interesting Customer Retention Practices."

What do you like best about Constant Contact?

The reporting of each campaign is useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Constant Contact?

It is beyond belief that an E-Commerce business, where you interact with no one when establishing the account, requires you to speak to "the department that handles that." when you want to close the account.

Their own process outlined in the Q&A section, states that they will not pressure you into staying - not my experience!

They try to convince you that the reason they need to speak to you is to "ensure your security." However, there is nothing in that call that even resembles security, but there are many questions about how they may be able to help you better use the product.

For 2023, sales tactics that were the norm in 2013 show the actual maturity of this business. "wink wink".

It is actually pretty sad. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"CONSTANT CONTACT IS TERRIBLE SINCE MOVING SUPPORT OVER--SEAS"
1/5
What do you like best about Constant Contact?

It's cheap, but you get what you pay for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Constant Contact?

Continuous bugs, problems and incompetent over-seas support.

Automation email tool simply doens't work properly. Emails don't get sent on time and apparently they have no idea why.

Some other lowlights: when you call the main number, an automated attendant answers, claims that it understands full sentences, but then doesn't respond even to "support" or "help."

Then if you do get through by pushing the "0", you're put on hold for a long time, and it often disconnects you.

Every time I enter a support chat, I have to restate the same question over and over again because the Indian support staff seem to struggle to understand english.

In the good old days, Americans in Ft. Collins, CO answered the phone and supported everything and did a great job.

Constant Contact has gone way down hill by trying to outsource and save money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Constant contact cannot get my email automations to work correctly despite hours on the phone."
0.5/5
What do you like best about Constant Contact?

nothing so far, i have not had a positive experience and am in search of a new company to handle my automations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Constant Contact?

inconsistent customer service/support that does not care to solve your problem. Their only job - the ONLY thing I'm paying them for - is to send automated emails to my subscribers. They constantly say "we're working on it, give us four business hours" and then nobody calls back, and when I do get ahold of someone it's as though i'm describing the problem anew. it is crazy making and a huge waste of time. "Service has gone down hill for years"
1/5
What do you like best about Constant Contact?

The only thing I like is the login. Since signing up for the service in 2009, every change I've been forced to accept has made it harder and harder to use. I'm fed up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Constant Contact?

I've been with Constant Contact since 2009 and it's gotten steadily worse in usability. First it forced me to change to a new editor. Then it did away with a great system for handling images. Now it just plain sucks and I'll probably be ditching it for something else in the very near future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"STAY AWAY! These guys are thiefs, they are running a scam in there."
0/5
What do you like best about Constant Contact?

They have good reports and contact management tools, but they are thiefs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Constant Contact?

I've been a Constant Contact subscriber for many years now, I'm guessing about 10 years now, but it's getting crazy people! I mean these guys really suck.

My list goes from 12,000 to 15,000 emails most of the times, and I send about one or two emails per day to each of those emails since we send news.

I normally prepay for 6 months at a time to save that extra 5 or 10 percent since these guys are already one of the most expensive services out there, but this month I got an extra charge to my credit card of more than 500 dollars.

When I asked support, they said that I had surpassed my email sending limit which was a total of 360,000 emails per month and I sent more than 700,000. So these guys are charging me for every one of those extra emails sent. This is the same amount of emails I send each month and never before I got a crazy charge like this.

This is a total scam, like I said before I've been a client of constant contact for many many years now and this happens, without any notification from them! and at the middle of a 6-month prepaid term which will end in February.

So now, I can't use constant contact because I know I will go over my send limit every month and I will have to pay an extra 500 dollars each month, and I have already paid for the service until february so I basically lost 800+ dollars with these scam.

Am I pissed? Of course I am, I'm seeing red.

I understand these guys changing the rules but not on the middle of a billing term, and not without giving the option to clients of cancelling the account and getting a refund. This was just a plain robbery. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from RJ McLaughlin of Constant Contact

Hello Oliver,

We apologize if you weren't notified, it's our understanding that customers that would be impacted by this would have been notified prior to the change. However, we reviewed the account and saw you've already worked with our Billing team and that a refund has been issued. It can take a few days for a refund to process, so if you don't see it eventually, please reply to the original confirmation email you received about the refund or send a message to social_support(at)constantcontact(dot)com and we can follow up.

"Limited features"

What do you like best about Constant Contact?

It's easy to send marketing materials to a lot of people at once and convenient for storage of data, emails, and documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Constant Contact?

The website seems a bit outdated. There are never any updated style features which makes it seem primitive. Sometimes my links don't work when I send them through CC so that's a stressor. I often have to resend links through my email.

It seems like no one really works for CC kind of like no one is running it or would be available for questions about the website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from RJ McLaughlin of Constant Contact

Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback! We would love to hear more about what style features you are interested in. Please send an email to social_support(at)constantcontact(dot)com with your account username and a reference to this review. Additionally, provide more details about the links not working. Do they not stay hyperlinked? Does the issue only happen after an email has been sent? Do the links work, but go to an error page? Any additional details you can provide would help us troubleshoot the issue and hopefully come to a satisfying resolution. We look forward to hearing from you!
