What do you dislike about Conga Composer?

Minor accidental formatting changes inside a Word template (like an un-nested tag or invisible font style on a field bracket) can break the merge process or cause strange spacing glitches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Accurate Proposals—But Pricey and Support Could Be More Accessible"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Conga Composer?

The speed and accuracy of proposal generation. It saves valuable time and costly resources. I no longer need to create my own templates - they can be auto populated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Conga Composer?

The cost is fairly high, but it’s not the highest on the market. I wish technical support was easier to access. I wish it was offered on Mac operating system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Conga Composer APIs for Branded, Multi-Format Document Generation"
5/5
What do you like best about Conga Composer?

What I like most about Conga Composer APIs is their flexibility. We use these APIs to fetch data from the Conga Advantage platform, which has helped us achieve our desired use cases such as applying conditional logic, maintaining consistent branding, and generating documents in multiple formats like Word, PDF, Excel, and PowerPoint. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Conga Composer?

One area that could be improved is the initial learning curve. For new users or developers, understanding all the available features, configurations, and API options can take some time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Conga Composer Streamlines Salesforce Documents with Smooth Integration and Helpful Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Conga Composer?

Conga Composer helps turn Salesforce data into finished documents without extra steps. It allows teams to create proposals, quotes, and other files by using structured layouts instead of manual formatting. The tool works smoothly with Salesforce and fits well with other Conga products. When support is needed, responses are clear and helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Conga Composer?

Setting up document layouts can take time, especially when documents have complex formatting. Small changes sometimes require multiple tests before everything looks right. New users may need some time to understand how templates and data mapping work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Composer AI Features Makes Day to Day Task Easy with Easy Prompts and Quick Responses"
5/5
What do you like best about Conga Composer?

Composer now supports AI features through which we can standardize processes and provide prompts to Composer AI, which then performs the work automatically, saving time. One such feature is that with AI, we can create contracts, generate them, and send them using a single prompt, where we can include custom information specific to the client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Conga Composer?

Composer’s document generation process takes a long time for large-sized documents, and Conga should focus heavily on improving this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Stay away if compliance is important"

What do you like best about Conga Composer?

When you save the proposals it is easy to switch to a more thrustworthy vendor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Conga Composer?

If you take data integrity seriously, I would strongly advise against using this company.

During the years we used their software, we encountered multiple instances where data in proposals was incorrect. One particularly serious issue occurred when we sent out a data processing agreement to all our customers. The PDF download showed completely different list numbers than those displayed in the signing interface (see screenshot). This made us look extremely unprofessional. Support was not helpful, stating they “could not change signed documents.” When we argued that the PDF should accurately reflect what was actually signed, our concerns were simply ignored.

In another case, after a system update, the currency in our documents was automatically changed from euros to dollars — resulting in proposals showing 15% less revenue. Fortunately, our customers were understanding and agreed to sign corrected documents.

We also experienced issues with the Salesforce integration, where PDFs were not properly synced. Again, support offered no real solution, and we had to manually download hundreds of documents ourselves.

When we decided to switch platforms, we attempted to bulk download all contracts with their ‘bulk download feature’. The number of downloaded files matched the number of offers, but all PDFs turned out to be duplicates of the same document. We only discovered this when a customer requested a copy of their contract during the transition period. When we raised this with support, their response was simply that we “shouldn’t use that feature.”

We ultimately moved to PandaDoc, which has been a huge relief. Our proposals look more professional, editing is smoother, the software is more affordable, and onboarding was completed within a week. In hindsight, we should have switched much earlier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Document Automation with Exceptional Support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Conga Composer?

I use Conga Composer to generate documents like agreements, statements, and summaries. It's simple to use but has a lot of depth and complexity to master. I appreciate the great resources online and the Conga Composer user group that puts on monthly webinars and has an online forum for discussion. The user group is a great balance of Conga product updates and tips, along with real user stories and demonstrations. The online forum has customers from different industries sharing issues or solutions. The initial setup was very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Conga Composer?

A couple things I would like to see: 1. There are still several links in the online resources that do not work properly when you click them. I think this is tied to Conga's website update they did within the last year. 2. Some of the Conga Composer UI (and the Conga Batch UI) looks unpolished or cuts off text. I'm used to it now, but it threw me off when I started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Document Manager with Powerful Integrations"
5/5
What do you like best about Conga Composer?

I find Conga Composer very flexible to use. It integrates with Salesforce and Word, which gives me a lot of control over documents, including dynamic documents with many variables. Additionally, the connection with supporting systems like Adobe Sign and Google Drive is very convenient. Although there is a bit of a steep learning curve, it becomes extremely flexible over time. Also, the onboarding team was very helpful during the initial implementation in 2011. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Conga Composer?

I find it a bit of a steep learning curve, which makes it somewhat challenging to use initially. Additionally, a simple, quick click-and-start interface would be very handy. At the moment, you really have to delve into composing URLs where the variables are included in the URL. It would be better to see step by step which choices you need to make to then automatically assemble a 'button' or URL with those functions. Also, dynamically filling in email templates must now be determined and merged outside the template, which is not very user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
