With so many similarly named products and a lack of clarity about what product is active and retired, finding an answer on my own is impossible. **What problems is Conga Composer solving and how is that benefiting you?** Conga is allowing us to merge multiple Salesforce reports into a Word Document for dispersal to users without Salesforce access (and who have no need for Salesforce access) across the org. **Official Response from Haley Roussell:** > We appreciate your feedback about the admin documentation. Tool with many limitations **Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Mauricio C. | Tech Lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023 **What do you like best about Conga Composer?** The tool can do almost everything it sets out to do, we've been using it for several years. A nice point is that you can select tables that have no direct relationship with the object you are working with. **What do you dislike about Conga Composer?** In more complex scenarios, the tool does not work, you will need to make many adaptations to your data structure to adapt to its limitations. For example, you cannot access more than two levels down in the data structure. And the user interface is very old and poor, to configure a template you will need to have a very good notion of data modeling in Salesforce, and in other tools on the market you can do this just by dragging fields on the screen. **What problems is Conga Composer solving and how is that benefiting you?** Generation of contracts, and can also generate other types of documents, such as sales proposals. ### 4. Not Quite the Right Product for Legal Users **Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2018 **What do you like best about Conga Composer?** It seems it was pretty easy for our business users to learn how to use and once I learned the workarounds, it became easier for legal users as well. **What do you dislike about Conga Composer?** 1. There's no way for Legal to make edits to a document without having to submit it as a change request which we then have to approve ourselves. Seems circular. 2. The list of changes on the side should be presented in the order they appear in the document instead of in the order that the end user made them. It's hard to go through the changes if the user didn't make them in the order they appear. 3. The document should scroll in sync with the list of changes. It's hard to have to go back and forth and is made worse by the fact that the changes don't appear in order. 4. There's no way to handle documents that are not one of the existing templates so if we have to use the other side's paper, it has to happen outside of the system. 5. You can't upload documents that you have made offline changes to if the document is now a different number of pages than the original. 6. The edits appear in so many changes (ex: deleting one line may result in three changes) that there are too many to go through in a reasonable amount of time. 7. There are too few status choices. Basically I have to open every document to see whether it's been internally published or what stage it's at because they all appear as "open." **What problems is Conga Composer solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were trying to make things easier for our business clients, but it ended up being more work for Legal. I think if you have a very simplistic contract process where redlines are rarely made, this is probably a great product for you. Fairly fast responsive time to support tickets (even if issue isn't resolved for a few days) **What do you dislike about Conga Composer?** Support experience has gone down hill since Conga acquired Octiv. The support we received when Octiv was initially implemented was phenomenal and the reps really seemed to have a strong grasp on the product. Now it seems like I have a better grasp on some of the featured offers than the actual reps do. **What problems is Conga Composer solving and how is that benefiting you?** We're able to allow our sales team to automatically generate agreements which saves both sales and our operations teams a lot of time. **Official Response from Elise Rooney:** > Thank you for your valid feedback. I needed help with a pdf document and logged in a case with support and even reached out to our account rep and nothing yet--it has been over 3 weeks---! **What do you dislike about Conga Composer?** How no one is responding to my problems. Good software for basic automation & mail-merging, but not great. **Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Dustin O. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2014 **What do you like best about Conga Composer?** I liked that I was able to automate some of my PDF quote delivery and PDF contract sending when I was a subscriber to Conga. Support was exceptional. **What do you dislike about Conga Composer?** Lack of flexibility and high cost. I wanted to have a system whereby I could create more beautiful looking quotes and contracts. Since everything is done within Word using some mail-merge code, it was impossible to organize the layout in a way that was graphically appealing. Also, the cost was for a 5-user minimum, and as a single Salesforce user, I did not like that was overpaying. Oh, and I found it tedious to change some verbiage in my quotes, because I had to modify 7+ different documents (one for each price book), and then test, test, test each one to make sure it looked good in PDF. These things were ultimately the reason why I switched to TinderBox after using Conga. **Recommendations to others considering Conga Composer:** If you are a small business user (with just a couple Salesforce users), and you want to (1) Offer Online Quotes; (2) Graphic quotes; (3) Online Tracking of open rates to those quotes; and (4) Online quote approvals; then check out TinderBox. **What problems is Conga Composer solving and how is that benefiting you?** I wanted to streamline my quoting and contracts with Salesforce data. Conga can do this, but it's just a plain Word document template that gets made into a PDF on the fly. ### 9. There isn't an easy way to create templates. I've come across instances where you just can't create the report to get the data you want in the format you want in the conga template without creating additional Salesforce fields to work around it. Other providers allow you to bypass Salesforce reports and join objects together directly in different ways and transform the data without the need for additional fields in Salesforce. Other providers have slicker interfaces and and a more wizard driven approach and also have more advanced features. For example I had a client that used FinancialForce for their accounting. If we had gone with Conga we would have had to replicate the FinancialForce VisualForce invoice's as word templates and then have to support both sets of invoices. With other solutions you can just drop the VisualForce page into your document pack. **Recommendations to others considering Conga Composer:** Carefully check with competitors (for example Drawloop) and make sure that Conga does do what you need it to do. ## Conga Composer Discussions -
