## Confluence Reviews
  ### 1. Convenient and Easy to Use / Not so much helpful

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zach S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like that everything is fairly straightforward and the hierarchy of pages is great. Anyone can log in for the first time and basically be able to do whatever you need to do.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

I am not the biggest fan of their searching features, or at least how everything is set up within my organization's confluence spaces. You can create tags and such, but that part of the page design is lacking.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

It is totally fine - I don't have much experience with similar tools, but I would take it over salesforce any day.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is mainly used to store information for FAQs, historical changes to different builds of our software, how to guides on enabling certain configurations for our customers environments. I like that everything we've documented is in once place, although that's more of a user by user case.

  ### 2. Confluence is Clunky but could be Cool

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelly K. | Engagement Manager, Management Consulting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like this product when I think about it at its core and what the goal of it is. It is a good place for storing documents and for version controlling documents, plus for collaborating with others. I also like that it is easy and intuitive to use.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

My company's version of Confluence is so messy and confusing. It is hard to keep things organized and making the files neat is hard. Also, the search capabilities are severely lacking and return very disorganized and hard to understand results.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Be sure that you have good company policies/administrators

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to collaborate as a team and to store documents/create pages for various teams that are meaningful. We have been able to streamline processes and access things more easily.

  ### 3. Wiki content-sharing experience

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

A secure wiki-style document sharing platform

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

It's isolated and does not appear to have an option to download an icon for easy desktop access

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Create a link to a Confluence enterprise master page for easy access by staff through bookmarking.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This solves the need for a wiki site to poste relevant business documents

  ### 4. Good but the search could be better

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Punit P. | Graduate Teaching Assistant, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

The Overview Page, Ability to create different spaces, ability to comment on posts, updates that we see on regular basis. All of these makes it a really cool software.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The software still lacks a modern UI. Also, it should have a better Search feature. That's the major things!

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Please consider using the software if you have a large amount of data / processes / policies to manage.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are having a really big organization which has lots of policy. Also, there are lot of procedures that we need to follow for a customer. Having confluence ready to go allows us to refer to all of the data that is there on the software. Also, to update it for all the users and let them know about it.

  ### 5. Complicated tool

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Access from outside organization was simple.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

In installation I was using has to many areas, You never now where are documents you are looking for.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Do not implement complicated structure of documents and areas inside tools

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing and reweing project mangment documentations.

  ### 6. Powerful Tool Many Features

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allie B. | Analytics Sales Specialist, Financial Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

There is a lot of security but very few restrictions about who can collaborate together. We have the flexibility to make our own groups but also limit that content from getting out.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

There are alot of hidden features that you may not know about if you don't use frequently.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to collaborate across groups - particularly I am a sales person working directly with engineers so I can see their efforts without having to ask questions.

  ### 7. Confluence

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cristian P. | Head of Business Transformation & Procurement | Innovation Management, PEX, RPA, AI, Financial Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

It does have the possibility to customize the platform as needed for collaboration between departments.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

This is not a product at the level of other competitors like ServiceNow.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it as a collaboration platform internally in IT department.

  ### 8. Confluence can be hit or miss

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like the interface. Also the Page Tree is easy to use. Edit is simple as well.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Confluence does not save excel docs and difficult to create new. Also, moving documents is not simple. It would be great if this was a user friendly tool.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

read the manual on how to use this tool. It is very difficult to master, and I myself have issues still. It is a great tool, but hard to use.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All our standard operating procedures are loaded in Confluence. It also allows others to make changes and save the recently updated steps. This is also easy to view. SOPs are the bible of our company.

  ### 9. Great for internal workflow

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like the layout, very clean interface.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

There is nothing about this product that I do not like.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easier interval collaboration and easier to get everyone on the same page.

  ### 10. Average software, there are better out there

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like the ease to collaborate and share the information internally. It securely saves my documents such that it is not available to the outside world.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The comments section is somewhat helpful but the ability to add inline comments would be nice.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saving the information internally across teams. It is like an internal wikipedia for our business. When people leave the org, they don't take the knowledge with them as it stays here.

  ### 11. Powerful but complicated to use as an end user - a lot of set up required.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

The ability to quickly record team pertinent information and how it connects into Jira. Ability to quickly make a share and tutorials with internal members of staff.

Easily documenting and recording policies team centric and also company wide. I would hate to know how many hours I have spent recording documentation in there.

Because of the easy ability to quickly record information we have used it as the corner stone of our on-boarding strategy for new employees, when they find issues the documentation is reviewed and improved ever evolving into a better piece of documentation for future employees as a small company quick on-boarding and self on boarding to a larger extent is very important for us to maintain momentum.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

For many years Jira has lagged the necessary features to be productive without using the Markup they want you to use. Some of it is still difficult to use, for example the Roadmap features are a pain.

But it is now becoming much easier to edit and to do things with tables etc.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

If we were starting again I would probably advise not to go with confluence and to use something like google spaces that you do not need to secure and maintain. There is a lot of overhead with maintaining a system like confluence especially if you only have a small team.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing a distributed team and capturing their knowledge into our knowledge base. Communicating common policies and having a platform with revision history that is able to distribute them.

  ### 12. Confluence for workgroups and collaborative content

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexis T. | Coordinador de proyectos, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Maybe the easy setup is one of the key feature and the natural integration with JIRA works fine. It is really easy of use for basic users. The templates for software development teams fits for many kinds of projects with minimun adjustments

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The way that Confluence manage permissions is very limitated. The template features are really limitated too. The worst is that you can't develop a site templates to reuse them, then you need to rework a lot for special sites, like project management.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

if you need a quick tool to share knowledge and content with less tha 10 groups and you are not thinking in a tool with a lot content features, don't need DRM and items like that, Confluence could be your choice

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We could use a useful knowledge base site to integrate with JIRA Service Desk.
Adding some plugins, we could document project executions and product specs. The simultanusly collaboration feature works really good, then we work on meeting notes and documentation at the same time, even when we are on different places or buildings.

  ### 13. Confluence

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

This software enabled my manager and the entire team to collaborate and ensure everyone was hitting deadlines and working towards common goals.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The aesthetics of the software could be more pleasing to the eye.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving efficiency issues and realized goals that are set through the software are more likely to be accomplished!

  ### 14. God communication tool

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melanie B. | Kitchen Assistant, Supermarkets, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like the almost instant communication of changes and additions to company plans. The ability to comment on individual feeds and recieve instant feedback can be an invaluable tool.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

There are some occasions when it can be a little too much communication. I widh there were a way to opt out of communications that don't pertain to certain people. If this option does exist I wish it were easier to find.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has closed gaps in communication between departments. In a multistate opperation it's very helpful.

  ### 15. Confluence for Beginners

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

It is handy to have all the information in one place for the various categories we need.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

It's not a complaint about Confluence but sometimes it is unwieldy to find everything.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One stop for all our promotions

  ### 16. It's not perfect in the space it's in, but it's a market leader

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Machinery | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

-Confluence is relatively easy to add and edit content in
-Fairly seamless integration with many external products as well as JIRA

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

-Lacks external facing features without internal licensing
-Over-engineered 'layers' UI creates an emphasized need to use the global search feature to really find anything

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it primarily for internal project management, execution, and documentation.

  ### 17. New to Team Colaboration tool

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

In our work we keep track of projects and post were each team is and what is being worked on. Confluence allows us to pull it all together including our JIRA issues and makes them all searchable and available to all levels of leadership.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

I guess the only complaint is that I'm still early in the learning curve and not as efficient with the tool as I could be.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I kind of covered this in the first question.
We keep track of projects and post were each team is and what is being worked on. Confluence allows us to pull it all together including our JIRA issues and makes them all searchable and available to all levels of leadership.

  ### 18. Confluence Data

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I enjoy the collaborative aspect of confluence and how easy it is to share documents and info to a different part of the organization. Easy to search for anything you are looking.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

I wish confluence would have better templates and different looks for different types of sites just to make it a bit more customizable.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Confluence has been great for teams to document projects and share documents with their peers.

  ### 19. Confluence Review

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Able to see progress throughout different workstreams

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Weird implementation and synergy with JIRA even though they are both Atlassian

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shared team collaboration space with calendar views

  ### 20. Confluence

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

The web editor is ok-ish, it allows you to write down what you have in your mind in some seconds

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The web editor is ok-ish but i keep to prefer google docs.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it as a simple wiki for sharing knowledge and stuff

  ### 21. Proper documentation software

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

The best of Confluence is the way to keep your documentation plus integration of extra tools to accommodate the pages to be more detailed, as you can for example add script code, attach files, mention or tag other users, leave some comments, import any doccument, specify references, also can be converted to official doc with word or pdf extensions which can be downloaded. Segregate the documentation onto Spaces, it helps separate the pages from different departments and restricted.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The thing which I most deslike is the way to restrict the access for users as its never clear and had issues once we wanted to allow access on certain users. Other thing which didnt like was the email notification which seems like Spam. For Jira software what i dislike is the way to organize the tasks which can be messy if you are involved in different projects and the opportunities.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Strong software which will help you to keep all documentation in a safe and structured place.
As definition says: an application that was built to the requirements of an enterprise knowledge management system, without losing the essential, powerful simplicity of the wiki in the process.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Confluence helps to get your enterprise knowledge management system closer on your business and applications as it could be the main documentation reference within the company.

  ### 22. Effective but not user friendly

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Confluence is a great way to house assets and information about internal products. It is accessible to all employees within our company

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The search feature rarely pulls up what you are looking for and the ability to quickly modify pages is not very user-friendly.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company uses Confluence to store sales assets, process docs for account managers, general news bulletins, and knowledge base. It is helpful to have a central location for all of our materials, but general feedback from the staff is they can't find anything.

  ### 23. Great centralized location for Knowledge Management

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cody R. | Solutions Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Easily Organize: Allows you to easily organize the contents into sub-pages, pages, folders, and projects. So you can really drill down the specific filing system of your choice.

Great Add-Ons: Very useful tool that has plenty of plug-ins and options to add on to the tool as needed. Anything that you need, that is not apart of Confluence already can most likely be found in their App store

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Confusing UI. The UI is always updating which is cool, but things move around too much so I frequently struggle to figure out how to find things.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Good tool, but can be confusing with the UI updates

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralized location for knowledge management and now have all info easily organized and available to the team.

  ### 24. Useful, but difficult software to navigate

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

It has the capability to house a lot of valid information, which is critical to a variety of different departments.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

It is an extremely hard software to navigate. In terms of finding information that you need, you can spend a lot time searching for what it is you're looking for.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using the software in order to house a variety of information relevant to clients, customers, internal teams, and data.

  ### 25. Efficient way of managing Sprints, stories for production

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Capital Markets | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Efficient way of managing Sprints, stories for production, its essential for documentation and auditing purposes

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

can be more detail oriented, there aren't too many options for various agile methodologies, also there should be a data dictionary

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time saved
Resources Saved

  ### 26. Confluence Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rohan K. | Business Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Central homepage linking many resources for employees. Good collaboration tools. Built in page and file versioning.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The double check security to login is a pain. I would like to have the option to disable this on my main machine.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Confluence is a great tool for medium to large companies. Small companies can get away without needing this tool.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaboration for Jira and document tracking. Knowledge mangement. In addition, resource linking.

  ### 27. good, not great

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Love that we can share data across teams. Love how easy it is to create a new page or topic.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

It's the least intuitive software...they think like Microsoft. They should focus on the improving the user experience...sometimes less is more. Instead of a million options, make the 10 most common things super easy, and I don't mean some stupid button with an obscure icon...i mean, improve the user workflow. It's expensive and doesn't really translate into other types of business use.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

It's convenient b/c other useful products already integrate, but it's NOT user friendly. You will have to train people to get them to use it. I kinda think a slack-like startup will beat them pretty quick.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing data in a central, secure location. Documenting the results of research and work. Documenting things we've figured out...how-to's, references, etc. Like the code block. Figure out how to integrate slack or make it more slack-like.

  ### 28. Using Confluence Everyday

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

Our guidelines for work are completely laid out in confluence. It has impacted quality and productivity by providing an outlet for all things work related.

  ### 29. Director of support

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

what i like the best is the intuitive platform in confluence

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

the personal dashboards should be better

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

yes

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

in confluence we mainely managed bugs, tasks and priority

  ### 30. This product is easy to use

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like the interface of this product. I thought that it was designed well and it is easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

It took a little while for the product to load, but it is possible that it could have perhaps been my computer.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It made my workday easier, and my coworkers liked it too.

  ### 31. Is ok sent better

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Animation | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2019

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Nothing I like or don't like about no comment

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Alot of things man it really gets the job done the way I need it

  ### 32. A mostly average documentation platform

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erik W. | IT, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

The ability to segregate permissions across our user base and enable approval and moderation workflows has been helpful. SSO integration via SAML is very helpful, as was AD sync (if you haven't moved to an SSO solution yet). The selection of 3rd party apps is very impressive.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The relative cost of this compared to OSS solutions ultimately makes this more difficult to recommend. If your already investing in Atlassian software for multiple purposes, then this solution will make more sense.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Though Confluence is a good solution, look into open source solutions first. Consider AD and SAML integration. Invest in people and processes in place before investing in a new tool. If Atlassian is a new vendor, consider whether you are siloing your data. If they are an existing vendor, you should get some useful integration with their other products. Being a market leader has its advantages; you should be able to find all the integrations you want with other products to build-out your workflows.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The primary benefits of any team documentation platform will be realized by having a set of standards for team engagement and the right team members in place. A tech solution can't make that happen. If you have people and processes in place, then Confluence is a very competent solution to build out your team's documentation.

  ### 33. Can Be Confusing

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I wouldn't say there was anything I liked best - I did think it could allow for a lot more organization if the right person was in charge of keeping it up.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

I felt like it could be really confusing to someone who isn't used to the product. I don't think it is nearly as user friendly as it's spouted off as being...

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to use it to keep notes and processes in line. our work was changing on a daily basis - with new goals added - new steps to work through - and new teams we were working with... We were hoping to make this into a tool that anyone in the company could use.

  ### 34. Used briefly

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

The detail in breaking down different categories

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Too much information in some places, others not enough detail

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Good place to keep work flows easy to update and keep all employees abrest of current changes

  ### 35. Data centralization for everyone

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Élodie M. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

What I mostly like with Confluence is the data centralization it provides us. With a smart page arborescence, you can easily organize your business documentation and find what you need.
It is also a tech oriented tool which means that all the templates and type of pages offered by Confluence are made for IT projects. We use a lot the "requirements" page and it has very much helped our team to understand the big picture of a project and be user-oriented.
Finally, since we use JIRA, we usually link our issues in the Confluence page which is updated whenever an issue status changes. We do not need to manually update our documentation and this is time-saving!

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

However, it can be hard sometimes to format a page and insert links or files. Images can't be positioned as we want it to and they only have 3 different sizes. This is why, despite the great centralization it provides us, we consider it as a little bit archaic in terms of formatting. If Confluence could be as easier to format as a PPT document for example, it would be outstanding!
Finally, even if Confluence offers a good page arborescence, it can be hard sometimes to find the right page you are looking for. Some are hidden if not linked to a group. And the home page is not very useful.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

If you have multiple product lines or just need a one-time place for your product documentation, Confluence is a great tool.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Confluence, we are avoiding spreading documentation and data across different tools. It allows us to have a one-time place where all our documentation and ideas can be put and that the tech team can use as reference.
Our UX designer and product manager use it a lot since we write all our requirements in Confluence.

  ### 36. Fairly easy to use but could have more features

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Spencer H. | Senior Marketing Specialist, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

The articles have a very basic layout and are easy to create. You are also able to vote on different things to easily create prioritization. Being able to add comments and and have a conversation about the article is also very nice and an easy way to document what has happened and what needs to happen.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

This may just be because of how my company is using it but it's not very user friendly when trying to search for specific articles. I wish there was an easy way to get to the article that you need. It seems like you either get too many results that are impossible to comb through or you do not get enough results so you can't find what you need.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

This can work great as a centralized place to put all your knowledge on different topics. It can be used as a reference tool for new employees to help get them up to speed. It is also great for the long-term employee to use when you just can't remember little details.

The biggest thing that will hinder your usage and make Confluence seem useless is if you do not keep it updated. As you begin implementing Confluence make sure that you have a plan in place to get consistent updating happening. If it is not updated it will quickly get outdated and your companies usage will go down.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We put implementation method articles and they are very useful when working with new customers

  ### 37. Good repository

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Great place for knowledge/process sharing

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Heavily leans towards tech people - can often get confusing as to where things are

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Where our source of internal knowledge lies

  ### 38. Confluent Review

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Khuzaima R. | Research Associate, Biotechnology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Confluence allows businesses to organize their team spaces and collaboration into easy to use pages.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The website is rather simplistic and UI and it can become cumbersome to find a site within a large business.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Within our business it allows us to organize resources in a way that limits the clutter presented to users for whom no relevance exists.

  ### 39. A powerful, customisable package that may be more than you need

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard L. | Senior Digital Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

We use other Atlassian tools so the integration between them is very valuable for us. Confluence at it’s most basic is a simple tool to use with a lot of flexibiliy for displaying various types of content. We were easily able to set up knowledge centres or simple task lists. Being able to watch pages and be notified when they’re revised is essential for team collaboration.

I’m a fan of the new interface they recently launched, it makes the service more approachable and exposes key functionality.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

We use the hosted Cloud service and whilst not terribly slow there can be some delays at times. I also had some frustrations with formatting content but most were resolved with some care. I work for a small business and the sheer number of features can be overwhelming. Be they general use, set up of spaces and pages, or administration of the platform itself - there is a lot to take in which may be better suited to larger businesses.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

It’s a difficult tool to trial as you’ll only see the true benefits of it over the long term. the cloud hosting is very good value for small teams so it’s worth giving it a try (I think prices can rise quickly as you add more people but you’d need to check) but it’ll only be as good as the effort you put in.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allowed us to centralise documentation and have a collaborative platform to aid project lifecycles.

  ### 40. Great

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

It works great with integration into JIRA

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Confluence and JIRA tend to be pretty slow. The tools are great, but Azure DevOps works much faster.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Make it work faster

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for collaboration

  ### 41. Mostly Adequate

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon K. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Rich integration with Jira and the Atlassian ecosystem means I can easily keep everyone that needs the information I'm supplying, in the loop.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The interface is cumbersome and somewhat dated. Text editing in particular is more limited than I would like and the page formatting options lack flexibility.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing of information and updates in a centralised repository.

  ### 42. Gets the job done

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Many organizations have an instance so its valuable to move content around for client to client

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Dated look and feel..needs a UI upgrade. Not as capable a page design function.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Don't try to do too much with it and keep designs simple

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

General team and information sharing

  ### 43. It works

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Sharing documents is easy, given you have permissions, and collaborations are made easy! I like that all the team members can participate.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

It's hard to find what you're looking for unless you have a direct link. Also trainings for this program have no been made available, as far as I know.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communication. With teams as large as we have, across multiple shifts, this has helped bring ideas and opinions together.

  ### 44. Confluence - Undecided.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like that you can use it as an interactive tool to build upon within teams.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

I dislike that it never seems to provide me the feedback that I am in need of, but I know that this is more of a reflection of how our company uses Confluence than Confluence, itself.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides the opportunity to keep well documented information all in one place and to build upon that documentation with certain permissions (i.e. allowing coworkers access to make edits on something that you wrote).

  ### 45. Confluence - Decent Collaboration Tool

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danny H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Being able to easily create a page quickly and add in information so that it can be broadcast to all members.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Design of the application seems to be boring and outdated.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Definitely an application to try out if you need a decent collaboration tool with all the necessary features and functions.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having to manage multiple products, different teams and various projects, it is difficult to keep track of products, customers, projects and internal teams. This is where Confluence is good at; it allows members of each team or multiple teams to discuss work, managers can input and record their decisions on projects and product related issues, engineers can create custom pages documenting technical information related to all the different products, other members of teams can then comment on documents, it has many feature to allow members to collaborate as a team.

  ### 46. Confluence in my Office

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

It is easy to send links to other employees on information I find there

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

seems disorganized structure. I did not know how to navigate.I had to get a training

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we have set up a knowledge base to connect all employees together

  ### 47. Pretty good for housing internal documentation

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

It has a good search function for finding all relevant docs to a topic.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

It could have a better hierarchy structure for organizing sections and topics.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using this for all of our internal documentation related to our product, processes and policies.

  ### 48. Pretty good flexibility, but hard to find things buried in sections

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh B. | Director of Global Customer Support, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Can be shared across the org, different groups/roles can see different sections.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Hard to search compared to other solutions imo.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

It is a good solution, just feel there are other more searchable and user friendly solutions for our use.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal process documentation, team notifications.

  ### 49. Best for Documentation

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Sharing knowledge with other teammates and vice versa. You alwasy have great resource ful links when documented

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Creating the blog in it is a pain !!! Looking for something simpler on UI

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Costly if you are not buying it !

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Documentation.

  ### 50. Could be better content management

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

We use confluence as our primary documentation website. It's easy to edit and has a lot of features that make editing easy.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

I can be very slow at times, especially when saving and switching between pages. It can be hard to set up and create new pages with correct formatting.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

An inhouse solution might be more applicable for larger companies aiming to use this as their primary knowledge base.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using confluence as business documentation. It achieves that business goal, but could be easier to search, navigate and share pages.
