## Confluence Reviews
  ### 1. Powerful Document Centralization, Clunky UI

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abhishek S. | Senior Product Manager, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I find it extremely easy to share a document in Confluence and then invite people to comment there, which ensures all knowledge stays in one place across the company. I also appreciate the integration with MCP that allows us to connect to Claude, making document referencing easier across various teams, including marketing, product, and engineering. It's particularly useful that Claude can query documents across Confluence pages, providing insights

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

I mean, their UI doesn't work well. It's one of the most clunky software that I've used. I personally would not want to use Confluence, but the company uses it, and that's why we use it. It's not the most easy-to-use software.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Confluence to centralize PRDs and internal documents, making them easily searchable across the company. It's easy to share and comment on documents, keeping all knowledge in one place and accessible to everyone, thanks to the connection with Claude.

  ### 2. Great for Linking Docs, but Slow and Buggy for Writing and Formatting

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

It's nice to be able to link documents and workspaces together. Confluence does that well.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Confluence is an awful word processor. Basic features like resizing table cells or creating arrangements of images are complicated and buggy. There is a poor range of customization, and some basic features that users requested many years ago never get addressed by the Confluence developers. Exporting documents to Word does not work well. Confluence is very slow to load documents, sometimes even simple ones without many images.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Confluence is a fine centralized data storage space for a company. It's nice to have one platform to use rather than to look through folders in a file structure then open Word documents to view someone's notes.

  ### 3. Underwhelming UI, look and feel

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like the flexibility to upload any kind of doc with any formatting

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

It's very unstructured and open ended. My needs were for technical documentation which is sometimes difficult for people to write so we need to make it as easy as possible.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

New and experienced employees can be missing basic knowledge about our products, software, code base and SOPs. Confluence provides a place for us to store documentation for these users to learn about our products, softwares, code base and procedures.

  ### 4. Cloud Product is Trash, Users Being Forced Off Server (on-prem) Product

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Good platform for creating and maintaining documentation, with a wide selection of 3rd party plugins for additional documentation.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Users are being forced off a fully functional Server (on-prem) product and onto their Cloud product which is trash. The Cloud product lacks compatibility with many plugins available for the Server product, has limitations not present in the server product (nested macros), forces the use of the "new" editor, which lacks features present in the old editor, and somehow manages to render pages that look fine in the Server product in a way that just looks wrong (spacing?). This is just a small list of the many annoyances with the Cloud product that also has the distinction of being extremely sluggish.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides a platform for creating and maintaining documentation that is searchable (barely).

  ### 5. Works fine unless you are technically inclined

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Once setup at an organization it is easy enough for anyone to use and publish documentation or information about about varying subjects and can be used as a simple internal website maker

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

if you have ever built a website before it is extremely frustrating to use some of the limited or half functions that never do quite what you want or require too much fiddling to do something simple

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

internal publication in a shared space of product knowledge - to store for what we've done and save from loss of information from employee turnover - landing page for others in the company to know more about a product or service

  ### 6. Awkward last generation team documentation and knowledge base tool

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rakesh K. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

It's one of the oldest platforms - it's probably got every single usage, versioning, and administration feature you can think of.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

It's one of the oldest platforms, and it shows in its slowness, awkwardness in its editor, the convolution of its setup/nomenclature

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Product documentation - we got started documenting our product features, functionality and UI decisions, quickly realized how painful Confliuence was to use and therefore wasteful for a small team, and then switched to a combination of Notion and gitbook.

  ### 7. Confluence needs to improve ...

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nayeli M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

The thing that I like from confluence is that you can have an organized space, it has some tweaks here and there that can be use to document most processes.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Confluence is not very dynamic as you would expect, the add ons that you can add to your wiki are not good, they are not innovating enough to make confluence work. It is kind of difficult to add graphs or other kind of content like small video previews or video tutorials. Confluence makes documentation not very appealing.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Confluence is very sturdy and not so simple to use, there are other tools that can make a better job or can be more visual, we know documenting its super boring, and to have a tool that it is not very simple to use or does not have amazing resources for you to simplify your documentation job, it is really a waste of time, I really do not recommend confluence, I think it is lacking from some core features that can make documentation better, simpler and enjoyable for sure.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Documentation mainly, if you need a place where to store all the documentation from a new project you are in or just want to make a step by step tutorial on how to use your tool, this tool might help you to do so, it is not very intuitive, and it is lacking of many cool stuff that other tools offer.

  ### 8. A documentation tool that's trying to do too much

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maddie M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

My favorite thing about confluence is that you can connect "Spaces" to specific Jira projects. As an avid Jira user, that is very helpful. It keeps documentation organized among the teams especially if you're on multiple like myself.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

I'm not a fan of how many tools/options that confluence offers. It's overwhelming. Documentation is supposed to be simplistic and easy to find. Confluence is neither of those things. It's so much "Fluff" that I don't enjoy when I have to do go document something for the teams. It's just aways a pain.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

If you're looking for a simplistic documentation tool. This is not the tool for you. While you will feel that your docs are organized, be prepared to do a lot of digging through tools to find the ones you need to create your documentation.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The teams that I'm on have a central place to house their documentation. So the organization aspect of that is nice.

  ### 9. Chunky management tool getting out-dated

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan G. | UX/UI Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

The structure of the wiki page and the way cards are organized

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

the compatibility to imbed video, link is really limited.
There are some editing related usability issues

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

project tickets and management

  ### 10. Used to be good, but now most of the functionality has been removed.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I used to love Confluence, I wrote most of my pages with wiki markup, but now I'm constantly finding that I just can't do things that were simple in the past.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Markup support has been removed
No longer possible to resize tables
Code macro has been removed and replaced with a cutdown version - code snipits
Can't indent text anymore
Have to publish the page before you can put in a link to a heading
The link functionality is greatly reduced and much harder to use

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use confluence for our online documentation, but we are storing more and more in sharepoint now to to the loss of functionality in Confluence

  ### 11. Too much to dig through

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily S. | Support and Success Manager, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like that it is a great place to store A LOT of information. I also like the team section, it is probably the easiest part of the app to use. Not that there is much to do there.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

I dislike how overwhleming it can be within the app. It is not user friendly, you have to search for most things and it is nearly impossible to use as a wiki for new hires. I have since switched to Notion which is very very easy to use (Similar to trello and asana).

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Check out some of the others on the market. There are more reasonably priced, efficient choices. Notion, Asana, Trello, etc.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems were solved, it served as an internal wiki for us. The benefits are how easy the pages are to create and the team functionality. It is nice when you are in a hurry and need to transfer documentation into your wiki and its easy to do. That part is pretty user friendly.

  ### 12. Use Confluence as a CSM

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa M. | Customer Success Manager, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Its a nice way to organize internal communication though it can be clunky and confusing to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Sometimes when scrolling pages stick. Jira navigation and association can be confusing.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping updated on Jira tickets, product roadmaps, releases and feature requests.

  ### 13. Confluence is a powerful tool that can't be learned overnight

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like having a central place for the company to upload all documents, ideas, press releases, etc. Before they are shared with the public. I also like that it's totally secure and no one outside of the company will get our documents.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Confluence is not very user-friendly. We have gone through weeks of training to just get a basic understanding of the software and still it is not being utilized by half the company and those using it are not taking full advantage of all the features.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We now have a more reliable location for all important documents throughout the company, making it easier to communicate throughout.

  ### 14. Not the best

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Great for streamlining team resources and notify everyone when updates have been made. It helps aid in faster team communication and transparency.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The platform itself is unintuitive and unimaginative. I don't think its a good user experience overall and I think it could use an update or two.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Would not be my first choice

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Needs more concise search options and should have better ways to categorize information.

  ### 15. Confluence is a fair but disconnected solution

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Confluence offers flexible templates, solid sharing, storage, and easy access solutions for business looking to communicate and collaborate across people, teams, and offices.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

As a product manager, I spend most of my time in Aha! managing strategies and releases and in Jira managing sprints and stories. While Confluence allows me to record and share information, I would rather do so in Aha! or Jira to minimize the systems I have to use and the places my teams have to go for information.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recording and sharing of information. My organization has used Confluence for years, and we have benefitted from it; however, the recent increase in the use of Google Docs, Aha!, and Jira has made Confluence more of a burden than a help.

  ### 16. Confluence!

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Much could be better about Confluence. My company uses it as a "go to handbook" since there really isn't another tool quite yet and the price, is better than any others they have found.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

I don't like it at all. It is very bland and not appealing to the eye for anyone. It is terrible at searching as well. To me, it looks like a 90's style layout which also takes a long while to load up every single time.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It serves as an employee handbook for all practices across the company. Helps you find and store quick information to educate yourself if needed.

  ### 17. Atlassian makes great products but Confluence has some rough edges

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrea d. | VP of Product Marketing & Strategy, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like that it is easy to assign tasks to team members and to share updates across teams (PMM, Automation, Development, etc) with the click of a few dropdowns using Confluence.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

1. It is difficult to edit formatted or rich text documents. Improvements have been made but it is still rough.
2. The layout of information makes it difficult to find simple functions (cc; a person on a task update) sometimes. You have to search around ask a friend "where is that feature that allows you to ...?" and then memorize it for the next time. The UI is not intuitive, type-ahead search, dropdowns, mouse-overs are not where they would be most useful.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Confluence to communicate OKRs across the company.
Using Confluence to manage marketing sprints (execution of marketing campaigns)

  ### 18. Isn't the most user friendly

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like that it is one central repository for information. It is nice to have one system for it that isn't a shared drive on Google. You can also be notified when updates or changes are made to new or existing documents which is nice to have a way to be notified.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

For users, it can get pretty messy pretty fast in trying to navigate through documents. If you have a person that can create clear and easy ways to label and store documents it might not be a problem, but I have seen that when large amounts of documents and items start to get filed it can become cumbersome to find the material you are looking to find.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving the issue of having a central repository to store all of our documents and give everyone access to the documents that have been created. We have noticed that we can share tribal knowledge a little more easily by putting our documents into one resource.

  ### 19. Not a fan

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like that I can see the other teams work and we can all compile documentation in order to help each other out. It is pretty easy to use and make edits. We also have the ability to have a calendar on one of our pages and that allows everyone on the team to be able to see PTO, Travel, who is on call, etc. That is a really nice feature. It is also nice that everyone can edit and add comments on each of the pages.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Our teams is very disorganized and it is a little confusing trying to figure out how to organize it. We have played around with a few different options and it is really hard to get it right. It is hard to find things we need quickly. I really don't like the search feature. You have to be really specific on what you are searching for or it brings back documents from the entire company that has the key word your searching for. It's not a good tool in that sense when you just want something from your team.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Its a good system but just see if there are any help documents when starting with the program.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Confluence for a variety of different issues. It is a big source of communication between teams. We post documents that show step by step how to solve issues and how to communicate to other teams when there is a big issue. It also helps us to spread knowledge amongst the larger team. Those are the major benefits as well.

  ### 20. Not as good as Google docs

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kimberly A. | Product manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

You can keep a historical record of changes and edits

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Tedious and difficult to keep up to date or collaborate in real time

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keep track of projects notes

  ### 21. Ok tool used as wiki

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Central place for storing content, documents and roadmaps

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Sometimes clunky interface, without structure solution becomes a mess

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal communication and knowledge sharing

  ### 22. Confluence is Confusing

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Its easy to build, design, and link in 3rd party content. They do a good job of letting you create what you need to.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Search Functionality. It sucks. Its impossible to find anything you need using their search.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Each Org of our business keeps project files, a database of knowledge, new employee training resources in Confluence.

  ### 23. Do I have to?

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Not a lot really. Definitely not my favorite collaborative platform by far.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Interface at the time I used it wasn't clean, visibly appealing or user friendly.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

I only used this for a year so I don't feel that I can feasibly recommend much other than carefully consider all options and review how quickly each option updates their platforms.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Overlap in duties, dissatisfaction with job roles

  ### 24. Client service manager

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I enjoy the integration with Jira. Also it’s organization for a company that has several teams

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The complexity of the product. I wish it was more intuitive

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Structure, process documentation.

  ### 25. Not the best

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Ability to share ideas with several departments. Multiple people can submit. Easy to tell when items are updated or added.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Difficult to organize and search items. Items get buried and are difficult to search and find.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Access to policy and procedure by multiple departments.

  ### 26. Eh.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like the collaborative environment. I can see who made changes and audit the changes that were made. It's a good tool for sharing documentation and software updates, and links nicely into JIRA to review details of bugs and enhancements

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The search functions are terrible! It is impossible to find an article if you do not have an exact match on a couple words in the title. It would likely work better if everyone in the organization used the tag feature appropriately, but let's be honest... that won't happen. Until the search function can easily match strings in quotes from anywhere in the article and show more relevant/closer match results at the top, this isn't helpful.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaboration is the main problem we seem to have solved. Everyone uses Confluence, regardless of role. Everyone has access and can occasionally find what they're looking for - assuming it's "saved for later" or is an article you personally wrote.

  ### 27. Too complicated

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

The whole team is able to use this tool.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Ita not user friendly at all. It’s head to find things

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps see who has added

  ### 28. Could be better

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in International Trade and Development | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

The ability to create a file repository all users have access to is the main advantage of the platform.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The interface for interaction with other users is considerably poor.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Good for knowledge management, as it allows sharing a wide range of files and documents. However, it lacks quality when it comes to team collaboration, since the interface for interaction is not user friendly.

  ### 29. Confluence Review

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mallory C. | Customer Success Specialist, Education Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

You can post a lot of pages and information. We also use it for our JIRA service which works really well.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Pretty much all of it. It's not an attractive looking site, it is not easy to search or navigate. My company uses it to post a lot of information regarding our software, updates, etc... I have to book mark the pages they link to me directly, because I know if I close out of it and try to go back into confluence and find it, it will be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use confluence for our JIRA service. This allows us to create tickets when there are issues/bugs that need to be addressed by our development team. It is also a play to hub a lot of information, it is just so difficult to navigate.

  ### 30. Cluttered and disappointing

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Adding new confluence documents is relatively simple

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Search optimization is a mess, often returns irrelevant content. Formatting is lackluster.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Is serves as the repository for notes, product knowledge, and general clutter for our company.

  ### 31. Overpriced Wiki

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

integration to the rest of their software

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

the look is not that much more involved than media wiki

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

project tracking and document organization

  ### 32. Easy to Use Wiki that Tries but does not Succeed at Much Else

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Confluence has powerful features for creating and managing our company's internal wiki and intranet. Wiki formatting is advanced and easy to use, and it has beyond the features we require or use on a daily basis. The user community of Confluence means that if I'm ever looking to find out how to do something, the answer is a quick search away.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Some of the task management features that exist in Confluence seem straightforward to implement, but task tracking, user mentions, and commenting are not successful in doing much more than causing users to have more emails in an already crowded inbox.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Confluence is a very easy to use wiki and it's formatting tools create great content. Comparatively to a product like mediawiki, Confluence makes a much more modern set of wiki pages.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Confluence provides our company with an internal knowledgeable where were do some small project management, but also is the repository for all of our policies, procedures, and methodologies.

  ### 33. Confluence does not influence

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

It is easy to use and navigate. The language is clear the instructions are clear the help section is clear as well

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

It is only as effective as the people who put in the data

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It could be a very good database if you get good people to put in the data to get the answers that you'll need in a pinch

  ### 34. Mediocre Wiki

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like that it does create an online forum for documenting project work.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

I think the formatting, tools, and flexibility could be greatly improved.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

I would build or buy a different wiki tool

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Historical note taking and record keeping. It helps alleviate lost knowledge during employee turnover.

  ### 35. Works ok if you are stuck with it.

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Clean interface
Decent performance
Deep user management

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Doesn't support Markdown very well.
Unreliable with a large user base.
Editing interface conforms to no standards.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Wiki, Sharepoint

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Central hub for doc and how-to management.

  ### 36. Good idea - needs upgrading

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

The platform is good for file sharing and collaboration.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

It is hard to upload screenshots and pictures, and the file format changes when downloading to Word.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Assisted with general business needs

  ### 37. Confluence

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kruti S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

It's helps in document management for my team

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Not very user friendly and navigation is a little difficult

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Documentation

  ### 38. Overthought, difficult to use

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Ability to customize fields etc on projects

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Difficult to use, search, not an intuitive software system at all. Our engineers can navigate it easily but the other users curse it daily.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

team collaboration

  ### 39. Poor Wiki software

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trevor H. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2017

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Web-based. Allowed hierarchy. Allowed custom plugins. Linked to Bitbucket.
The idea of a wiki makes sense and it promotes companies to record information and avoid tribal knowledge.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Formatted poorly. There were no good plugins in the store, and everything cost money. We are already paying for the suite. Now we have to pay to embed a word document? No thank you. Maybe not confluences fault, but we had a bunch of "non-programmers" who were updating the same document again and again as v1,v2,v3, failing to understand that confluence does version control for them.
Also the whole thing blew out of control. We had pages scattered everywhere. The hierarchy of pages aren't obvious and the search is not very good.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

You need an administrator to set it up and maintain it. Don't expect to install it, and inmediately use it.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizing flight simulation documents and software designs. It's nice to give people links, and build a documentation tree.

  ### 40. Endless Stream of Information, Hard to Navigate

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2017

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like that our teams have a place to update information and that everyone has access to the most updated versions of processes that are written up, guidelines, and archive information.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

I feel like it is a bit hard and taxing to navigate. There are so many tabs and links in the left panel that is a bit confusing on where to go to get the exact info I am looking for.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Make sure you do a trial or test it out first to see if it's going to be the best experience for you and your team. It can be confusing to navigate, but it is also a good platform for keeping the latest and most updated versions of documents in one space. I like the face that I get emailed with updates from the groups that I follow. This makes it easy to stay on top of processes that may be getting updated without constantly having to check back in. It's definitely not a tool that I use on a day to day basis, but it's nice to have there to reference whenever I need an answer to a question or updated guidelines.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having one place where employees can update the information and everyone has access to it.

  ### 41. Confluence not for the beginner

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2017

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

I like that all reference documents, company happenings, important announcements can all go in once spot. Each department has their own area to manage along with a corporate area.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

For me, the program is hard to use. Unless you have some HTML or website background, it is hard to post items unless they are word or PDF based. It could be the way ours is set up but I really dislike having to put information up on the system.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Make sure your users are prepared to have to work a bit in order to post items.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everyone in the company can get to what they need to get to. You can have private areas or areas everyone can see the information. Departmentally, we use it to post procedures for support.

  ### 42. Clunky cloud-based software for file sharing/team spaces

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2017

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Allows you to have multiple projects/multiple team spaces to house content and information. Decent space for project management and storing background information/notes, etc.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Very difficult to find items and clunky to upload information. For example, takes PPTs and converts them to a pretty ugly, almost unreadable format. Other platforms, like Microsoft OneDrive, prove to be a better solution.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Pretty clunky software for team collaboration and document storage. Would recommend going with a different solution.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One place to store all kinds of documents, share information across teams, and house data on separate projects -- all in one spot. Although it works for this case, items are hard to find and it's difficult to navigate. Recommend a different solution, like Microsoft OneDrive.

  ### 43. Bulky but good

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

That it’s a central place where team members can share updates and collborate

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The interface could be more intuitive. Takes a while to hunt around for things

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting software & engineering teams to communicate more

  ### 44. Confluence across multiteams at a global start up

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Confluence allows us to view tracked changes from different projects. This is great when two teams are collaborating.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

It doesn’t feel too robust to me. There’s no way to track progress, it feels more of a way to just check notes across teams.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Keep it simple. We also use Jira which is effective when tracking dev tickets.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking team incentives as well as tracking notes should someone else need to access them.

  ### 45. Works Okay With Process & Dedication

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2017

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

* fully fledged product within Atlassian, which is great if you utilize the Atlassian product suite already.
* great plugin additions to add in easy graphics and diagrams where words do not suffice.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

* structure - it's hard to know how to use across all teams/areas and it would be best if there was an onboarding process for an account to setup how they want documentation to look for select PROJECTS, as an example, and that would make it easy for all users.
* interface is not obvious at first glance and takes some getting used to and continual training for the intended outcome.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Internal documentation of processes/products for internal sharing.

  ### 46. Very hard to organize information and key word search needs work

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

That it allows you to add links and can host large files

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The key search tool is just too broad and makes it very hard to locate information quickly. If you don't know how information is categorized good luck finding it!

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Attempted to use this as a knowledge share space, ultimately this did not solve our issue but that may be more user error rather than the product

  ### 47. Good way to share documentation with other users, be able to access it anywhere

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Great projects, subprojects, share documentation, customization

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

Searching and filtering for documentation is confusing

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All documentation is in one site

  ### 48. Good collaboration tool

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2018

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Good collaboration tool, markdown support

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

I don’t like the outdated user interface.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Documentation and collaboration

  ### 49. Confluence is great for storing information..... if you never want to find it again.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan D. | Client Services Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2017

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

Confluence can store what seems to be INFINITE amounts of information. It can be organized really well.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

If you do not organize well, and lets face it even if you do organize well, the search tool is miserable when trying to find anything.

**Recommendations to others considering Confluence:**

Find something with a better search feature.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is used as our internal wiki. It's great that we can put so much data including documents, but the search tool doesn't allow us to find anything easily.

  ### 50. Clumsy interface

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charlie S. | Client Services, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2017

**What do you like best about Confluence?**

The fact that my whole company continues to engage and add content. That it is searchable.

**What do you dislike about Confluence?**

The old and new version are one in the same. Albeit, I see the light with the newest version but it's so slow and drags along. Editing documents is kind of a nightmare, but not nearly as bad as attempting to organize spaces in a meaningful way.

**What problems is Confluence solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Documentation. Level 1 trainings. Dissemination of knowledge from long time level 2 agents to the rest of the company. Avoiding the gate keeper scenario we're in for the future.
