"User friendly live editing straight out-of-the-box, for almost EVERYTHING"

What do you like best about Concrete CMS?

The live editing (and its ease of use) for every page is THE best thing concrete5 ships with. Go to a pageyou'd like to edit and add/change parts of your page - using Blocks. A page is build with multiple Blocks and you just click on a Block to do an action (edit/delete and many more). Each Block has its own fields to change, let's say a "Testimonial" Block with a "Name", "Image" and "Text" field. Change a Block, save the page and afterwards you have full versioning of changes you made to the page. So you can revert to any given date/point of time! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Concrete CMS?

The somewhat small community, since WordPress is THE biggest CMS and most people "heard" WordPress is good and they only want that. concrete5 is a little gem that has only been discovered by a small group of people and needs/deserves more attention. Since the community is not huge, the amount of plugins/addons/themes isn't that big either. So it can use a bigger crowd! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Concrete CMS:

Try it out if you haven't yet. Don't go with the "everyone uses WordPress, so I should too"-hype, since you probably haven't heard how many times people have had their WordPress site hacked. Its plugins mostly have vulnerable code in it, that you need to update every week (and check if everything is still working the way it should with the new update). In general, concrete5 doesn't have/need these weekly security updates, since it's pretty much secure all year long (decent up-to-date coding).

Alos, certainly take a look at Block Designer for concrete5 if you are not familiar with creating Blocks yet (or if you're a designer and want to do something fancy with Blocks). It's for sale in the concrete5 marketplace and could potentially save you hours of frustation :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Concrete CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

With concrete5, you don't have to explain your clients on how to edit a site/page. Once they are familiar with the very basics, they can do their thing. Just go to the page where you want to edit something, and click on a so-called "Block" to edit it (a page is a collection of blocks). Now sometimes a site needs blocks that did not ship with the CMS itself, so I've created "Block Designer". You can easily create any block you'd want and realize that what you needed for that design the designer made for the client. Saves a lot of coding for me as a developer, but also helps the non-developers (working at whatever company or doing a website for themselves) doing something that actually needed developing.

You can create anything you'd like with concrete5, it's not just for blogging, or just for "basic" websites. You can create eCommerce with it, a social media platform or whatever you can think of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Has it all and extends to everythig I ever needed"

What do you like best about Concrete CMS?

It is easy to use for (tech-unsavvy) users and still extendable for developers. Its robust core provides a lot of functionality out-of-the-box and the recent step from version 5.6 to version 7 cut off a lot of old code with all its possible problem of security breaches. Not only do I like the products itself but also the philosophy of the team developing it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Concrete CMS?

It is relativeley unknown despite its high quality. It seems like many people measure the quality of a CMS by the number of free add-ons that are available for it, even though this is a hint that the CMS itself does not do much.

Many want their website built with one of the popular CMSes or Web Builders because they've heard of them before, which I really would not advice to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Concrete CMS:

Go look at it, you will not be disappointed. Don't be scared off by the relativeley (compared to WP) small amount of free add-ons it is a GOOD thing that concrete5 does not need much of them because of its strong core! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Concrete CMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

I've built everything I needed with concrete5, from booking systems, shopping carts, e-learning systems for schools. Beautiful, fast and robust websites are easily built. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very flexible CMS for Designers and Devs"

What do you like best about Concrete CMS?

Very flexible system with a lot of built-in tools like inline editing, page versioning, built in blocks like image-slider, forms, seo-features, flexible theming, layout-columns in pages, user-permissions and roles. Secure and robust core!

One of the coolest things is to build custom blocks for controlling the look and feel and giving a simple and flexible solution to a site editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Concrete CMS?

The community isn't big enough to push things. I mean its a cool software and the small community is very helpful. But it could really get bigger.

Second: The great bunch of tools takes some time to get used to. The more features - the more complex it becomes to get into this gem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
