"Works as expected, a bit resource intensive"
5/5
What do you like best about Concrete CMS?

I generally found Concrete5 to be easy to install and quite extensible. There are a variety of themes available to customize the look of the site. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Concrete CMS?

It is quite resource intensive. Errors in configuration may require a rollback to a prior backup. Some old extensions are still on the marketplace that are not compatible with the current version and aren't well marked what version they apply to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for end users. Good for developers."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Concrete CMS?

A well engineered CMS. Managed marketplace for extensions. Everything you need from one location. Convenient for off-the-shelf solutions and for developing custom solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Concrete CMS?

Whilst concrete5 has its own forums, the primary means of quick support is Slack. Posts on Slack get lost in time, hence support information that others could benefit from is lost. With each new release, the infrastructure increases in complexity and leaves the documentation further behind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible easy to build CMS for developers"
5/5
What do you like best about Concrete CMS?

The CMS is very easy to extend. You can build whatever type of application you want inside of this CMS. It's designed to give you so much more than simple brochure websites. The code is easy to read when you start delving into the core and you won't get lost in a puddle of mud like some other well known CMS platforms. There are a variety of after market plugins available however you will need to be tech-savvy enough to integrate them into your website 90% of the time. There is fine grain controls on permissions, users, roles and a lot of the built in CMS features such as the calendar are great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Concrete CMS?

The platform is not suitable for small projects. The learning curve can be quite steep and there is a lot of boiler plate to set up when creating a new project. There is not much availability for themes if you were to compare this to something like wordpress. This is a CMS for DEVELOPERS who want to build custom websites and apps, it does not work well for quick/small projects that require a small custom website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Love Concrete5!!"
5/5
What do you like best about Concrete CMS?

It is so easy from a developer standpoint to create websites that are easy for clients, with no web background, to maintain once I am done building it. It is super simply to train people on and easy for them to really take over without much help after we hand it over!! I do like that there are themes you can choose from too. It makes it easy to start instead of starting from scratch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Concrete CMS?

I wish there was more of a variety of pre made blocks. I build a lot of my own blocks, which is actually really really easy, but I wish there was a huge library, much like Wordpress has. Because you can seriously search for anything and everything on word press and you can find it. No matter what you are looking for. I wish there were more, so I did not have to make my own all of the time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Concrete CMS?

"Excellent product on so many levels!"
5/5
What do you like best about Concrete CMS?

Really easy to set up and use, whether you're a site editor, front end dev or a hardcore PHP ninja. The interface is lovely too.

I'm front end, and don't have a lot of PHP knowledge, but I've built a number of sites using C5. The plugins are all approved by the guys who developed C5 so there's less risk of code clashes.

It's built on Bootstrap too, which is my favourite framework, so it's easy to convert a Bootstrap site to C5.

There's also a great community of really friendly, helpful developers who've helped me with any tricky PHP I've had to deal with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Concrete CMS?

I really wish more people had heard of it! I always end up doing a speech to clients and other devs because Wordpress is the one everyone knows about, but having used both, Concrete5 is by far the better option.

I wish there were more recent training videos. C5 has changed a bit over the years, and while there are plenty of videos for site editors, but I'd love to see some more front end focussed, or PHP newbie videos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
