Concept3D has truly been such a delight to work with. They are responsive when issues arise and are receptive to new ideas and excited to try them out with us. Concept3D provides a high quality map product. Their renderings of our main campus and remote campuses are nothing short of beautiful. The ability to add/schedule event-related map Categories for Commencement and Move-In Day is great for universities. Their map icon library is bottomless. But I'd say the company's customer support representatives are probably the best feature of Concept3D. I've had two different reps over our multi-year contract and they have both gone ablove and beyond to help me navigate the map CMS, initiate updates to map renderings, navigate contract renewals and more. They also offer useful webinars for clients where I've gotten great ideas that I implemented on my college's map. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user side of the CMS feels a bit antiquated. They did recently update the text fields and that's an improvement. Previously, I would have random days when text formatting within the WYSIWYG just would not do what I was asking and I'd have to jump into the code to implement an H2 heading or a bold text. The customer service at Concept 3D is ALWAYS the top. Every team member has always gone above and beyond every request; we often find more enhancements than we request; the employees are always kind-hearted, helpful, responsive, and resourceful. Even when our contact is on vacation, someone is always ready to take requests.
Of course, the Maps are stunning, too; a team of talented artists, developers, and support have created a masterpiece showcasing our lovely campus. I was a late addon to our university committee working with Concept3D, and it was sometimes unclear how to envision the after view for a step we were working on. Perhaps a demo of before and after at different steps along the way would be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I had been maintaining static graphical maps of our campus for many years and everything was always behind. Offices would keep stacks of printed PDF maps for years with old info and outdated content was always being chased down. We needed a solution that allowed everything to be maintained in one location, that offered wayfinding, location markers, and could be a one stop shop for map related content. We contacted Concept3D and I've fell in love with maps all over again. The software is super easy to use and continually saves us countless hours of work. Parking services wants to document some temporary parking for an event, done. Admissions needs a repeating special event to highlight and campus buildings and tour info, done. Wayfinding across campus using wheelchair accessible paths, done. Our static map couldn't tell us anything about user engagement. I check our analytics daily to see what areas of the map are being used and that helps us understand the needs of our audience. Customer support is top notch and I've never had anything but immediate results and a welcoming, positive interaction with every staff member with whom I communicated. Using Concept 3D's maps in conjunction with Localist makes it super easy for students to find the locations, events and services they need to get started or keep going with their education. With a population of students that already has significant barriers to overcome, anything we can do to make them feel at home on campus & keep them connected with our college community makes a big difference. There is a little bit of a learning curve to the backend of the Concept 3D maps system - it's not a dislike as much as it is an endorsement to work with folks like Nikki Clayton for training, questions and new projects! Two things stand out: it's really easy to use and the support is great and easy to work with, and there is an amazing amount of customization we can do to our maps (for each campus) . The backend of the map CMS is still a little clunky. They've worked hard to roll out improvements, but the administrator side is still a little cumbersome and non-intuitive. It's powerful and the end-user experience is pretty good, but the way features are grouped and the feel of the administrative dashboard interface can be a little confusing sometimes and looks a little bit dated.
