What I appreciate most about commercetools is its highly flexible structure and outstanding expandability, which fits our varied packaging business perfectly. Its modular setup is my top favorite. We can freely customize functional components anytime based on actual business shifts. I’m also really satisfied with its strong cross-system data compatibility. It connects flawlessly with our internal inventory database, production scheduling platform, and financial billing system. This breaks data silos completely and avoids manual entry mistakes. Besides that, the well-organized backend dashboard makes daily management effortless. The platform runs steadily all the time, rarely crashing or lagging, reliably sustaining our daily online sales and cross-European client service work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about commercetools? For starters, it’s not super easy for new staff to get the hang of it fast. The backend packs tons of professional functions, from product category sorting to custom module setup and order rule adjustment. Our new operational colleagues usually spend days practicing just to handle daily tasks skillfully. There aren’t simplified guided tutorials made for manufacturing sales scenarios, which slows down team onboarding efficiency a lot. Then its built-in data visualization falls short for our daily analysis work. We regularly track sales of cartons, protective containers and custom packaging, plus regional order distribution and stock turnover rates. The native reports only show plain figures, no intuitive graphs or comparison charts. We have to export raw data and redo sorting and analysis on other software, creating lots of extra repetitive work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Commercetools resolves product management chaos by organizing our diverse packaging lines, syncing order details with production to reduce errors, and supporting cross-border sales with adaptable regional settings. We like that commercetools has well-documented APIs that are fast and stable. We've rarely run into a use case that isn't solvable via their custom fields and custom types. Their platform also integrates easily with event buses allowing us to easily sync data to other systems. Their customer support team is easily reachable and very knowledgable about the platform. The company is not optimistic about open-source software which makes us wary about the company's future. We needed to have a platform that wasn't slow and gave us the flexibility to make any additions to our website that we needed. We needed a fast, extensible, and robust platform to build a world-class shopping experience with multiple storefronts. Only a modern, headless platform like commercetools could support that.
