Colony Care is a web-based colony management tool for research labs and animal facilities. It replaces the spreadsheets and paper records that most colonies still run on. Each animal has one record with its identity, strain, genotype, lineage, location and history. Cages, racks and rooms show occupancy and capacity at a glance. Breeding covers pairings, expected versus actual litter size, weaning and the full pedigree. Health observations and welfare checks are documented as they happen. Colony Care supports 25 species, from mouse to macaque, including zebrafish and birds, with reproduction models for litters, single births and clutches. Cage cards carry a QR code that any phone camera can scan. Facilities can run per diem billing and generate CCAC and IACUC reports, and every change is kept in an audit trail attributed to a person and a date. The interface is available in English and French. There is a free Starter plan (1 project, up to 100 animals). The Lab plan is CA$549.99 per month, with a 14-day free trial and no credit card required. Your data can be exported at any time.
