It's customizable and capable. They give you a good OOTB model to allow you to capture various kinds of metadata. What's not included you can add based on your business needs. Workflows allow you to set up processes that match your use cases and ways of working. The number of support materials and coaching from Collibra is also pretty good. I like that they are moving in the direction of more machine learning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be confusing at times. Customizability is a double-edged sword as you are constantly second-guessing yourself and wondering if your changes or additions will cause unintended problems or conflicts later. We find ourselves wishing Collibra would be more prescriptive with some parts while allowing configurations where things don't fit our business. The licensing model charges each author, which discourages use of the tool. It would be better if we could allow anyone to contribute (in more ways than simply adding comments or running workflows) to attain true adoption and get the traction we need to be successful. The tool could be friendlier to business data stewards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
