Cohearo is on-device meeting transcription for people who don’t want a bot in their calls or their audio in someone else’s cloud. Recording, transcription and speaker identification all run locally on your computer. Nothing is uploaded, nothing joins your call, and Cohearo doesn’t need access to your calendar. It works with any app that makes sound, including Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Slack Huddles, and with in-person conversations in a room. It also works offline, and it supports 25 languages detected automatically. Once a conversation is transcribed, you choose what to do with it. Templates turn the transcript into structured output: meeting minutes with decisions, owners and next steps, user stories with acceptance criteria, or audit and report formats. You can also write your own prompt and reuse it on every recording. These AI-enhanced templates are the only step that uses the cloud, and only the text is sent, never audio. Other features include: A global hotkey for dictation anywhere: speak, release, and the text is copied to your clipboard A searchable archive organized in folders, where you can search a phrase and jump to that moment Export to PDF or paste into Notion, Slack, Jira, Linear, Confluence, Google Docs or email An MCP connector so Claude and ChatGPT can search and read the transcripts you choose to sync Cohearo is built for product managers, consultants and auditors, engineering teams, and anyone in back-to-back meetings who would rather listen than take notes. Desktop apps are available for Windows, macOS and Linux, with Android and iOS in early access. Pricing: the free plan includes unlimited on-device recording, transcription and speaker identification. The paid plan ($12 per user per month) adds sync and history, realtime chat with the transcript, the MCP connector, and 100 AI enhancements per month.
