I use CoGrader to help me grade written responses for my ELA written tasks, and it saves me time. I struggle with having it recognize the questions sometimes from the responses. It is also difficult for me to get it to score with a top score of 4. We grade papers from 1-4 and for some reason, I can never get it to give a valid score. It was a little difficult to understand how it worked and I ended up using some of my grading allowance trying to just figure it out.

It also does not consistently grade the essays questions. If a student fails to respond to the prompt, it will give some students a zero and some students the highest grade available when they have not answered the question at all. It also does not give grades of 1 or 2 even though a grading rubric has been provided. It is as if it cannot recognize what the question is actually asking the students. It will give a random answer a grade of 4 when they have not answered the question being asked at all. These are things that I pay this app to do. I like CoGrader because it helps me save time while grading student writing, especially with 32 students and multiple types of writing. I like that I can pull assignments from Google Classroom, which allows me to upload student work quickly. I really like the way CoGrader allows me to incorporate my own voice and give directions to adjust the tone, making it less effusive. It also allows grading by the specific rubric that I provide and with the rubric creator, it helps me to get a lot more specific and provide a rubric that can be graded by AI.
