"CoGrader Speeds Up Grading with Great Student Feedback"
4.5/5
What do you like best about CoGrader?

I have a lot of different worksheets to grade through my PLTW classes and they are hard to grade a take a long time! I love that CoGrader not only grades them, but also gives really good feedback for my students. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoGrader?

It doesn't see images that are uploaded into the Google Doc worksheets that my students submit. There are frequently different digital images or pictures that they have to include in their submissions and CoGrader always says that they're missing which requires me to go back and check and make sure they're there and correct. "Streamlined Essay Grading with Customizable Feedback"
5/5
What do you like best about CoGrader?

I love CoGrader because it really speeds up my grading process for essays and student responses. I use it in my ELA 10 and ELA 11 classrooms. I also use it with my undergrads. It's amazing how it helps me manage tasks that would usually take me a long time. Additionally, CoGrader allows me to give specific, individualized feedback, which saves me from losing so much of my time. One of the best things is CoGrader's ability to customize feedback, which lets me vary the level of student-friendly language depending on the rigor of the class, whether it's an upper-level AP class or a regular freshman class. The setup was incredibly fast, taking only five seconds, and learning the platform was user-friendly. Plus, obtaining different certificates was really helpful. What do you dislike about CoGrader?

The biggest thing about CoGrader that could be improved is that it's a little clunky when I have students upload things into my school's LMS, Canvas. It would be awesome if it integrated seemlessly with my LMS and populated the feedback directly into the LMS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Saves Time with Easy Rubric Tweaks and Google Classroom Essay Imports"
4.5/5
What do you like best about CoGrader?

It saves me a ton of time, and it's easy to tweak the rubrics so I can get the outcome from it that is most like how I would grade it. I really like that it's so easy to send essays straight from Google Classroom. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoGrader?

It seems to really sway from "balanced" to "tolerant" in the rigor category. I've had students who were graded at a 4/24 when it was "balanced" to a 23/24 when it was tolerant. It sometimes takes quite a while for it to grade or re-grade sometimes, too. I jumped through hoops to get a "free" year of Co-Grader (did a PD with my department, did all of the certifications), but I never did get any follow-up about the free thing. "CoGrader Delivers Quick, Detailed Feedback and Takes the Tedium Out of Grading"
5/5
What do you like best about CoGrader?

CoGrader allows me to provide my students with quick, detailed and relevant feedback to my students. Having the feedback while an assignment is still fresh on their mind allows for better revisions and improves overall writing. Co Grader also removes a good deal of tedium with grading. I like that I can use a variety of assignments and rubrics (although it would be cool if there was an option to run an assignment through multiple rubrics without having to copy it as a new assignment - sometimes I want to use a District specific rubric AND a CAASPP rubric). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoGrader?

Sometimes I fins that the plagiarism detector and AI detector are not super accurate.

Creating a rubric from scratch is a challenging process and takes a significant amount of time, testing and tweaking to make it valuable.

Not necessarily a dislike, but a constraint: Ultimately, I still need to read all writing and generate a grade because AI will never be able to assess based on what i have taught or how well I know and understand my students. This is why the prefix CO is so valuable. Co grader works WITH me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Transforms Grading Efficiency, Loved by Students"
5/5
What do you like best about CoGrader?

I use CoGrader for grading essays for my 8th grade ELA class, and it has saved me invaluable time, allowing students to write many more essays. The students love the feedback, especially the Gen Alpha slang, and they really use the feedback in their subsequent essays. Writing twice or three times as many essays has dramatically increased my test scores. I like the flexibility to change and edit the AI feedback, allowing me to tailor it to each student's particular needs and levels, whether advanced or special ed. The state rubric is already loaded, making grading accurate. CoGrader seamlessly works with Google Classroom, making uploading and exporting a breeze. The initial setup was easy, though learning to use all of the tools had a bit of a learning curve. I have used several AI grading tools, and I found CoGrader to be the best. What do you dislike about CoGrader?

CoGrader still needs to improve on the accuracy of the plagiarism and AI checker. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential for Efficient, Detailed Grading"
5/5
What do you like best about CoGrader?

I really like how CoGrader helps me not feel intimidated or overwhelmed. I love the complement and criticism aspect when it gives feedback because it's specific and cites specific things in the essays for the students. The feedback is specific, and I appreciate that it often creates a rubric I can go in and edit, which is really important to me. I value that I can still tweak it and keep a personal touch to the feedback, referencing the student's growth from one piece to another. It's powerful that I can make adjustments or accommodations for specific student needs through the system. I also appreciate how user-friendly the setup was with helpful YouTube tutorials, which made the process pretty smooth. CoGrader is a game changer because it has completely changed my workload feel and made me more effective with my time. I also like that it's helped me to assign more writing and increase the rigor and volume because I can manage my time better with the grading process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoGrader?

I think because my district is not integrated with Schoology, it does take time to manually download that zip file. And then when I open up the zip file that I've downloaded for my entire class, it puts them in folders for the students' names. But when I try to import it into CoGrader, it doesn't keep that name attached to the document. It's attached to the folder that documents in, so that I still have to go through and manually rename the document. I almost wish that when I downloaded it from Schoology and I put it in that folder, there was a way to keep that name attached to the document. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Grading, Needs Broader Capabilities"
1.5/5
What do you like best about CoGrader?

I like the fact that I can submit a rubric and then my assignments are graded on that. I also like that there are various types of feedback that can be given to students. A lot of my assignments have rubrics that they need to be graded against, and it helps to have an extra set of eyes go through that before I make my determination of a grade. The feedback helps me to formulate not only issues with what the student got wrong, but to highlight the positives for them. The initial setup of CoGrader was pretty easy as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoGrader?

I would like to see grading for other types of assignments. It is great that there are essays and quizzes, but it would help if there was grading for other assignment types as well. Also give me examples of prompts that would help us as instructors get the best from CoGrader, I have used the help menu to try to formulate the best prompts, but it still seems like it takes me 4 or 5 times to get the best from CoGrader. Also, if there has to be a regrade because CoGrader did not grade something, I don't think it should count against our overall total. That doesn't seem fair on our parts as instructors. I would also like to see CoGrader be able to pick up on images, tables, or diagrams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Time-Saving Tool with Google Classroom Integration"
5/5
What do you like best about CoGrader?

I use CoGrader to grade essays in my Social Studies classroom, and it's mainly a timesaver for me. It helps me focus on the main elements of the essay instead of looking at grammar and spelling issues. I like how it syncs with my Google Classroom, updating as more assignments are turned in. Since my district utilizes Google programs, having CoGrader link seamlessly with our existing programs is necessary for me to even give a new program a chance in my classroom. The initial setup was very easy. CoGrader was the only product that was up to my standards among the few others we experimented with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoGrader?

I would like the ability to upload my rubrics in PDF or Google Doc form without having to reformat to fit what CoGrader needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Grading with Minor Flexibility Challenges"
5/5
What do you like best about CoGrader?

I use CoGrader for grading essays. It's a very interesting program that helps solidify and check my grading processes. I love its efficiency and the program's quickness which allows me to review my work alongside what CoGrader has done. I appreciate the ability to adapt rubrics, being able to use preformed ones or develop my own right online, which is great. The plagiarism check is also a really important part for scanning students' work. I enjoy using CoGrader, and I've stayed with it because of its simplicity and the thoroughness of the product. The initial setup was pretty simple and intuitive, making it easy to get started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoGrader?

At times, CoGrader will come up with some error messages that say it can't grade a specific area, and I'm just a little confused about why that happens. Sometimes I have to delete something and then upload it again and try again. So, that has happened a few times for me. In addition, I think that it might be more helpful to develop more rubrics that are appropriate for elementary, middle school, high school, university, undergraduate, and graduate programs. Also, CoGrader does not have an API with some of the other systems we have, but it would be great for them to have that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Customizable Grading Tool with Room for Improvement"
5/5
What do you like best about CoGrader?

I use CoGrader for grading student essays and reviewing research papers, and I find it really helpful that it easily points out errors, which usually take a long time to identify manually. I like the fact that I can customize the rubrics and adjust the level of strictness in checking. It allows me to add my own criteria based on how I discuss the structure of essays, reflecting what I want to see in the submissions. Additionally, the initial setup of CoGrader was very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoGrader?

I have problems adding submissions through PDF uploads. I have to manually copy and paste the essay to upload it. If I could upload PDF submissions or attach Google Docs, that would make it faster and more convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
