I do get the sense that CodeSignal puts a lot of weight on how quickly I can finish challenges, which can get a bit stressful and take the focus away from writing really clear or thoughtful code. I also wish they provided more feedback after I solve something–just knowing I passed isn’t as helpful as learning alternative solutions or tips for optimization. CodeSignal’s user interface is second to none; it allows us to design our own assessments using adaptive programming questions that cover all bases. Also, the automatic assessment is fantastic; applicants (in this case, developers) receive instant feedback on how they are doing, and we can see a deep assessment of their skills as they develop. As such there is no dislike about CodeSignal as far as my experience is concerned. But some users have found that the difficulty of the coding challenges can be inconsistent, with some challenges being overly complex, while others are too easy.
