## CodeInterview Reviews
  ### 1. Huge fan of CodeInterview.IO

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joy T. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2024

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

As someone in talent acquisition who supports many different engineering divisions that work fast and furious- the ease of using CodeInterview is greatly appreciated. I appreciate that I can set up and monitor code sharing session on demand.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

There is nothing I dislike abt CodeInterview ( and I always have something I dislike about SaaS apps).

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Screening for engineering and technical candidates.

  ### 2. Perfect for beginners and hands-on- Saviour

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manish S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

It gives u playground and experience where you can learn and code and get ready for new challenging world and prepares u for real time interviews.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

Almost all are good but i had trouble downloading more extensions it asked for and lots of pop ups but rest pretty good.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Code interview gives platform. To learn code and execute testing out skills without any examiner. Its saviour for practise before going for real interview!

  ### 3. CodeInterview does an amazing job at taking live coding interviews

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Divyansh f. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

Its a simple product to use and I like the UI/UX of CodeInterview. It is very easy to create shareable interview sessions. The process of inviting people to the live session is also very easy.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

I feel its still in nacent stage in terms of features. One problem that I faced was that the compiler was slow some times.
Apart from that few of the Java libraries could not be imported in it.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CodeInterview has made it easier for us to conduct online coding interviews. It has streamlined the interview process for candidates that apply.
One of the best features is templates that you can create in the product and they come in very handy.

  ### 4. Solid functionality with a few opportunities for improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charles S. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

The thing I like most about CodeInterview is the straightforward UI. It is trivially easy to create and update templates, easy to create a new interview, easy to invite people into the interview, and easy to navigate the various features once in the interview.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

I've only observed two drawbacks to CodeInterview: the latency and the lack of color in the terminal output. The latency is the biggest drawback and can make it challenging for both candidates and interviewers to add and edit code. The lack of color in the terminal output makes it particularly difficult to disambiguate data, errors and debug output.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CodeInterview solves the fundamental problem of being able to collaborate on a code sample with a candidate. Take-home coding challenges are not effective in our environment because we really need to see how someone collaborates. CodeInterview gives us the collaborative environment we need to assess our candidates accurately.

  ### 5. CodeInterview works for what it is worth, but is not that user friendly and lacks features.

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

It was an ok code platform to conduct an interview. Overall it was efficient and worked for the use of my interview. I could do what I had to, and coding was overall a painless experience.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

There were missing aesthetic elements on the UI and interview panel that I believed should exist on a modern platform, and moving the GUI panels felt clunky and outdated. A button that could switch to sole interview mode before the coding section could make the website feel more friendly and be a valuable feature for coding interviews during chatting times.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an interview platform from the perspective of an interviewee. Its always going to be a little stressful and uptight in that environment but it was a decent way to demonstrate skills to employers.

  ### 6. Fast, responsive and simple enough

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sergiy S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

CodeInterview is a fast and responsive service; it was easy to follow whatever candidates were coding.
It supports several most popular programming languages that can be used simultaneously.
The section with task description and the section for interviewer's notes is also very helpful.
The final result can be easily shared with other reviewers.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

I liked the Whiteboard feature, and it's useful for some initial design discussions. However, I was surprised to find that the whiteboard was emptied when the interview is completed.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's an excellent app for technical interviewing and simple collaborative coding.

  ### 7. CodeInterview is a nice simple tool and we used it to conduct interview rounds in our organization

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Divyansh K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

Its sharing capabilities. It is very easy to invite multiple people and pair programs as well.

The hidden comment feature is also really useful for later references

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

The compiler needs a little bit of work. Not all libraries are present and event simple of data structures are missing. Themes can be worked upon and improved.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Code interview provides a platform for us to share online realtime codable workspaces to multiple people at once. This has immensely streamlines the coding interview process for us.

  ### 8. Great platform for data science interview

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amir R. | Senior Data Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

The questions are very similar to what I saw during a real interview. They are of high quality and very helpful.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

The fact that it doesn't have a lot of free questions to prove the people who visit it for the first time that it's actually worth it to buy the membership.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping job searchers like me to practice coding skills and prepare for their interview. I have practiced SQL and Python in CodeInterview

  ### 9. Amazing Expereince

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fatemeh T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

I like its user-friendly environment and the way it can help you prepare for the interviews. I was interviewed by some companies for data analyst roles, and they were using CodeInterview.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

If it covers more questions in MYSQL with answers and you have the chance to select what topic you want to practice, it will be the best! :)

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am mainly using its services as a general user tp practice coding!

  ### 10. Great interview tool that makes remote sharing quite easy + a few suggestions for improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

The templating system is fantastic. I got a lot of value from it by creating a problem for our candidates in multiple programming languages. Switching between languages for the same prompt made the interview process smooth.

Each candidate I interacted with had no issue using the UI to write and run their code. Additionally, having a Markdown file for the description makes communicating the problem's details easy.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

- The UI feature, which highlights where the user is to click (a small grey dot), is quite annoying. I've used the product before and therefore don't need the "how to use the UI" prompt each time I run an interview.
- The way the above feature was displayed on Firefox was a bit wonky and required some trial and error to click it away.
- The lack of importing 3rd party extensions is a bit of a drag. In one specific case, not having access to Jackson's data-bind library while dealing with JSON de-serialization proved to be a bit of a headache as the natural javax way of doing it is a bit arcane. Given the industry ubiquity of something like Jackson, having it available to interview with would be great.
- Why is the output for programs always in red? Is this because it's outputting with STDERR? I would strongly suggest making it something more readable. The UI's text output was challenging to read in places. My coding prompt involved the candidate reading the text output and working through problems, so this was a bit of a drag, given how hard to read the font and color were.
- Why do I have to name a Java class a specific magic word (`MyCode`)? You should be able to call the class whatever you need, so long as it has a `public static main` method.
- I believe the Run button should be made more prominent and perhaps put up top instead of down on the bottom.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to run code in a shared environment puts little to no stress on the interview candidate. It's a huge relief not to need either my IDE setup or a candidate's IDE setup to write and run programs while video chatting. It allows interviewers to get to the point.

The ability to shift templates based on candidate experience is HUGE. I love this feature.

  ### 11. CodeInterview is a very easy to use tool that serves its purpose greatly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

CodeInterview is very intuitive for both the interviewers and the candidates.

Interviewers:
- Easy to start/end an interview
- Easy to save and review ended interviews
- We can make, share and load code templates

Candidates:
- Write on the left, run and see the results on the right (nothing else, no distractions needed so the focus remains on the exercise)

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

As a Data Engineer, I miss more SQL engines available. In my team, we use PostreSQL and would love to test PL/pgSQL and other features that differ from MySQL (data types casting, functions, etc.).

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CodeInterview is excellent at enabling the collaboration of the interviewer(s) with the candidate, thus making the experience more friendly and dynamic. We usually participate by writing down comments on aspects that have already been solved, help by suggesting other approaches with pseudocode, etc.

  ### 12. Efficient Interview platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aveek N. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

I found the CodeInterview platform very user-friendly since it provides a real-time editor as well as design tools for System Design interviews.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

The User interface is a bit messed up and laggy.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To bring the Interviewee and Interviewer under one platform and everything required to have a successful interview is there.

  ### 13. Great! It gets the job done

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew(Mingbo) G. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

I don't have to worry about setting up an environment and can easily let the candidate write in whatever language they want.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

I think it would be great to have a way to have automated test runners

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It lets us easily interview candidates without having to setup our own environment

  ### 14. A solid and reliable shared coding workspace for interviewing for software engineering candidates

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel S. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

I can share a single-click link with a candidate that brings them to a syntax-highlighting equipped editor supporting common program languages and see keystroke-by-keystroke we work through a problem together. In the event of questions/uncertainty about the correctness of solutions, both the candidate and I can execute the program as written or smaller expressions in the language-specific shell. It's a much better experience when interviewing candidates who write code than a whiteboard could ever be.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

The playback feature to replay the interview after it's over could use more polish. The syntax highlighting in playback is distractingly flickery and dragging the timeline feels a little clunky. I would also appreciate the ability to distinguish edits/additions in the playback view by the author since I sometimes like to add comments/examples or pieces of code as the candidate works through the problem.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CodeInterview helped us continue to keep a high standard for evaluating candidates in the transition to remote video interviewing with COVID, in lieu of evaluating the collaborative problem-solving skills of candidates around a whiteboard that we traditionally did during in-person interviews.

  ### 15. Amazing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fatemeh T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

Practicing codes and mimicking the interview platform!

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

Can't find the correct answer, and as a new user, it is a bit difficult to figure out how to use the platform

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using the platform to upgrade MySQL coding skills.

  ### 16. Quite an impressive platform and is ideal for remote interviewing “whiteboard” style

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vsevolod G. | Software Engineering Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

Live coding with ability for several people to collaborate, how easy it is to share the link and the interviewee is there w/o account creation and such. Actual working Python interpreter, we let people check their assumptions in real time

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

Well it's still not the in-person collaboration, albeit pretty close. Team management interface is a bit complicated

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It lets us have collaborative live-coding interviews with people from all over the world, we're a remote-first shop so it comes in handy

  ### 17. Good Platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

It's a good way to conduct technical interviews.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

There is no option to clear the terminal.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making it more efficient to conduct interviews.

  ### 18. Great platform for pair review coding and recording the session for later feedback

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

1. The structure of the prepared questions and choosing between them during the interview.
2. Recording the session and playing it back is very helpful to judge later on the way of thinking and answer the questions
3. Commenting during the interview is also great.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

The domain may be more professional and have a better welcome page to demonstrate the features in a better way. Would also be very helpful if you could prepare packages with database questions.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Pair interview
2. Recording and play it back later for candidate feedback
3. Prepare a database for different positions and a set of questions to choose from during the interview.

  ### 19. Pretty straight forward tool to run interviews. A better language integration would be appreciated

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thibault J. | DevOps & product owner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

I mostly use it in plain code style or with the whiteboard.
The tool here is easy to use and to get candidates started.
A few seconds are usually enough to get candidates started and start the interview exercises.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

When writing actual code, candidates tend to seek IDE like completions they would have in daily jobs (completion, automatic fixes, library doc, ...)
For whiteboards, the integration is still a bit young. The window is not resizable and we are lacking some excalidraw features like drawing libraries or changing fonts or colors. This would be appreciated for infrastructure interviews.
On the playback side, it lacks traceability of the editor of a given line of code (i.e. did the interviewer help the candidate) and whiteboards are completely dropped from playbacks.
The playback list of registered accounts is great, but I would appreciate having the ability to tag interviews more easily when creating immediate interviews (when creating it or either during the interview).

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing a ready-to-use collaborative tool, helps us understand the candidate's ability to propose, debug and reason about code.
It also helps check the candidate code validity together with their ability to understand machine feedback (compilation or runtime errors) that they will surely face in their daily job.
All this helps us better identify the strengths and weaknesses of our candidates.

  ### 20. User-friendliness of codeinterview

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sandilya G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

It is very easy to use and is super user friendly. Minimal buttons on screen so the user is not confused and can focus on completing the coding task at hand.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

Can be difficult to know if the interviewer is able view where your cursor is or where you are explaining code.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to clearly show thought process while coding.

  ### 21. Works really well

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** tim m. | HR Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

It allows us to customize the coding assessments we want to use, and we can pay as we go.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

You need to have a proctored exam if you really want to be sure about your candidate's ID.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Enables us to get a baseline ability score on tech candidates.

  ### 22. A very simple and at the same time convenient application for conducting online interviews.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

The most helpful about CodeInterview (in our case) is the ability to create a database sample so that the candidates have the opportunity to check the queries that they write during the interview.
And also a whiteboard, with sample figures - so we can easily show to candidates (or they to us) what we mean in some cases.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

Sometimes the whiteboard is buggy, but this is a beta version, and in general, there were no cases where it did not work in the end. And what about other things? At this moment our team didn't find any issues that work somehow unexpected or need to be improved.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CodeInterview gives all the tools to engage candidates during an online interview in the same way as during an offline interview. Satisfaction with the interview ends up with both interviewers and candidates, which in turn leaves a good impression of the company as a whole.

  ### 23. Excellent tool for online interviews

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Petar G. | Group Leader in SW development, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

The real-time collaboration and the speed at which ideas can be communicated. Quick templates can be created for pre-planned questions. Also, the whiteboard feature is extremely useful for a quick visual idea

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

This is not so much a negative, but there is an option for having a call via CodeInterview and since most companies use Teams, Zoom, Skype, etc., this feature is unnecessary.
One suggestion would be to have a more structured dashboard in the sense of having a way to group interviews and templates withing folders.

**Recommendations to others considering CodeInterview:**

Excellent tool for online interviews

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem it solved was being able to remotely interview people during the pandemic. However, now that things are getting back to normal, it is still often a preferred way of interviewing since for some people it is difficult to travel for an on-site interview.

  ### 24. Fast and reliable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oluwa Tobiloba A. | Software engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

The interview process
The online code editor
The live coding
The peer coding
The coding templates
The interviews recording
The play back of interviews
All things works really well

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

No down side with using codeinterview, everything was good and straight to the point.
They also have amazing templates for all frame works and works like all code editors.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't have a problem and I'm benefiting from it in the aspect that there is forum to allow you to rewatch an interview, you can also backward, forward, pause, play and also replay.

  ### 25. It has what we require to get a complete interview.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajat V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

The IDE and the set of questions they have are great. I like their platform for conducting an interview.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

I don't think there is much, may be we could improve the UI and make it user intutive.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Conducting the interview in one go.

  ### 26. Great tool for code interviews

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt Z. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

It helps us conduct interviews with software development candidates. The pricing is more suitable for a small business than CoderPad. The interview templates are also fairly intuitive.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

Initial React build is a bit slow. Happy with it otherwise.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CodeInterview helps us assess candidates.

  ### 27. Easy to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

It is relatively easy to use. The feature I particularly love is the ability to create templates. It saved me a lot of hassle and allowed me more time to focus on other things.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

The one thing I didn't like about the product is the need to manually end the interview. There were times when after the interview was over, a candidate would revisit the link and edit their solutions. It would be awesome to be able to prematurely set an expiration time on these interviews.

On that note, it is great that we were able to catch these sneaky edits because the product provided a timeline of the interview (so we can just evaluate the solution at the time of the interview and ignore everything else outside of the allowed time).

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously, we had candidates share their screen with their editor of choice and shared the question over zoom chat. At the end of the interview, we would then screenshot the answer and share that with the interviewing team. This method of sharing solutions was not ideal, since we do not have a centralized place to store these solutions. In addition, we were not able to properly compare candidates as we had a hard time tracking down older solutions.

With CodeInterview, everything is now in one place and hosting interviews has never been more straightforward.

  ### 28. Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** SIEW FEN E. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

I think it's helpful for interviewer to track the candidates when it's interview time

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

I think they should explain more on how this software works in a video ahead

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was solving leetcode questions

  ### 29. Very intuitive, easy to use tool for collaborating on code interviews

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

The ease of use for this product is excellent, its very useful to be able to paste a link into a chat with an interviewee and immediately be able to collaborate on a coding problem. The wide degree of language support is also helpful, and allowing an interviewee to run their code and view the output gives interviewers valuable insights into their ability.

It also very helpful to be able to replay the interview after its complete to review the candidate's thought process after the interview is over.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

Sometimes I've forgotten to stop an interview, and had the candidate return to the link after the interview was over and continue to make modifications. It could also be useful to allow us to configure an interview question along with a predefined test suite in order to compare candidate's solutions more objectively

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Code interview helps us solve remote collaboration when interviewing software developers. I've found that candidates are more comfortable using the tool since its very close to their normal work environment

  ### 30. We have been using Code Interview for a few years as an online interactive interview tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

The best for me is that Codeinterview is pretty easy to use. Not overly complicated, has a clean look, and it's well streamlined.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

Not much to be very honest. Again, it's very user friendly.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving the way we connect with candidates for our technical interviews. Our interviewers are so happy they have a tool that encompasses it all for technical screens.

  ### 35. Reliable Tool for your Technical Hiring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

I like that I can set up templates for the problems I use frequently in interviews and easily create an interview link to share with my candidates. CodeInterview records the interview in real time, keystroke for keystroke and afterwords I can replay it to review candidate performance or to share with other team members. We've done over 100 interviews on CodeInterview and find it to be stable and available. I think it makes a professional impression on my candidates and certainly makes remote coding interviews easy to do.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

I'm very satisfied with the product and am happy to use it.

I have occasionally seen minor glitches when using the product. Reloading the page in the browser always fixes them.

The feature set is quite complete but a few features I'd like to see added are:
- the ability to disable the 'run' button so that candidates cannot run their code
- the ability to preview templates

Neither of these are significant barriers to using the product

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CodeInterview makes it easy for us to add coding questions to our remote interviews. The shared interface is easy to use and makes a positive impression on candidates. CodeInterview helps us to evaluate our candidates better and make better hiring decisions.

  ### 36. Clean platform for coding round of Interviews

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Krishna S. | Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

Code execution was never so easy and thus makes it suitable for the interview

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

It doesn't refresh very well. Sometimes, it hangs.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps easier way to interview.

  ### 37. It makes remote interviewing accessible and convenient.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

- Support of multiple programming languages
- Users can run their code easily
- support for different text editor (including VIM)
- ability to invite multiple participants

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

It would be helpful to have audio/voice recordings of the session as well. This would provide a full picture of what happened during the session, which would be helpful when reviewing the sessions after a long time has passed, or when getting a review from someone who didn't join the actual session.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have offices in multiple countries, so all our interviews are remote.
Instead of a physical whiteboard, we need an online space to collaborate with candidates during this process, and CodeInterview provides this.

  ### 38. Simple and easy to use, gets the job done without getting in the way.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

Ease of use. There's no complicated setup and the tool is easy and familiar so candidates don't have to think too much about how to use it. I like that it doesn't get in the way.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

It would be nice to see some of the more common IDE features available like Intellisense style code hinting or autocomplete so that candidates feel even more comfortable. It would be cool to have a feature where the session is automatically ended 5 minutes after the interviewers leave the session (unless you tell it to stay active).

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a great way for us to easily measure the code ability of technical candidates as a remote-first company. We enjoy the collaborative approach that feels like pair-coding.

  ### 39. interesting, but still needs some work

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hamid E. | Research Staff: ML Engineering , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

The coding environment was good. Some of the functionalities still lack a coder pad. Generally, if you can add more shortcoming schemas, like the ones in Intellij would be awesome

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

The drawing still lacks a decent performance. Try to have it working for tablets as well.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was preparing for interview and the company used the same platform

  ### 40. Very Easy to Use & Create Code Links

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

I like that Codepad links are extremely easy to create. All you do is click the plus sign and New Interview button, select Create Link for Later, and a link is created in seconds.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

I don't think there's anything that I dislike about it at all. There was only one problem with an already existing link that I created. I unfortunately can't remember what the problem was, but I created a new Codepad link and everything worked fine. The other Codepad links that I've created worked well for everybody and there were no issues.

**Recommendations to others considering CodeInterview:**

All you have to do is follow very simple instructions to create the links and the link is created.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At this time, I'm not solving any problems with CodeInterview as I'm just a Recruiting Coordinator simply creating the link and scheduling candidates and not an IT professional. As mentioned, creating the Codepad links has been very beneficial and easy and I've heard little to no negative feedback from interviewers about the links.

  ### 41. CodeInterview -- easy to use and a valuable tool in the hiring process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren V. | Director, Talent Acquisition Operations , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

We like how easy it was to use the tool, not only the ability to generate a live coding link for the interviews, but also for the interview participants to utilize the product with little to no training. We also like how responsive the company has been to servicing our needs or answering our questions. They are truly a customer-focused organization and they value their clients.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

We just needed a few options that the product did not have yet, but I am sure they are on their roadmap for future enhancement

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We utilize the product to provide the abiiity to conduct live coding exercises in our technical hiring/interviewing.

  ### 42. Reliable and easy-to-use interviewing tool

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

At most, the issues that we've hit come down to minor nitpicks. The CodeInterview team has been providing great support and is always happy and willing to help out.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CodeInterview is providing us with a reliable and easy-to-use remote coding interview solution that has made that process very low friction for our team and our candidates.

Not much honestly, I've been using it for all my interviews and I have no complaints.
Maybe a better way to sort the interviews?

**Recommendations to others considering CodeInterview:**

N/A

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast interview setup for coding challenges and collaboration
Takes me about 2 mins to get it up and running and makes it easy to review

  ### 48. Fast, responsive and amazing whiteboard features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zdravko E. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

The draw pad is amazing, very low learning curve and has everything you need for illustrating concepts/wireframes. Overall CodeInterview is very fast and responsive, it probably takes less than 30 seconds to start an interview with the Chrome Extension which creates interview links for you.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

Honestly I'm struggling to come up with anything I dislike so far. I guess it would be good to include other db technologies other than MySQL but this is not an issue for us in particular.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a fast and intuitive tool for coding interviews. Everything works as it should and we have replaced the need to hold interviews in Zoom or using Miro for whiteboards etc.
