The framework is lighter compared to other frameworks , and I cannot start telling you about the docs.

codeigniter has been my go-to server framework for the past few years. I have gotten so accustomed to it that I am able to do all the common web site tasks to get up and running within a few minutes. It is very extendible and easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
