Codebeamer provides a highly flexible tool to take control of the full lifecycle of product development. It enables small/medium companies to get away from a mish-mash of tools, spreadsheets and ad-hoc issue management and centralize development. It provides coherent workspaces to track development stages from end-user requirements, through development and onto end-of-line production tracking. Customisable reporting and dashboards are an integral part of the tool - this provides a mechanism for stakeholders to get a concise overview of the current state of a product. Codebeamer provides useful templates to get started quickly and importing exporting data from existing spreadsheets works well. Codebeamer themselves are responsive to reported issues and keen to assist people in the effective use of the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Once you start customising the workflows and workspaces; there is a significant learning curve to be able to find and connect pieces of the system in the way you'd like to. Visual tools are available for some of this customisation; however editing json is still required to connect external CI results (for example). As a tool, Codebeamer appears to have favoured providing breadth of lifecycle coverage over depth and UI slickness in areas, the menu organisation seems clunky in places - although the UI continues to be improved on a regular basis.
