It was quick to schedule and get started. The online portal is easy to use for tracking progress along with Slack comms.

Testers mostly ran automated tools without carefully checking results, and did not tailor the test according to our brief. Testing was very surface level and barely touched any application business logic.

Annual external penetration test of our software product.

  ### 5. Nice service and great platform

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Most like the online form to submit a quote request for Penetration Test, accelerates the time to quote and quote to cash process.

Cobalt is a premium pen testing service, the platform, pen testers and options to retest continously all mean a premium priced service versus traditional SOW based pen testers.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Very good at penetration testing. They knew to ask questions about our solution implementation so that the functionality was clear before getting into the Pen-Test.

By giving us penetration tests, Cobalt allows us to be compliant with our security regulations, and know where our gaps are to prevent attacks.

  ### 18. 1 Year with Cobalt

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean T. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Customer service 10/10 - Meredith Martin has been exceptional with answers to my never-ending questions.
Ease of Use - Very intuitive and customer friendly. All of the information I need from a pen test is at my fingertips for our team.
Agile/Full pen test options have been a game changer this year for our best use of credits.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

I wish there were easier ways to implement APIs for all our scheduling/management applications here at ISS. Also, ways to automatically create a slack channel with the submit pentest review button would be delightful to get members prepared before the test goes live.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The vulnerabilities in each one of the programs that Cobalt Pen Testers find and announce creates a sense of backup I haven't experienced in the industry before. Knowing the description for each finding will give our teams exact resources to resolve the vulnerabilities is why our company looks forward to a long-lasting partnership with Cobalt.

  ### 19. Professional and responsive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor J. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Cobalt was able to turn around a pen test report for us very quickly as we required testing on very short notice. We found them to be very thorough, the testing was high quality and the responsiveness was excellent in understanding our unique situation.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

The pricing model can be slightly confusing. The reps however, worked with us to scope our project and allow us to budget appropriately. Their estimate was spot on for our test.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cobalt is solving a gap we had around sufficient red team testing in our environment. Their on demand model was very helpful in being able to point to a service in need of testing and go.

**Official Response from Megan Roddy:**

> We're glad to hear that our team was able to provide thorough and high-quality testing on short notice. We apologize for any confusion regarding our pricing model, but we're pleased to hear that our representatives were able to work with you to scope the project and provide an accurate estimate. Thank you for choosing Cobalt to address the gap in your red team testing, and we're happy to have been able to meet your needs.

  ### 20. Professional, Responsive, and Easy to Use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Cobalt was the best partner for our first Pen Test! The solution was easy to use, and the Pen Testers were knowledgeable and responsive, allowing us to resolve our tasks quickly! The dynamic updating of completed tasks was helpful for our enterprise customers. We highly recommend the system for anyone looking for a Pen Test or strengthening their security processes!

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

We loved Cobalt, but having a better mobile interface would have been nice. It would have made my job easier to read the feedback and assign tasks to my team-mates.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a Pen Test for Vendor Risk Assessment and Compliance submissions. Cobalt made the Pen Test easy for our team by providing a willing partner to help answer questions and nicely document our changes.

  ### 21. Top-Notch Client Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Estone N. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Excellent project management and fostered team collaboration.

The team is committed and meets SLAs as agreed.

Added value; testers go over and beyond to reproduce steps that help the client understand how findings were generated.

Communication with business owners and/or internal security teams is top-notch. We are briefed at every phase of the pen-testing process.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

I wish a unified collaborating platform such as ServiceNow existed to manage multiple ongoing projects. Slack is a good platform, but it can be overwhelming.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to cut through our backlog of priority assessments requiring testing. We can expedite our reviews and provide value to our clients (business owners) in a reasonable amount of time.

Cobalt's input enables us to resolve findings within a reasonable amount of time prior to go-live dates.

  ### 22. Convenient and organized pen testing platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

I like that the pen testers chosen for the project are matched according to the technology stack. I also appreciate that there is at minimum 2 pen testers per project to add redundancy.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

I paid "extra" for the pen testers to create GitHub issues to report any security issues found. There were minimal findings but still no GitHub issues were ever filed by my assigned pen testers. If I were to use Cobalt again for pen testing, I would likely not upgrade for this benefit.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cobalt provides Pen Testing as a Service, making the process of starting a security pen test easy for any busy startup CTO. It was a good combination of platform and human/customer service to make the process really easy.

  ### 23. Why Cobalt is so great

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Cobalt allows your company to start a pentest with a short lead time. The quality of the reports from the researchers is top-notch, and the communication channel between researchers and the business makes it easy to see what sorts of attacks and techniques are being used to cover the application.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

Currently, the JIRA integration could use some additional customization to make it easier for ticket creation. It was hindering some process related functions until we used the API to get around this.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cobalt is allowing us to focus on more targeted tasks in our products. With their ASVS checklist approach, coverage of the application is accomplished allowing us to perform red team exercises and other sorts of advanced adversary emulation.

  ### 24. Kendall S. is a Rock Star!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

My account manager makes me feel like they understand our business. The PEN testers have a wide range of skills. They are very communicative. Compared to others they stand out because of the ease of scheduling, testing, re-testing to determine if an issue is patched.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

Dislikes? Nothing. I had a great report, was able to patch and re-test with ease. Re-tested after we had a report and the report was still updated with the re-test notes. What is there to dislike about that? Great service! Great company!

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scheduling a PEN test used to take months! Not with Cobalt. Getting the report would take weeks of back and forth. Not with Cobalt. Being subject to unavailable PEN testers due to overscheduling. NOT WITH COBALT!

  ### 25. Smooth process for first time customer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arthur G. | Head of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

The cobalt dashboard makes reviewing and updating the issues being collected really easy and the recheck process means we can get each item rechecked as they are addressed by our team.
During the test, itself we were able to engage with the team providing information they needed and directing them to check specific things team through a Slack channel making our life easier.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

A silly point but the sales process felt a bit disappointing compared to other companies, they clearly don't need to try as hard given their reputation.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to replace our automated penetration testing system with something we could have more confidence in. In addition to being useful for 3rd parties, this has given us confidence in our existing development practices.

  ### 26. Exceptional onboarding and penetration testing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adeniyi O. | Cybersecurity Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Cobalt penetration testing process is simply one of the best out there for your external PT. They also have a user-friendly interface for managing the PT and reports. With an automated interface for report management, feedback and comments. You even get to ask for options etc.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

The area of improvement will be follow-up after testing and during remediation.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Assessment of multiple platforms.

  ### 27. agile pentesting at its best

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Franz W. | Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

I like best the SaaS platform of Cobalt, where you can see your test results instantly as they appear and not weeks later

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

data of EU customers is not stored yet on EU servers, should hopefully change soon

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cobalt is providing agile pentest which can be started within days and provides ongoing feedback on vulnerabilities through its platform

  ### 28. Cobalt understands what modern teams need in a testing partner

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Our team loved how Cobalt was embedded in our slack channel but still stayed out of the way and didn't burden our team with additional coordination. I also appreciated the daily updates on which tasks were done

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

I found the credit system to be a little difficult to understand. Though I like the idea that we can spend credits on a variety of different services, it was unclear to me why "8" credits was the right number for what we needed

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pen testing that integrates well with agile software teams. Cobalt provides streamlined integrations which both improved the speed and quality of communications around the project

  ### 29. Seamless process = good experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

The engagement was easy. The Cobalt team was helpful in setting up the tests. Their documentation is well written and purposeful. The team was fast to respond to any issues or concerns and worked through our testing keeping us informed along the way.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

We had no negative experience through the engagement. They were very responsive.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pen testing is required for SOC2 Type 2 reports. Cobalt committed to our timeline and delivered their assessment with remediation information to help us ensure that we are following best practices.

  ### 30. Great Pen Test platform and helpful team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dwight I. | Director of Development Systems, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

The platform is well organized and integrates nicely with Jira.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

We have been using Cobalt for a year and switched from a previous vendor. I have not found anything to dislike.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Third-party penetration testing.

  ### 31. Cobalt made my life easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan F. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Cobalt was a tech friendly, automated way to make sure the Assembly platform stays compliant and safe. We care about our customers saftey and Cobalt ensures we are in a great spot!

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

Haven't found anything yet... I'll keep you all posted but it's been almost 3 great years together thus far

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saftey, without regular testing, my mid market customers would not be comfortable uploading their employee data into my platform. Having the Cobalt stamp alleviates all pressure there.

  ### 32. Really really awful experience

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert B. | Online Producer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

The website and infrastructure work ok-ish

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

The so-called PEN-Testers have no qualifications for what they are doing. They are not motivated and the supervisors seem to be part of the problem. They didn't find anything.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PEN testing for companies

  ### 33. Painless Pen Test

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

The platform was easy to use, and Cobalt made it easy to scope what exactly needed to be tested. The penetration testers were patient and, as far as I can tell thorough! There were shareable customer reports generated and remediation included, it ticked all our boxes.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

Wasn't a lot to dislike. Had to use a separate Slack to communicate with the penetration testers but equally appreciated the IM aspect rather than having to resolve problems via e-mail.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need a yearly penetration test to ensure there are no security flaws, Cobalt made this a smooth painless process that gave us useful insights into the state of our security.

  ### 34. Convenient, thorough, and timely.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew S. | Head of Security & Compliance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

We engaged Cobalt to perform a targeted security assessment with specific criteria around testing objectives. The entire process was seamless, from the scoping discussions and contract to the technical testing itself. The Cobalt team was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I especially appreciated the clear and frequent communication during the testing period.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

I can't think of anything we disliked or were not happy with.

**Recommendations to others considering Cobalt:**

I have used Cobalt as a penetration testing provider at several companies, and have only positive experiences to relate. They have been timely, communicative, and professional in both the administrative and technical aspects of the engagements.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to solve two problems: 1) external validation of internal security and remediation efforts, and 2) upholding contractual and regulatory commitments. Engaging Cobalt for security testing has helped us achieve both objectives.

  ### 35. Usable platform for pentesting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miklos Q. | Application Security Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Responsive customer service, quick planning and great pentesters are at disposal

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

The quality of report could be improved with some details

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps to find vulnerabilities in our software product to meet compliance requirements and make us more resilient against cyber attacks. Indeed those vulnerabilities we probably could not have found on our own.

  ### 36. Painless Pentesting that execrates remediation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Platform conveys information in and easy to understand way. Through this developers are able to resolve issues in a faster time frame.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

Product is still missing a way to bucket projects in a way that makes it easy to group or tests for larger organizations.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are reducing the amount of time it takes to get a pen test done and then remediate findings.

  ### 37. Cobalt communicative staff make penetration testing easy.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Giovanni R. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Here are some upsides about Cobalt.
- Cobalt pen-testers provide daily updates about their findings.
- Cobalt Pen-testers are very responsive when communicating with them.
- You are given the option to retest vulnerabilities more than once and have a 1-year bracket.
- The UI is simple to navigate.
- Cobalt team is always looking for ways to benefit a company by planning an asset sheet that can help them predict the final cost.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

Here are some downsides about Cobalt.
- When you ask for a retest on a vulnerability, the pen-tester will return results in 1 day. But there are times when I'll have to wait three weeks.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Determine how many credits should be used for an application. There is an expectancy from the application team that they should be pen-testing more than what is actually planned.

  ### 38. Great experience working with the Cobalt team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

The overall engagement process and the portal for me to review issues.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

I do like the overall engagement experience.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a provider of a database as a service, pentest is a critical control for us to achieve security and compliance such as SOC 2.

  ### 39. Fast, but beware of after-test service

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wei W. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Initial response was fast. They arranged a pen test within a few weeks for us and got it done with the agreed timeline.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

After a test is done, they don't care about you anymore. They missed "network pentest" in our agreed 2nd pen test scope. And I couldn't get a hold of anyone anymore despite repeated emails.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They deliver a pentest fast.

  ### 40. Cobalt makes pen testing a breeze

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Cobalt takes care of our pen testing needs with minimal effort from our end

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

I wish the renewal process was a bit more hands off

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cobalt helps us take care of pen testing so that we can meet our customers' security requirements

  ### 41. Great service and platform for organizing and following up on penetration tests!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

The dashboard they provide is well done, and they are clearly working to improve it over time. I have also been quite impressed by the quality of their penetration testers, and their findings/reports.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

I haven't really bumped into anything that I actively dislike about my experience with Cobalt over the last few years. Their model and the level of effort to get things done fits really well with my organization's needs. I am curious to see how the relationship might change over time, as my organization's needs grow and how my interactions with Cobalt and their team will change to meet those needs.

**Recommendations to others considering Cobalt:**

Make sure you work closely with your account manager. They'll be able to help facilitate your onboarding and getting things set up for you very quickly.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need to have annual third-party penetration tests done. We don't have a dedicated security team at my organization, so anything that makes the request simple to set up, repeat over time, and manage in between each annual test is really helpful. Cobalt meets our needs for all three.

  ### 42. Fast and Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Great scheduling, and the constant communication process makes it easy to do a mpt!

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

Pricing model is confusing. It has changed a bit.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its a great way to have a third party do manual penetration tests in a timely fashion. Sometimes other third party can take weeks to schedule one.

  ### 43. Great company and fast iterators. Receptive to feedback on a great product.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Gambling & Casinos | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

A helpful team that is receptive to feedback on how to iterate on their product. The Pentest Service has been a valuable addition to our InfoSec program, and the various offering help us bolster our posture in various verticals.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

It would be great if Cobalt could build more integrations with other security vendors/products in the EDR/XDR/CSPM space to integrate PTaaS findings into the wider InfoSec program. Improve Asset Discovery.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not hiring full-time security engineers. Enhancing our InfoSec Program. Black box testing. Compliance for vulnerability scanning/discovery. Helps us comply with business regulations.

  ### 44. Cobalt is an incredibly advanced platform for pen testing with far more flexibility than competitors

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Cobalt provides excellent pentesting services with a wide variety of experts in many different technologies. Cobalt has sped up our pentesting process by an exponential amount, and allowed us to integrate directly into internal tracking systems to ensure that everything is handled promptly.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

I have no complaints about cobalt. They continue to innovate and provide useful features.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cobalt helps fulfill client requirements, ensure our security posture remains strong, and improves productivity in the security team by outsourcing some of the technical headaches involved in testing our environment.

  ### 45. Pen test experience, reimagined

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Compared to traditional pen testing, it's a vastly better experience to have a direct Slack channel, as well as a web app for issue tracking. You can clarify questions on the spot; pen testers will notify you when they need something changed in the test environment; and you have ongoing information about reported findings, which you can already start fixing etc etc.

The pen testers were quite thorough, and found more issues than past, traditional pen testers had uncovered in the same project in the past.

The fact that retesting is included in the price is the icing on the cake.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

The criteria for classification into "low" and "medium" was not always clear. Some findings were false positives, and there was no established workflow for getting these findings removed from the report. But the Cobalt support team was responsive and we sorted this out over Slack.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cobalt provides fast, interactive pen test for our products, which helps us deliver a secure and compliant service to our customers.

  ### 46. First Experience: Eye-opening and Inviting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yasmin A. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

Workers are very friendly, great listeners and always thinking of a solution for your situation. Incredibly helpful and genuine.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

No downsides as they are focusing on the problems within the service. Quick and accurate services with genuine employees.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Availability and ease of helping companies with their security measures. Unseen before and very necessary.

  ### 47. Great and efficient service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaime A. | Manager II, Information Security , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

The ability to scale up your PenTest capability with high end talent and skillset is extremely helpful.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

absolutely nothing, great service, great talent, great people

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows you to scale up a critical capability to your team that can lead to the mitigation of actionable security deficiencies.

  ### 48. Cobalt leads the way in PTaaS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam D. | Sr manager AppSec, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

The results, quite simply. Cobalt has delivered results on par (sometimes even exceeds) our internal pen testing efforts. The ability to spool up a test at a moment's notice and have that elastic ability to respond to business requirements is highly underrated, especially in a very specialized area like application pen testing.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

Nothing with the service, only the platform has minor issues.

We do a lot of tests with Cobalt. I have asked that the sorting feature be updated by adding additional criteria. Date would be useful to limit the scope.

**Recommendations to others considering Cobalt:**

Absolutely. As an application pen tester, I have personally reviewed 3rd party pen tests of our application and I can say that very few actually understand and perform application pen tests well. Cobalt is a company that does this very well.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can dynamically meet unexpected tasks by leveraging cobalt.
We meet compliance audits
We meet expectations in diligence.

  ### 49. Superb service, delivered in the way my agile web development company needs and for a great price

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim F. | Director, Standards & Compliance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

The team members are highly proficient and well-educated; not to mention polite and a pleasure to interact with.

I can get a penetration test staffed within 48 hours every time - I am used to other companies typically taking longer to staff a project. Cobalt has also been able to compress my tests into shorter periods (based on staffing availability) when I am in need of completion on a shorter timeline to meet client launch demands.

I very much enjoy the Shared Slack channel and real-time sharing of findings in the control panel, which allows my team to find and resolve in sprint instead of having to wait until the testing is done - this is perfectly in line with our operating model. We operate on very short timelines to align with our client UAT periods, and Cobalt has over-delivered every time.

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

Some aspects of the user interface can be improved with respect to user management. A partner/reseller arrangement exists by which you can get access to an improved control panel but in my case I am unable to take advantage of it. That being said, a few quick questions to Cobalt Support/Accounts easily clarified for me so I am not unhappy with the value offered. Hard to find fault with a service where I am very happy with the value delivered for money paid. Any further improvements are icing on the cake.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a software development agency that delivers bespoke custom web applications to our customers. The use of Cobalt as a recommended and preferred vendor for security testing increases our clients' trust in us and ultimately improves the quality and value of the products we deliver to our customers.

  ### 50. A leader in the industry that actually listens to customer feedback

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Cobalt?**

The platform - ease of use and very powerful
The pentesters - knowledgable and collaborative
The company - listens to customer feedback

**What do you dislike about Cobalt?**

Quality of work/reporting from pentesters is not always consistent.

**What problems is Cobalt solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cobalt helps us to achieve SOC2 compliance. With that, they also enable us to better understand how our applications are vulnerable and suggest ways to remediate those vulnerabilities.
