## About CMD+CTRL Training
CMD+CTRL Training — Application Security Skills Development Software teams are under pressure to build faster, adopt new technologies, rely on third-party components, support cloud and DevOps workflows, and still deliver secure applications. Traditional secure coding training is not enough for the way modern software is designed, built, tested, deployed, and defended. CMD+CTRL Training is an application security skills development platform that helps enterprises build practical software security capability across the entire SDLC. The platform helps teams learn security concepts, practice them in realistic environments, measure progress, and apply secure development skills in their daily work. Base Camp Platform: The platform gives organizations a centralized way to deliver secure software training across roles, technologies, and skill levels. It includes: - Role-based learning paths for software, security, engineering, DevOps, QA, cloud, security champions, managers, executives, and other teams involved in the SDLC - Interactive courses, hands-on labs, and realistic cyber range simulations where learners build knowledge, practice techniques, identify vulnerabilities, understand exploitation, and learn how to fix security issues - Skills assessments, benchmarking, and reporting to identify strengths, uncover skill gaps, track learner progress, measure team readiness, and show program impact - Training support for enterprise AppSec initiatives, security champions programs, compliance requirements, customer assurance, and ongoing secure development practices Who It’s Built For: CMD+CTRL is built for enterprise organizations that need to scale application security knowledge and behavior across technical and non-technical teams. It serves security leaders responsible for reducing software risk, AppSec teams that need to scale secure development practices, engineering leaders who want teams to build security into everyday software delivery, and the developers, architects, DevOps teams, QA engineers, cloud teams, security champions, managers, and executives involved in building, testing, deploying, managing, and securing software. The Result: Organizations use CMD+CTRL to build a measurable software security program that improves secure development skills, reduces preventable vulnerabilities, strengthens alignment between security and engineering, and supports compliance and customer assurance requirements. The result is safer applications, more capable teams, and security knowledge that turns into practical, repeatable action.

## CMD+CTRL Training Reviews
  ### 1. Engaging Cyber Range with Great Host Feedback and Leaderboard Stats

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hamza K. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about CMD+CTRL Training?**

I really enjoyed the platform we used for the cyber range, and the feedback from the hosts and the stats on the leaderboard.

**What do you dislike about CMD+CTRL Training?**

Wish I had more time to access the platform, even after the competition was over and leaderboard tracking was disabled. Also there was no recap of the events for people doing the event virtually.

**What problems is CMD+CTRL Training solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing realistic situations for security problems and teaching ways to resolve them. It is a great help for my software engineering journey and piques my cybersecurity interests

  ### 2. Empowering Hackathon Experience, Needs Tech Stability

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2026

**What do you like best about CMD+CTRL Training?**

I liked how CMD+CTRL Training provided us with tools and an environment to explore, which felt empowering compared to simply following a course or watching a YouTube video. I appreciated the event they hosted with Toronto's OWASP chapter, especially the hackathon that allowed me to understand a threat actor's point of view and see what an actual attack looks like in real life. The gamified scoreboard helped me overcome my intimidation about the landscape. The support provided for any technical issues made everything smoother, and the initial setup was very simple, as all I needed was to create an account and input the training event’s link, which worked great.

**What do you dislike about CMD+CTRL Training?**

Some times the website instances they ran got bogged down real quick, the website breaking intentionally is fine. But when its crashing due to a server side issue, it felt aggravating sometimes

**What problems is CMD+CTRL Training solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMD+CTRL Training helped me understand threat actors' perspectives and real-life attacks. The empowering environment and support for technical issues also made it a smoother experience.

  ### 3. Effective for Cybersecurity Learning, Needs Better Guidance

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2026

**What do you like best about CMD+CTRL Training?**

I like the fact that CMD+CTRL Training provides a challenging environment, which doesn't give you everything at first. The initial setup was straightforward and easy.

**What do you dislike about CMD+CTRL Training?**

I think there was very little upfront guidance with CMD+CTRL Training, and that made using it really challenging. It feels like it assumes you already have a lot of knowledge. The usage needed to be more enhanced to help understand how to use it better. Also, it could really benefit from more background assessments done before you start using it. The training should then have picked up from the level you were at and then provided hints on what to do next when stuck. This would provide challenge with the frustration which leads to greater actual learning.

**What problems is CMD+CTRL Training solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMD+CTRL Training exposes me to areas I'm weak in and need to learn in cybersecurity. A summary of my weaknesses and how/what to do next to correct those weaknesses would have been a great addition.

  ### 4. Hands-On Hacking Exercises That Beat Reading and Videos

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2026

**What do you like best about CMD+CTRL Training?**

It's very cool to be able to perform real hacking exercises. Real applications of techniques is way more valuable than any reading or video presentation

**What do you dislike about CMD+CTRL Training?**

It's really hard to know where to start with some things. Maybe some more hints being available would help, as those without security backgrounds don't really have as many ideas. Also some of the attacks are pretty basic, like SQL injection has been covered to death and probably shouldn't be an issue anymore.

**What problems is CMD+CTRL Training solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When running your own applications, security can be an afterthought. Once you see how real attacks are done, it is a lot easier to build security into your own apps.

  ### 5. Engaging Cybersecurity Training with Real-World Examples

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2026

**What do you like best about CMD+CTRL Training?**

I found the cyber security training event with CMD+CTRL Training to be very engaging thanks to the use of lots of examples of real vulnerabilities. This helps me apply the knowledge in my daily work; knowing what types of vulnerabilities exist and how security can be breached allows me to protect my software against threats. Also, the initial setup of CMD+CTRL Training was very easy.

**What do you dislike about CMD+CTRL Training?**

Maybe a little bit more detailed intro to the training and more detailed instructions. Provide more seating places and improve mic sound.

**What problems is CMD+CTRL Training solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use CMD+CTRL Training for easy registration, clear instructions, and understanding event details. It makes cyber security training engaging with real vulnerability examples, helping me apply this knowledge to protect my software. The setup was very easy, enhancing my daily work by identifying and defending against threats.

**What do you like best about CMD+CTRL Training?**

I really liked the applicant’s UX, and the problems they asked were very close to real-world examples. Overall, I learned a lot from the experience and found it genuinely helpful.

**What do you dislike about CMD+CTRL Training?**

It feels like my solution isn’t being submitted, even though I’m doing everything correctly.

**What problems is CMD+CTRL Training solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps solve the problem of software engineers being incapable of spotting potential security issues. I personally learned about many of these vulnerabilities through it, and it made me more aware of what to look for.

  ### 8. Engaging Cyber Ranges, Helpful Team

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natalie B.

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about CMD+CTRL Training?**

The people at CMD+CTRL Training are great to work with and very helpful. The cyber ranges are well received across the company, and employees have provided feedback that they are really helpful in learning how to create secure code and understand vulnerabilities. The CMD+CTRL team members are excellent at figuring out what we need for each range.

**What do you dislike about CMD+CTRL Training?**

I think the training needs to be more applicable when taking it and not just more sit and learn from the feedback we are receiving from employees. If it's possible to do more scenario-based trainings similar in some respect to how the cyber ranges are.

**What problems is CMD+CTRL Training solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMD+CTRL Training solves license assignment issues, provides course suggestions and loading, and helps host cyber ranges, enhancing learning and security awareness.
