I've been using CM Builder for just over a year now and have been incredibly impressed by its ease of use, graphics, paramtric resources and support from the CM Builder team. It has been game changing in terms of it's ability to integrate with Google maps and import 3D models to help stakeholders from all sides visualise construction methodologies and sequencing. It has become something I use everyday and I now try and integrate it into all of my projects. What I like best about cmBuilder is the support they provide. I have had multiple interactions with the company from support(Cal, Pedro,Javy), to resource modeling request, to them paying our company a visit while they were here in New Orleans, La. The upside of using cmBuilder is the software is progressive meaning, always making improvements to make our job more efficient. Also the cmBuilder team is always offering suggestions on workflows to make better presentations for our clients. The fact that's it's only internet based is the only thing I can think of as a hinderance. For some presentations where I don't have internet or cannot get a hotspot, it would be nice to run the software off my computer to show a client. Meanwhile my work around is to create videos and presentations ahead a time. A create smiliar command would be nice in the future but other than that I don't have any downsides to using cmBuilder. It's fairly easy to use and with the amount of webinars online and the support always willing to help it's impossible to not become at least intermediate using cmBuilder. cmBuilder greatly lowers the entry barrier for getting into 3D/4D logistics plans. They make it easy to build your plan from scratch and sequence it how you want to. I really like how I'm easily able to bring in drone maps and models to have accurate existing conditions to work off of.

Probably the best feature of cmBuilder is the resource library. They have a huge library of objects/vehicles/equipment/people/etc that you can easily place into your plan. Each resource is accurate to real life as well, enhancing the quality of your plan.

cmBuilder was much easier for us to implement than other 4D software that required a "tech ninja" to completely run it themselves. After a quick training session, we're able to get field superintendents making their own plans.

While cmBuilder is quick and easy to use, it's technically quicker to just create a 2D plan in Bluebeam still. There are some people that will go for the "path of least resistance" and just make a 2D plan still. The value to get from a 3D plan greatly outweighs the time saved from a 2D plan though.
