I think the main issue, is something it's lags a bit, or takes time for a certain page to load.

**What do you like best about CMap?**

Once set up it's very easy to use, they've thought of pretty much everything (for a consulting business), and they're generally responsive to feedback. 

It's transformed our project operations: regularly getting close to our utilisation figures, keeping close tabs on resourcing so people are working optimally without overload - and it's made everyone's lives measurably better. 

We've (the team has) made a lot of changes to our business, and the improvements are not all down to CMap, but in parallel CMap has been a very important feature because it has helped smooth everything and connect up a series of separate processes, which has yielded tangible efficiencies. 

So, if you do choose to implement CMap it really is worth taking a holistic view of your whole operation and adapting that alongside. Don't just bolt it on and expect magic (though it will still be better than what you have got now!).

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

Take care which onboarding package you choose: explore with them exactly what the different options offer. Ours felt a bit rushed (though the team were excellent - thank you Onai and Julia) and it transpires the bumpy ride was partly because of misunderstanding what we had bought. So I guess they could work a bit harder with their sales comms.

The Fee Estimator template needed a lot of tailoring to fit to our way of doing things and how we cost our work. It's also not really optimised for the tailoring we needed to do, and we've had to use workarounds that makes it a touch less elegant in use. It is nevertheless a fantastic piece of engineering now we have done it, and it makes building our jobs and then resourcing them really granular and accurate. Worth investing the time in building a great fee estimator as we hear other users haven't done this, and perhaps it's one reason they may not get the same benefits we have (this is a guess!). 

There are also a billion and one reports, plus opportunities to customise them, which is all great in theory, but in practice they're hard to use without quite a lot of support. It's hard to know where to start. They have generously offered to do this (thanks again, Julia), but I do wonder if there's more that could be done to hand hold users through literally hundreds of report templates.

Realise these negatives seem longer than the positives: but these are nit-picking details really. 

Buy with confidence: it's a superb and ever-evolving platform, and a must have/gamechanger for any SME consulting business. Just make sure you take your time to understand what you are buying and how best to tailor it to your needs: talk to the Sales team about this, then gear your onboarding, invest time in your team's input and upskilling, and build your version to reflect your way of doing things.

Managing pipeline, costing, resourcing, ongoing project management, invoicing, reporting (financial-->utilisation-->resourcing etc.)

Reviewing projects, aside staff, to ensure that both are adequately resourced is a little difficult. I have also struggled with the Xero connection, but I still need to work on this element.

Understanding which projects are currently profitable. Which projects have and haven't been profitable in the past. Using this information to structure fee proposals for future projects to ensure profit margins are maintained.

Can be a bit clunky to use, adjusting resource in resource schedule can be frustrating.  Reallocates time could do with function to lock time.  Disconnect between Activities, resource and timeline.

I believe there is a new release related to tasks being rolled out in the near future.

**What do you like best about CMap?**

The resourcing side of CMap is really easy to use. We have quite a rigid way of resourcing and as a result do not use all of the features CMap offers, but it has been relatively easy to find an approach that works for us. 

The project pages and project tracking is really clear and has improved massively this past year with the updates that have been introduced (for example, the project graph on the "Project Details" page. This makes it much easier for our less advanced CMap users to understand at a glace how a project is tracking.

CMap offers an integration with HubSpot, which we use for our CRM. This is a big advantage and should be a big time saver.

Our Account Manager is fantastic, and we worked with a Consultant for a few months which had a huge impact on advancing our use of CMap. If you're implementing CMap with no prior experience of a platform like this, having someone who dedicates the time to understand your use case and can help you set the system up in a way that works for you is crucial to success. We would not be where we are without the time and support from Sophie.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

The report builder is exceptionally complex to use and not intuitive. It is also limited in what you can report on and how you visualise data. It is veery hard to upskill people in report building.

The Customer Support is patchy. The support you get through the support email address used to be fantastic but it feels as though the quality has declined this past year. I am mainly in touch with support for help with building reports. If the report builder were easier to use, it would save me asking a lot of questions!

We have been experiencing an ongoing issue with our HubSpot integration (nearly 3 months). I've had the same call with multiple people and we are still no closer to having the issue resolved.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is our central platform for resourcing and tracking project metrics. Before CMap, resourcing was done on spreadsheets and we had no way of tracking and reporting on how our projects were performing. 

Now, this is all done in one place and changes only need to be made in the system. It also links to our revenue reporting and all ties in together.

Task management is not as powerful as other tools like Planner, but I see a new update is coming out.  Resourcing can be challenging for multiple small projects.

Organisation of projects and clients, measurement of productivity and financials.  Makes us more productive and efficient.

We've been using CMap since 2019 and it was one of the best decisions we've made for the business. Easy to use, powerful, reliable and stable, we can't imagine doing business without it. The support is excellent and there are always ongoing improvements being made.

**What do you like best about CMap?**

CMAP is a very efficient, user friendly project management tool. You are able to stay in control of projects using CMAP through the various functions it has available. It allows for individuals to view project details which helps teams to align in their understanding of a project. Additionally, project leads are also able to run reports to view useful details such as staff utlisation which helps with project allocation.

The best thing about CMAP is the in-depth functions available so you are constantly learning new ways to streamline your projects and subsequently making them more efficient.

Very complex information and high cost projects can be easily organised which makes CMAP a great project management tool for all organisations to utilise.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

Overall CMAP is very useful and I would recommend it for other businesses to use. I wouldn't say I dislike anything about CMAP but I would suggest they should make company's more aware of the functions they offer and how they can be implemented in day to day activities.

At my company, we run very complex projects simultaneously. Therefore, CMAP allows us to monitor our budgets to ensure we are not running hot on projects. It also allows us to effectively allocate staff members according to their availability (we are able to view this information by running reports).

Managing our projects and preventing double entry by integrating with Sage. Before we were managing projects in spreadsheets, with no consistency or visibility. We now have all our information in one place and everyone knows the processes. All this information then is fed into Sage via the integration tool, where before we were having to manually enter again, with the higher potential for errors.

Using CMap has saved us time, reduced erros and given us much better visilibity of where we are as a business at a given time, how we are performing and how we could be doing better. The information that comes out via reporting and the dashboard has been invaluable.

**What do you like best about CMap?**

Accessible platform which is quite intuitive for people who aren't tech savvy. Customer support is good and they do take on board suggestions so the platform has evolved in the 3 years of use.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

Personally, i would like the holiday booking sheet to speak to the timesheets more. Some of the reporting functions could also be more accessible on templates, but other than that it is a really great platform.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a busy consultancy practice and CMAP allows up to track utilisation and link this to fees, time, expenses, and change orders etc. We are now also using CMAP to link directly to our financial reporting system so we are really placing the system at the heart of all of our business operations.
