## CMap Reviews
 ### 1. Consulting-Focused PSA, But Not Very Intuitive at First

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Iona B. | Senior Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

It is built with a Management Consulting lens which other PSA's are not. The integration with Hubspot and Xero works well for us. Dan Short was also very helpful, answering all of our questions patiently throughout onboarding.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

It isn’t especially intuitive, and it takes a bit of time to get used to. I’d also like to be able to add the standard reports directly to dashboards, rather than having to build them from scratch.

We also experienced some delays during our onboarding process due to backend issues.

I would also say there could be a clearer explanation of exact steps that need to be taken and in what order when transferring data across when you are going through setup. As there was no guidance I felt we had to go back with lots of questions making it inefficient.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to have all of our data in one place, to enable business reporting and performance.

 ### 2. Game-Changing Project Planning, Resourcing, and Pricing with CMap

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gillian A. | Divisional Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

CMap has been a great tool to restructure how we plan, resource and price projects. From the outset, the support the team provided during the onboarding process was clear. Their regular teams calls helped the transition run smoothly, and they are still available now to deal with any queries we have.
The opportunity to suggest improvements is also great, and the developers at CMap are always taking suggestions on board to help improve the interfaces, navigation, making it more user friendly with every upgrade.
Before we started using CMap, resource meetings were time consuming and the recording outcomes was laborious. The staff availability reports, central planner and people planner tools all make resourcing very easy an transparent, saving management many hours of time.
The fee estimator tool integratiing with project timelines, and the reminders of invoices due ensure we always invoice on time, and can chase late payments more efficiently. The ability to use AI to scan similar projects / fees ensures we are getting better at fee proposals, giving us confidence that we are resourcing projects at the right level to improve profitability.
The ability to link contacts to projects / staff means many of our old QA forms are now obsolete. CMap provides everything we need in one user friendly location.
Whilst initially, it was a larger outlay, overall we can definitely see the cost savings it is providing us with every month. It is reliable, user friendly and game changing to our business.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

Whilst the CMap academy has been developed to provide many more training videos, guidelines across the whole system since we first signed up, if anything there is just too much information there now, and it sometimes can be tricky to quickly find the answers you need.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improved resourcing control, improved profitability across projects, better control of leave requests, personnel records and CRMs. All of this saves our management team time, freeing them up to go out and win new business.

 ### 3. Outstanding Human Support and Tailored Onboarding That Helps Us Manage Projects

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa B. | Personal Assistant to Borough Commander (Neil Basu), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

The human contact is a real standout. Having an account manager who is happy to meet with us and go over our needs throughout the year is incredibly helpful. We’re a small social enterprise, so we really appreciate that support. The onboarding was good and tailored to us, and although it’s quite a financial investment for our organisation, it genuinely helps us manage our projects.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

As a primarily funded organisation, we feel CMAP is really geared toward traditional consultancies—where you create a quote for the client and then the client pays. With funded work, it tends to be the other way around, so we end up creating a quote in CMAP almost retrospectively. That doesn’t fully match how we operate day to day, but it still helps us keep track of things overall.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool helps us keep track of associates, project spend, resource management, and revenue scheduling. Without it, we’d be right back to juggling multiple spreadsheets.

 ### 4. Great invoicing and dashboards, but external cost tracking needs better reporting

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David S. | Director at Beckenham Office, Quantity Surveyor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

Scheduling of invoicing is simple and easy to track. Reporting is simple and the custom reports feature is simple to use and allows bespoke reports to be generated.
The dashboards feature allows me to set up simplified dashboards for fee earning staff to allow a snapshot of their position which I can measure them against each other.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

The External costs feature does not allow us to monitor expenditure in the same way as Invoicing which is frustrating. We would like a monthly projection of externals spend to be provided on a simple report in the same way as invoicing.
CMAP is also relatively expensive for the amount of the software we use.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitoring of cash and invoicing is made exponentially better with CMAP compared with our old system.
Project Profitability is also easier to monitor.
The Timesheets and Expenses system works well for us and links directly to our project invoicing.

 ### 5. Live Project Updates That Save Time and Reduce Errors

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shena M. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

The live project environment approach means updates made in each project environment directly update all associated/linked management documents, saving time and also reducing double handling errors. The onboarding process was well refined and genuinely helpful.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

CMap works best when it’s used from the outset of projects. Starting with a backlog of live projects can be time-consuming and may lead to temporary inconsistencies in management reporting, unless the full history of each project is entered. The time and cost involved, depending on the business scenario, could be explained more clearly prior to purchase, but overall it remains a worthwhile venture.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From a practice management viewpoint, it reduces double handling of data. It also gives project teams a transparent, real-time view of team costs and delivery performance, so they can be proactive in managing overall team and project performance.

 ### 6. Great project management and finance integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa e. | Head of Practice Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

Very handy to have so many elements of the business connected in one piece of software. Updating one piece of data updates throughout the system. The link with Xero and with our document control in CMap PIM strengthens this. Support is also generally very quick to come back and resolve.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

We’ve had some issues with CMap not being able to produce the exact reports we need to monitor our profitability and productivity. However, CMap representatives are meeting with us to discuss and understand our needs.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMap seems to be constantly evolving to help us integrate aspects of our business management into one central place, and feedback is always taken on board. If we struggle with getting certain information out of the system then the team are able to develop solutions with us, help with reporting etc.

 ### 7. Auto-Budgeting Made Easy, with Fast and Helpful Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alesha P. | Finance Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I like how it can automatically build a budget from a fee, based on the profit target you’re aiming for. The resourcing schedule is very easy to use, and it lets you enter placeholders so the budget can be as accurate as possible.

The way employees add their timesheets and expenses is also straightforward and easy.

I also appreciate how quickly the support contact number can deal with queries and how they always keep you in the loop.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

There’s really nothing to dislike—only more to learn. We’re not using CMap to its fullest potential yet, and that’s something we’re actively working on with our account manager.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s helping us reach our profit targets and raise red flags sooner rather than later, especially on our longer projects.

 ### 8. Great Timesheets and Onboarding, but Clunky Reporting and Not Quite a One-Stop Shop

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I like the timesheets and fee estimators. Having visibility of how the assumptions we use when pricing work in terms of time, ultimately compare to the number of hours booked to a customer project has given us data and insights that we haven't had in the past. Also being able to understand what our staff are spending time on outside of customer facing activities has been insightful. The onboarding support we received was outstanding, particular thanks to Onai Mvenge for her support and patience!

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

The report builder is clunky and inflexible with what seems like thousands of fields to choose from, and it isn't always clear from the field name what data you will be getting. The pricing is expensive, particularly when we're paying full license costs for non-customer facing support functions, just so they can fill in timesheets. Unfortunately we haven't been able to get resource scheduling to work for us and the solutions we have for revenue forecasting/reporting and invoicing are better than the functionality in CMap. I feel a bit disappointed that CMap hasn't become the full one stop shop that I hoped it would but some of the features just aren't advanced enough to enable us to switch from our current solutions.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving the problem we had where we didn;t know what our staff were doing with their time and we had no visibility of customer/project profitability

 ### 9. Powerful Reporting for Clear Project Profitability—Plus a Handy HR Bonus

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

We can now keep track of project profitability, which we weren’t able to do before. The reporting functionality has given me substantial insight into both project and overall business financials, and it’s made it much easier to understand where we stand. The HR functionality was an unexpected bonus as well, and we’re using it a lot.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

It can feel a little clunky at times, especially having to remember to save timesheets instead of the system auto-saving. The integration with QuickBooks also isn’t seamless. I end up making mistakes when setting up invoices, and then I often have to issue credits rather than simply amending the invoice, which quickly becomes messy. I’d really like the flexibility to go back and edit an invoice after it’s been created.

The reporting functionality is good overall, but it isn’t intuitive enough. There are so many variables with similar names that I don’t always end up with the report I’m trying to run, particularly if I don’t set the dates exactly right.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding the profitability of our projects was the main problem we needed to solve, along with getting a clear view of our team’s utilisation. We use that information to course-correct when projects start to drift and to guide our staffing decisions.

 ### 10. Custom Reports and Excel Export Make Capacity Planning Easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

The most helpful thing for me is being able to download a custom report for my team to help quickly understand our capacity and pipeline. The way it works with excel is really handy as well as it means we can do some analysis of our figures and produce visual reports, which has helped me quantify some of points i have been making in a business case for an additional role.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

In terms of my own use I just find the timesheets a little clunky - I'd like to be able to use the Tab or arrow keys to navigate between boxes in the sheet rather than having to use the mouse, but this is a very minor point.
All other issues really stem I think from how other colleagues use it, and trying to get everyone up to speed with the new software, as opposed to issues with the software itself. This is more of an internal issue for us.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time tracking - to understand my overtime and see whether my team are meeting their deliverables targets on client work. This also helps evidence that projects often underestimate the time contribution required from researchers.
Capacity planning - both my own and my teams. I am better able to understand what capacity looks like across the team and into the future, which helps when deciding whether to pitch for new work or not.

 ### 11. Easy Timesheets and Leave Planning, but Occasional Glitches When Editing Entries

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I like being able to view the clash calendars for annual leave and time off, as it helps me plan ahead and organise my schedule more effectively. The system is also easy to navigate, particularly when inputting expenses and completing timesheets. The drop-down menus for work stages create a smoother workflow and speed up the process, as there is no need to manually type or re-enter project information each time. I also find it helpful that previously submitted timesheet information is stored for future weeks, as I often work on the same projects consistently and do not need to repeatedly search for project details.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

The system can be a bit glitchy at times when I’m editing time entries on the timesheet page. Occasionally, my changes don’t save or update correctly, and I have to close the page and reopen it before everything works properly again.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an employee, I mainly use CMAP for day-to-day tasks such as completing timesheets and applying for annual leave, so it does not currently connect to any wider activities or workflows within my role.

 ### 12. A True One-Stop Shop with a Single Source of Truth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

End-to-end management, therefore it's a one-stop shop and I don't need to buy multiple systems. All the data talks to one another and it's a single source of truth.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

CRM is clunky, so we have to rely on Hubspot. There are a few clunky areas in CMap that mean it's not very efficient (e.g. multiple button clicks to achieve an outcome, that could be achieved in far less button clicks). So it ends up being prone to error as a result. Additionally, I feel there's been a lot of focus on introducing AI but the AI features aren't very useful or relevant and I feel that this investment would have been better spent on improving the overall interface and efficiency in use of the system.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having the end to end, from CRM and pipeline management through to invoicing, and giving our teams easy access/ apps to add timesheet and expenses. It enables us to operate effectively with systems.

 ### 13. Comprehensive Tool for Landscape Architecture Practice

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren J. | Furniture Systems Planner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I like how straightforward CMap is to use and how it supports so many different functions of our project and business needs. It's easier to see how projects are performing, and it's seamless on the billing side. Previously, it was hard to see that overview quickly and be sure things were being looked after from a financial point of view.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

Reporting is clunky - you need to do quite a bit of it to get the knack of what type of report you need, and what the data samples mean. It can also be a little slow to update various items like fees and project setup. It was challenging to set up initially. Our data was all over the place, so there was quite a lot of work to fill in the data migration forms.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMap centralizes our business processes, managing timesheets, expenses, budgets, contacts, invoices, and reporting. It provides an easier way to track project performance and simplifies billing, which is crucial for our landscape architecture practice.

 ### 14. Robust Project Planning, But Setup Challenges

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I find the ability to track our data incredibly useful with CMap. We use various aspects of CMap, such as the fee estimator and budget versus actual pay, which are essential for our project management. The fee estimator helps us gain insight into whether our fees are being set correctly, and the budget versus actual feature allows us to see if we are sticking to our original estimates, ensuring that we are planning and managing projects correctly.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

I've struggled a little bit with the time charge function and how that is displayed on invoices. It seems that there's a time charge cap solution to that problem. Also, the initial setup was quite difficult because we didn't know how to use project management software. It's taken a few years for us to understand how it can be used and spread amongst the whole team.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use CMap to plan resources, track projects with timelines, and manage invoicing. It helps us assess project profitability, check fee settings, and ensure proper resource allocation. The tracking ability and fee estimator provide insights into budgeting vs. actual spending.

 ### 15. Boosts Project Profitability with Transparency

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kieron G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I like how CMap allows us to track and report on the profitability of projects and assess if our resource performance aligns with our expenditure. It provides total transparency within our practice, so everyone knows what they should be working on, when, and how much time they should commit to each project. The onboarding process was a few months, but the support team was excellent, helping us set up our projects into CMap effectively.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

I think we're still learning of some of the functions. We've only had it for a year and a half, so we're still figuring out some aspects. We now track expenses on CMap so this is new learning for us.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use CMap for project resource estimation, tracking, and reporting activities. It helps track profitability, resource performance, and expenses, providing transparency and improving efficiency, ensuring we know what and when to work on tasks without relying on our previous Excel based system.

 ### 16. Boosts Project Insight, Needs Expense Management Tweaks

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian S. | Project Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I like how CMap collates up-to-date data across all our projects, helping us understand where attention is needed in the business. I appreciate how time incurred and planned resources for individual projects are presented in clear reports. This allows us to see if a project is performing as expected or if we need to make adjustments. I also value that fee forecasts are collated and updated instantly, so we can see what impact each project will have on the business's scheduled income.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

Management, tracking, and planning of expenses is still quite clumsy and time-consuming. Creating custom reports requires a bit of trial and error to get the information that's wanted. A better link to Xero or Hubdoc for sharing or allocating bills to projects would be helpful. Being able to create expense categories when entering a bill, rather than ensuring this is set up first, is needed.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use CMap for fee, time, and resource management. It collates up-to-date data across projects, providing clear reports on time and resources used, helping me see project performance and adjust if needed. Fee forecasts are instantly updated, letting me understand each project's impact on scheduled income.

 ### 17. CMap Delivers Great Value with Easy Navigation, Strong Sage Integration, and Helpful Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

CMap is a fantastic product overall, and it’s definitely worth the money. It covers everything a business needs for day-to-day operations, from project tracking to managing your workforce, and it makes it easier to keep on top of the essentials.
CMap connects well with Sage using the integration tool which makes it easy to post invoices and purchase orders through.
The overall system performance of CMap is good, however there is times it can run quite slow or you receive an error message. It provides you with a code for you to contact support and they are able to look into and help you with any issues.
The new CMap Chat which is powered by AI is absolutely fantastic, it can search through the whole system to answer questions you may have on projects, reporting, people etc.
Overall navigating CMap is very easy but if you have any issues CMap support and your support manager are always very helpful.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

I feel CMap onboarding could be improved, this was the most difficult stage for us. CMap academy has so many training videos to watch which is fantastic once you are up and running but actually providing the original data to CMap was challenging.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMap is allowing PM's to take more control of their projects and have a better view of how their projects are performing.
People tracking has been made more efficient using the people planner and resourcing on projects.

 ### 18. All-in-One Project Info and Reporting That Saves Us Hours

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I like how all project information can be stored in one place with easy access to costs, invoicing and who is working on the projects. on a daily basis the dashboard provides up to date information about all of our projects and the navigation is smooth when moving from one area of the software to another.
The reporting options work well for us and the pre-loaded as well as custom reports have saved us countless hours and avoided the use of numerous excel spreadsheets. The integration with Xero has also assisted with time saving.
The support offered by CMap is really helpful and all advisors that I've dealt with have been knowledgeable and eager to assist with any queries that we may have.
I have only used the new intelligence features in a limited manner but I imagine that as these continue to be developed that they will become an integral part of the way I use the software. The initial information provided by AI about how previous projects to a certain client have been over or under budget have been completely enlightening.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

There are some limitations with the reporting options that make it difficult to refine certain reports to show the data we actually want to see. If we were able to amend the pre-loaded reports and then save them as new custom reports, with some additional information included, that would be massively helpful.

It would also be useful if we could remove some of the automatically created options for project creation, as well as reduce some of the list options within particular sections.

We do sometimes experience slow performance from CMap. While it generally doesn’t stop us from working, it can still be frustrating.

The pricing options for increasing users are also fairly frustrating, as we need to increase numbers in multiples of five. Being able to increase or decrease users individually would be more cost-effective for us as a business.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to view our forecasted invoicing for the months ahead is extremely helpful. Previously, we were relying on Excel spreadsheets shared between several staff members, with formulas that often glitched. Cmap has enabled us to see the company figures as a whole and forecast how we expect the business to perform.

We also used to keep project information and invoicing details in individual job folders. That approach was time-consuming, especially when it came to invoicing and trying to track down specific contacts and addresses so CMap has enabled us to save a huge amount of time each month.

 ### 19. Versatile Tool with Project Planning and Invoice Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nadia P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I like that CMap is very useful for planning projects, and I like that you can add things if needed. The integration with all the invoicing and being able to update and have your own kind of templates for invoicing is good. The report builder is good as well because I can build my own reports as I want them. Being able to export to Excel is good.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

The worst thing is doing time charge. We have to always go back and put into the resource builder what we ended up spending on the time. It's a bit laborious because you normally estimate your time charge, do the work, and it might differ. To reconcile the invoices and the fee estimator, we have to go back in and put what we actually did on the time charge back into the fee estimator.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMap sorts all our financial management, helps set up invoices, manage CRM, and plan projects effectively. The report builder is great for customizing reports.

 ### 20. Streamlined Project Financials, but Reporting Still Needs More Flexibility

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

CMap has replaced about 10 Excel spreadsheets into one manageable piece of software that everyone can access. We were after software that enabled us to manage the financial status of projects and by having invoicing, resourcing, timesheets, project profitability planning and CRM in one place - all linked together has improved our financial accountability and streamlined many elements of the business. The report builder tool also allows us to generate custom reports and graphs that are focused on specific company metrics and KPI's. Over time, many features have been introduced that improve useability such as showing availability of staff members alongside wider project resource planning, and being able to filter projects and resource by probability so we can see who is resourced to something that may have a low probability of happening.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

While all the data is there, we have found that the standard reports are extensive in nature but quite limiting in many cases in relation to the use for our organisation. The report builder has helped us create better reports for our purpose - but does not always allow reports to be built that help us get the best out of our data - so we often create multiple reports and then combine in Excel which isn't ideal and means that the data that could be presented on dashboards for staff to see easily now takes place behind the scenes. We know that it is theoretically possible to use pay extra to use the background data and process in software like power BI and then take back into dashboards - but this proved too expensive and incredibly complex - and would be much better if this could be delivered by CMap directly.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As explained in the first answer, we previously used many Excel spreadsheets to manage invoicing, resource plans, expenses, project fees to name a few and none of them talked to each other - CMap brings all of this together in a user friendly interface.

Recently we have started to use CMap mail too, which seems the best we have had to easily allocate and file e-mails into CMap PIM.

 ### 21. Streamlined Projects and Invoicing, but Reporting and Costs Need More Flexibility

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

What I like most about CMAP is how it brings everything together in one clear, easy‑to‑use platform. It has replaced multiple Excel spreadsheets and made managing projects, invoicing, resourcing, and timesheets far more efficient. The invoicing scheduling and tracking are simple, and the reporting tools make it easy to create tailored reports around our key metrics. I also really value the dashboards, which give fee‑earning staff a clear snapshot of their performance. Support is always very quick in responses and resolutions. Overall, CMAP has improved financial visibility, accountability, and saved a significant amount of time across the business.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

While CMAP holds a lot of valuable data, the standard reports can feel quite limiting for our specific needs. Although the report builder is helpful, it doesn’t always allow us to fully combine or present data in the most useful way, which often means exporting multiple reports and finishing the work in Excel. This reduces how much meaningful information can be easily shared through dashboards. The external costs feature is also less developed than invoicing, as it doesn’t provide clear monthly projections. Additionally, the cost of the software feels relatively high compared to the level of functionality we actively use.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMAP has solved the issue of managing critical information across multiple disconnected spreadsheets by bringing everything into one central, user‑friendly system. It gives us clear visibility over invoicing, cash flow, project fees, timesheets, expenses, and profitability, all of which now link together seamlessly. Monitoring cash position and invoicing is significantly easier and more accurate than before. The resource planning tool is especially valuable as it helps us understand team capacity and plan workloads more effectively. Being able to track project profitability in real time has also improved financial control. The Xero integration is helpful in pulling data. Overall, CMAP has streamlined our processes, reduced manual effort, and improved decision‑making across the business.

 ### 22. Streamlined Project Management with Room for API Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I find CMap really helpful because having resourcing and project tracking in the same system provides a single source of truth. The interface is generally pretty good. I like that the resource demand from the project managers can be seen immediately by the team leads, allowing us to see the impact of changes in allocated grades straight away in the resourcing schedule and make adjustments accordingly.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

Getting data in and out can be tricky. A better API for linking to other systems, like Power BI for visualization, or being able to import dates from MS Project would be really helpful. Real-time data updates, rather than having to wait for an overnight database extraction, would also be beneficial. It's not easy to bulk change data.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMap provides a single source of truth for project cost tracking and resourcing. It helps us see resource demand immediately, and the interface is pretty good, making it easier to manage resourcing and project tracking in one system.

 ### 23. CMap Unifies Core Business Functions with Great Reporting and Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

What I value most about CMap is that it has brought a wide range of core business functions together into one reliable, easy-to-use platform. It has allowed us to move away from disconnected spreadsheets and manual processes, giving us much better visibility over projects, resources and financial performance.

The management reporting is particularly useful, as it supports better decision-making and forward planning. I’ve also been impressed by the quality of the onboarding process and customer support. The team is responsive, knowledgeable and clearly understands the needs of consultancy businesses.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

As a micro-business, it has been frustrating that pricing tiers have not reflected the scale of our business. However, CMap has recently shown flexibility in this regard.

The integration with Outlook can be somewhat frustrating as it regularly requires users to sign in.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before adopting CMap, many of our core management processes relied on separate spreadsheets and manual systems, which made forecasting, project tracking and resource management more time-consuming and harder to oversee. CMap has brought these functions together into a single platform, improving visibility across the business and reducing administrative effort.

It has helped us manage projects, timesheets, annual leave and cashflow forecasting far more efficiently, while also giving us access to clearer management reporting and better forward planning tools. The result has been better operational control, more confidence in decision-making and more time to focus on delivering work for clients rather than managing internal processes.

 ### 24. CMAP Makes Project Management Easy, Efficient, and Stress-Free

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

What I like most about CMAP is how easy it makes everything feel. The project management is really straightforward to use. Overall, CMAP has saved me a lot of time and made managing work feel less stressful and more efficient.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

One downside of CMAP is the lack of a live audit trail, such as a “last updated by” feature directly visible on the page. Because of this, we can’t allow fee earners to amend fees each month, as there’s no clear visibility on who has made changes. It would also be much more efficient if the project bio could be edited directly from the main project page. Since fee earners update this section daily, having to click into each individual project every time can be quite time consuming.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMAP has helped centralise our project management, financial tracking and resource planning all in one place, which has made day to day operations much more efficient. It reduces the need for multiple spreadsheets and systems, meaning teams can access information quickly and work more collaboratively.

 ### 25. CMap Delivers Real-Time Financial Visibility

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

From a finance perspective, what stands out is how well CMap brings together project performance and financial data in one place, giving clear, real-time visibility over revenue, costs, WIP and billing. The integration with Xero works smoothly and helps reduce manual effort and reconciliation, which is a big efficiency gain for the team. We’ve also found the support to be responsive and helpful whenever issues arise or new requirements come up. It’s encouraging to see ongoing development of new features, particularly the addition of AI-driven functionality, which looks to further enhance reporting and insight over time.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

From a finance perspective, one of the main limitations is the level of customisation available in some of the standard workflows and screens—for example, timesheet approvals and certain reporting views—which can feel a bit restrictive when trying to align with specific internal processes.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMap helps us bring together our projects, people and financials into a single platform, which is particularly valuable as a growing consultancy practice. It replaces a number of disconnected spreadsheets and manual processes, giving us clear visibility over project performance, utilisation, revenue and profitability in real time. From a finance perspective, this improves the accuracy of forecasting, simplifies billing and reduces admin effort, allowing the team to focus more on analysis rather than data gathering.

 ### 26. Intuitive, User-Friendly Platform with Smooth Onboarding and Exceptional Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I have found the platform to be highly intuitive and user‑friendly, which has made it easy for me to access and interpret the relevant data I need. This has noticeably improved the efficiency of my day‑to‑day work.

The onboarding process was smooth and well‑organised. I felt supported throughout, and the guidance provided helped me integrate the platform into my workflow without any difficulty.

I would also like to acknowledge the exceptional support I received from Dan at CMap. He was extremely helpful in answering my many questions about integration and took the time to ensure I understood how the system could be tailored to suit my company’s needs. His expertise made the entire experience significantly easier.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

While my overall experience has been positive, there are a couple of areas where I believe the platform could be improved.
First, the filters do not function consistently across all categories, which can make it challenging to narrow down information efficiently.
Additionally, I sometimes find the custom report section difficult to navigate, as it is not always clear how to configure or adjust certain elements.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMap has addressed several operational challenges in my day‑to‑day work. It has helped me ensure that invoicing is completed on time, which has improved both accuracy and efficiency. Having all timesheets stored in one place has also streamlined internal processes and reduced the risk of missing information.

One of the most valuable aspects is having all key data consolidated on a single platform. This makes analysis far easier and allows me to make more informed decisions. The platform’s user‑friendly design means that everyone on the team can use it with ease, regardless of their technical ability.

Additionally, CMap provides greater visibility into client information, giving me a clearer understanding of each account and enabling better client management overall.

 ### 27. CMAP Is a Dream to Use and Best Support Team EVER!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

The integration with Xero Accounting is SUCH a time saver for processing invoices and capturing invoice payments, both are completed in a matter of moments across the 3 companies in our group.

I have found the CMAP Support team to be one of the best I have dealt with in my 35-year career. They always go above and beyond with patience, reassurance and friendliness and will seek out the answers and get back to me really quickly if they can't provide them immediately. I love that this service isn't outsourced to an impersonal team on the other side of the world. It's also great to have a dedicated manager who checks in regularly and ensures we are aware of all software updates and improvements, and to be able to watch quarter and year-end seminars with your team makes for a very informative service.

The CMAP Academy is also brilliant. The variety of resources is great and the length of the lessons is always spot-on. I work in the Finance team so I don't use resourcing or other architecture-specific tasks but after joining the company I was very quickly asked to build reports. Having never worked for an architecture studio or with CMAP previously, I have found the software and report building incredibly easy to self-teach thanks to all of your support resources.

I find the performance of the software very smooth and efficient and the format of data presentation on screen is very user-friendly and easy to track through to other areas.

The AI tips and pop-ups that have recently been introduced across all areas in the software are great - again very user-friendly. I particularly like the Billing Intelligence which provides a quick insight into the payment history of the client and provides awareness of any invoices that are overdue or haven't been created yet - really useful.

Overall CMAP is incredibly user-friendly and a dream to use.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

I have found learning how to build reports a challenge at times, it isn't always easy to know what type of report to go for, or which data fields to include, it's great that there's so much to choose from but this can also be overwhelming and causes time/effort to go to waste. I can't wait for some AI guidance in this area.

I don't like that it doesn't auto-save changes in areas such as CRM and timesheets.

Back to reporting - if you change a column title please can the data field name stay in the same in the build area?!! It's REALLY hard to go back and identify where you got selected the field from otherwise.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have built and rolled out CMAP dashboard reports across the company, which is improving project financial awareness and also basic project maintenance/admin within CMAP. In turn this is producing cleaner data for reporting to directors, and providing a higher level of strategic reporting which will help decision making surrounding business direction in the future.

Through building a custom page for our QA to be stored in CMAP, I have been able to move the company across from a clunky Google doc and this is helping to identify QA areas that require closer monitoring - extremely important for audits.

 ### 28. CMap: A Single Source of Truth for Financials, Forecasting, and Project Performance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

CMap has become the single source of truth for our project financials, which is a big deal for a 45-person practice running across three studios. The fee forecasting by probability gives us proper pipeline visibility, and being able to drill from practice-level reporting down to individual project performance means our 32 project leads can self-serve the data they need without routing every question through finance. Timesheet and time off reporting has given us utilisation insight we'd never get from spreadsheets. Having finance, resourcing, and project management in one platform rather than three separate systems is great for us, and the recent AI insights upgrades look really good.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

The Sage 50 integration could be better - it works, but the sync isn't as seamless as I'd want for a finance team relying on it daily. Audit logs being locked behind higher price tiers rather than available as standard feels off for a system handling project financial data; that should be table stakes. API access is also more restricted than I'd like, which has limited some of the custom reporting we'd otherwise build ourselves.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMap gives us live visibility of project performance, fee forecasting, and resourcing in one place, so decisions get made on current data rather than last month's snapshot. It saves finance significant time on reporting, and project leads can see how their work is tracking without waiting on us. The weighted pipeline forecasting has changed how we talk about workload and recruitment at board level. As an employee-owned practice where colleagues genuinely care about the numbers, that shared financial visibility is a real benefit.

 ### 29. Powerful Integrations and Improved Support, Though Setup Takes Time

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emma G. | Talent & People Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

Cmap is becoming more and more a go to tool for our business, they're developing and enhancing tools and add ons all the time to give us greater performance with better intergrations. The support and onboarding process over the last 12 months and increased significantly.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

Like most systems it can take alot of investment of time to get things up and running, however worth it.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Resource tool is always a big one for us, and we're excited to be nearly there with this tool now, after a very long couple of years. Our people are important to us, and this allows us to see who has capacity and who doesn't.

 ### 30. Knowledgeable Staff, but CMAP’s Siloed Data Limits Reporting Flexibility

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

Staff very knowledgeable about the system and helpful if they can (within the limitations of the system)

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

Difficulties accessing data in a usable form. Date appears to be "silo'd" making accessing the data required challenging if not impossible. Standard reports can't simply be exported updated and then saved as customsied. Invoicing data very difficult to access in a usable form. AI is an option but only within the confines of the system data limitations rendering its use very limited. It feels like the structure of the database may have been fit for purpose when CMAP was first designed, but not necessarily fit for purpose now given how data and databases have evolved. CMAP is fallin significantly behind its competitors for flexibility of use.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It enables our project managers to manage time spent on their projects and to invoice the client. Better than any manual system

 ### 31. Comprehensive Project Management with Seamless Integrations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Holly H. | Senior Mentor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I find CMap to be a one-stop shop that helps with time management, project management, and CRM tasks. It is user-friendly overall and allows the creation of custom reports and pages, which is very helpful as we can download reports like the WIP and CRM/BD each month. I appreciate its ability to sync with Xero and how it works well with other software rather than trying to replace them. Additionally, the initial setup was fairly easy, making it accessible for our team of about 20 people.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

It takes a long time to train someone properly on it, could be more intuitive maybe. The way that Fee estimator, BVA, and resourcing all change things within the project as a whole. Where the data comes from on the Project details sections.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMap lets us track multiple projects in our studio with one tool, so everyone can easily learn and use it without needing multiple platforms.

 ### 32. Flexible, Always Improving, and Very User-Friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily U. | Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

What I find best using CMap is the flexibility that it offers, to customise and develop - in fact, CMap has never stopped developing and pushing for better features in response to it's clients, so with that said, very user friendly.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

The only dislike it not seeing the name of the page I am using on the tab on my browser. When I have multiple tabs open, it would be so useful to distinguish between them.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The issues surrounding debt chasing are being improved by CMap as they have created features which make it accessible to access the information and how to use this and create reports.

 ### 33. Clean, Fast, and Visually Friendly—CMap Shines with Xero Integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

The user interface is really clean, simple, and engaging to use. Some other systems similar to CMap aren’t very visually friendly, and that makes using the CMap platform a lot better. Performance is fast, and it integrates well with Xero. The support team is very helpful whenever there’s an issue or problem, and the CMap business hours feature is a really useful tool. The onboarding process could be improved a little for both CMap and CMap mail. The new AI features haven't been fully tested/used yet so cant comment.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

The onboarding has been difficult and has taken longer both times we’ve used new features. The Cmap help/chat bot doesn’t always capture what I need help with, and the academy guidance can sometimes be confusing.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are more efficient, and it is helping us see our projects overall much better. With the support of cmap mail, this will hopefully make our process even more efficient and allow us to have full visibility into our projects.

 ### 34. Powerful Reporting with Intuitive Tools, Needs Better Data Guidance

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom A. | Business Intelligence Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I think the report builder in CMap is really useful. It's quite intuitive and you can do quite a lot with it. It sort of works better than some other similar CRMs. You can slice things in quite a lot of different ways and do a lot of different functionality in terms of how you're aggregating values. It also helps us automate our reporting by connecting directly to the background data, allowing us to automate the reporting process daily. It allows us to get a deeper view of the relationships between revenue and different projects and people.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

I think with the background reporting data, it's been a bit of a challenge to understand how different calculations are built up. Having to recreate some calculations when connecting to the DRS has been a bit of a challenge. I think the way to improve that would be to put in more guidance, documentation in the background to allow users to better understand the background data they're connecting to.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMap automates our reporting by connecting directly to background data, providing a deeper view of relationships between revenue and projects. The report builder function is useful for ad hoc features and slicing data in various ways.

 ### 35. Intuitive UI and New Features, but some functionality needs more refinement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I like using CMap compared to other platforms available because CMap is clear and intuitive in its UI. In terms of functionality, I haven't found may examples of things that are outright not available, and I enjoy that the dev team are constantly rolling out new features, such as the paid date function and the AI payment behavior feature when raising ales invoices

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

Some of the reporting can be quite frustrating. A few elements and reporting fields feel misleading, or could really use a pop-up that explains how the field is calculated and/or where in CMap it’s derived from. I’ve heard from other CMap users that this is a common frustration for them as well.

It can also feel like there are sometimes too many field options to choose from. Instead of only showing the raw data field options, there are also “quick” fields that are pre-calculated in some cases - I understand in some instances this is helpful, but on most occasions it clutters the list and slows me down. However, as mentioned, it’s not always clear how those have been calculated. Because of that, I often end up spending time manipulating things in Excel, or doing trial-and-error report building in CMap, just to figure out how the data is being derived.

Some of the integration features such as the import tool, work on a very basic level, but have very little flexibility if actions fall outside of the user journey. For example, if you need to process and expense claim outside of the import tool, it will still remain in the tool to import and there is no way for the user (me) to remove it without getting creative and finding a work around. Also, basic things like there isnt an ability to edit entries before posting in the tool, and the 'sort by' toggles dont actually work.

Support from the team when we have queried is good, but often we find we are pointed in the direction of stock instructions (as with the set up of the import tool) that don't actually address the question we have asked. In this instance it took weeks to solve the issue despite being an issue I would imagine have definitely seen with other users, so unsure why it has taken so long to be resolved in our case? seems to be hit and miss with whether the support agent you speak to has seen it before. Perhaps some continuity of knowledge management here from a support perspective is needed?

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Importing expenses using the add-in tool reduces our workload by about 2 business days a month! very pleased to have this functionality working. Wish there was the same for importing sales invoices to Sage in a similar way

 ### 36. Transforms Messy Data into Valuable Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lola E. | Delivery Management Advisor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

What stands out the most for me about CMap is how it turns something that’s usually messy in terms of data collection, time tracking, or even just project details into a clear, usable picture of project reality. This ensures that decisions are based on accurate information rather than guesses. I really appreciate the reflective area where collected data can be easily reported. CMap’s integration with systems like Power BI is also a huge plus, allowing me to pull data directly into Power BI and create structured dashboards. I like that CMap allows for in-depth data analysis, which is crucial for my work.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

There's a lot of admin overhead when using CMap, especially as a super user. In terms of data entry, for example, using the skills matrix system involves manual overload to ensure data is efficiently put into it. CMap doesn't integrate with a lot of systems that would make it easier to function. It would be great if CMap integrated with the systems I use on a day-to-day basis to reduce this admin overhead and make work easier.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use CMap to log work hours, gain insights into project progress, and control effort visibility. It standardizes time tracking, making work auditable and planning reliable. CMap is crucial for consulting, comparing estimates to actuals, and managing workload distribution effectively.

 ### 37. Effortless Project Management with CMap

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I like how easy CMap is to use and how it keeps all information in one place, making everything clear and concise. It's great for managing a large number of projects and helps keep me on track with activities. The invoicing feature works well, and CMap adapts easily when clients make changes. I also found the initial setup to be very easy.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

The Teams integration isn't great. At the moment, you don't know where the files are saved, and I'd like to be able to save a document in the CMap documents section and then find it in Teams.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMap keeps all information in one place, making project management clear and concise. It keeps us on track with activities when managing many projects. It's easy to use, and invoicing works well, adapting easily when clients change things.

 ### 38. Comprehensive Project Management with Room for Reporting Improvements

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Holly R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I like that CMap is always developing and listening to feedback. The live margin information on projects is helpful to track where we're at. I find the new notification feature useful as it clarifies which projects are losing money without having to search. With CMap, it's easier to see the profile of the projects and give consultants the information they need when managing their projects.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

The reporting and dashboard side of things could be improved. I'd love to be able to have more visual reports and charts, for it to be clearer which report does what and some templates to use for consultancies. I'd also love to be able to create a dashboard that then gets shared to leadership and sector leads. We have lots of requests for data and reports but no capacity to really dig into it all.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMap helps us view all consulting engagement information as a single source of truth, allocate staff efficiently, improve project information and reporting, see project profiles quickly, and provide consultants with necessary information for running projects.

 ### 39. CMap Review: Strengthening Resource, Margin, and Pipeline Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

It has added significant value across pipeline visibility, resource management, margin management, and time sheeting, and it has helped us establish a much stronger single source of truth across the organisation. A feature I particularly like is the ability to pre-load mandatory company holidays, which has been very helpful for realistic capacity and resource planning.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

One adjustment we have had to make is in how we scope projects, to ensure they align more closely with CMap’s fee estimation approach. That took some change management internally, but it ultimately led to more consistency in planning and forecasting. In the earlier stages, we did experience challenges integrating CMap with other systems, and as a result we didn’t pursue those integrations further at the time. I can’t comment on whether this has improved in the past four to five years, but it would be good to understand how integration capabilities have evolved since then.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMap has been a great asset to the business. It has added significant value across pipeline visibility, resource management, margin management, and time sheeting, and it has helped us establish a much stronger single source of truth across the organisation.

 ### 40. Easy to Use but Needs Dropdown Simplification

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel E. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I like CMap because it's usable and well laid out, which makes it quick and easy to use. I use time sheets the most, and they provide an easier way to keep track of time. The initial setup was very easy, and I could log in and see the rest of the team and the different projects we're working on.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

Sometimes when I'm entering time sheets for lots of projects, it's a bit complicated to track the hours spent on each project because there are different stages. The dropdowns could maybe be simplified. They sometimes disappear or restart each week. It'd be nice if there was an automatic template for projects I'm working on so I could just fill it in.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use CMap for logging my time off, annual leave, and doing expenses.

 ### 41. CMAP Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2022

**What do you like best about CMap?**

Being in a small company, as a Project Manager is quite a time task consuming having to use spreadsheets on a daily basis to keep track of everything. This is automatically done using CMAP and is an easy way to keep track of your projects

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

CMAP is not perfect and has its own limitations. It is not straightforward and you need to spend quite a lot of time getting used to it. Also, it does not accurately account for the overheads of a company, therefore I can't ensure that the profit levels for a project I'm currently looking at are actually correct.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The overall experience is great even though with the limitations. CMAP is a tool that definitely will save you a lot of Admin hours. The bigger the company the better the results!

 ### 42. Intuitive and Effective Time Management Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karol S. | Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I really appreciate how intuitive and clear CMap is, which makes it easy to use. I use it mainly for timesheets, and it helps me manage clashes with my colleagues' holidays and allows me to allocate time spent on projects efficiently. The clash calendar is particularly valuable for managing team schedules. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy, making the transition smooth. I'm likely to recommend CMap to a friend or colleague.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

Maybe adding different bank holidays for groups of people. We have a Polish and Irish team - it would be good to set it up this way so different bank holidays are for the Polish team and different for the Irish team.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMap helps me manage holiday clashes with colleagues and allocate time spent on projects effectively.

 ### 43. Seamless Xero Integration and Clear Portfolio Visibility with CMap

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vian v. | Finance Mnager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

Integration with Xero allows for seamless synchronisation of financial data, reducing manual data entry and the risk of errors. It enables real-time updates between systems, improves accuracy in reporting. CMap provides excellent visibility into both individual project performance and consolidated portfolio performance, enabling clearer oversight and more informed decision-making

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

While the system provides strong reporting capabilities, its accuracy is highly dependent on consistent data entry, and maintaining all data points requires a significant time investment

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It offers comprehensive project management excellence, catering effectively to a diverse range of user functions and needs

 ### 44. Clear Interface, Minor Project Log Challenges

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marianna D. | Architectural Graduate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I like how CMap's interface is clear to understand. It's easy to navigate, even if you've never used the platform before, and it's quite fast to log in information.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

Sometimes it starts to log in the hours you spend on a project based on the stage of the project because we need to put in the stages ourselves for each project. If a different person made it, the stages are not the same. I would like CMap to have an automatic setting where you can put standard stages so for each project you find the same identical stages to log your hours.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use CMap for logging hours on projects, managing leave, and tracking expenses. It helps me coordinate time off with my team and understand expense reimbursements.

 ### 45. Efficient Workforce Management with User-Friendly Interface

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gem A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I use CMap to manage contingent workers and appreciate its ease of use and the excellent suite of readily-built reports. The resourcing schedule with the auto-schedule feature is great, as it helps us save time by auto-scheduling a worker across the project timeline. CMap provides a powerful suite of tools to align finance, people, and project managers. The initial setup was fairly easy, thanks to the onboarding team handling all the data integrations.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

The custom report builder is very hard to use - if it could be made simpler it would be awesome. I actually think adding an AI report-building feature would be great.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use CMap to manage contingent workers, set up multiple accounts, resource them on projects, and price them accordingly. The auto-schedule saves time, and the reports feature provides a suite of readily-built reports that are easy to use.

 ### 46. CMap Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I like how everything is linked together, and I also appreciate the support team.

The UI is also great and feels very intuitive.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

There are potentially some improvements that could be made with things in Report builder that allow for more free flowing creation of reports.

Sometimes it feels that things are limited to what can be done because of how you have to pick a report type.

It would also be great to have more built in dashboards/metrics about project health to date.
There is a lot of focus on how a project will end up however it would be nice to know via a number read out things such as profit to date etc.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One place for an integrated project management solution. Works very well.

 ### 47. Highly Customisable, User-Friendly System with a Thorough Support Team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I appreciated how customisable the system is to suit the terminology and processes already in place in our organisation, it is also very user friendly. The support we received in onboarding and beyond was also very thorough, with Dan Short answering all questions quickly and explaining everything thoroughly.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

The integrations so far haven't been as useful as we expected, but that is not a major problem. The reporting function could also be improved to pull from all areas of the system, rather than limited sections. The system also often runs a little slowly.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is providing a central tool for the organisation to use, allowing for more oversight and easier collection of data. It is also modernising the way we work.

 ### 48. All-in-One Operational Visibility, But Reporting and Flexibility Need Work

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

What I like best about CMap is that it centralises several key business functions into one platform. Having timesheets, project profitability tracking, employee expenses, holiday management, and commercial reporting all in one place creates strong operational visibility across projects and teams.
One of the strongest features is the BVA interface, which gives senior staff a clear and accessible way to engage with the commercial performance of projects, while also helping more junior team members develop a better understanding of project profitability and financial management.
The system also captures a significant amount of valuable project and resource data, which supports better decision-making and accountability across the business. From a workflow perspective, having these tools integrated into one platform reduces the need to manage multiple disconnected systems.
While there are still areas that could be improved - particularly around reporting flexibility, onboarding, and some of the newer AI-driven insights - the core strength of CMap is its ability to bring operational, financial, and project management information together in a single system.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

What I dislike about CMap is that some areas of the platform still feel overly manual and lack flexibility, particularly for businesses with more complex staffing and reporting requirements.
For example, managing staff with irregular or alternating working hours can become very time-consuming. Changes often require multiple individual updates rather than allowing for more dynamic or automated scheduling options, which creates unnecessary administrative work.
Reporting is another area that could be improved significantly. While CMap captures a large amount of useful operational and financial data, extracting that information into practical, client-friendly reports is not always straightforward. A good example is invoicing data - the platform already contains the relevant information, but producing a clean invoice register or easily shareable summary report is more difficult than it should be.
There are also occasions where some of the AI-driven commercial insights produce unrealistic or difficult-to-trust outputs without enough explanation or validation behind them. This can reduce confidence in the intelligence features when reviewing project profitability or sector performance.
Finally, onboarding and implementation could be improved. As an early adopter, there were challenges around communication relating to implementation requirements, costs, data storage implications, and the practical setup process. More structured onboarding and clearer guidance would have made adoption smoother.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMap solves a number of operational and commercial management challenges by bringing project management, resource planning, timesheets, expenses, holiday tracking, and financial performance data into a single platform. This centralisation gives much better visibility across projects, teams, and business performance, reducing the need to manage multiple disconnected systems.
One of the biggest benefits is improved oversight of project profitability and resource management. The BVA and commercial reporting tools help project leads and senior staff monitor financial performance more closely, identify issues earlier, and make better-informed decisions throughout a project lifecycle.
The platform also helps create greater commercial awareness across teams. Having financial and project data more accessible allows junior team members to better understand how projects are performing commercially, not just operationally.
From an administrative perspective, having expenses, leave management, and timesheets managed within one system improves consistency and reduces duplication of effort across the business. Overall, CMap provides a stronger operational structure and clearer visibility into both project delivery and business performance.

 ### 49. Solid Tool for Admin with Intuitive Timesheets

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gideon B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I find the CMap interface easy to use, which is a big plus. The timesheets feature is the best thing for me, and I'm surprised not everyone uses them. Using the timesheets means we can keep track of what's actually being done and how long things take, allowing us to correctly resource and budget for jobs.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

I find some of the financial features confusing. I think it would help if there was a version that was for smaller projects as it feels like using the large-scale features for small projects takes a lot of time.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMap helps us stay on top of financials and admin tasks across projects. Its easy interface and timesheets allow us to track time effectively, ensuring accurate resource allocation and budgeting.

 ### 50. Invaluable insight into your projects performance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2024

**What do you like best about CMap?**

Cmap gives a good overview of project finances, helps to stay on top of invoicing and helps to understand staff capacity. Everything that you need to project manage is in one place and you can add custom pages to suit your business needs. Help desk is very responsive and helpful. Once implemented is easy to use.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

You don't know what you don't know.... There are many great features on cmap that we did not know about. They needed to be switched on/activated for our account, but for a long time we did not have them as we did not know they were there and that we needed to ask for them to be activated.
Also custom report building is a great tool, but it takes a bit of time to master it.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Staying on top of the budget, managing staff availability and external contractors. Reporting is extremally helpful.
