**What do you like best about CMap?**

I find the CMap interface easy to use, which is a big plus. The timesheets feature is the best thing for me, and I'm surprised not everyone uses them. Using the timesheets means we can keep track of what's actually being done and how long things take, allowing us to correctly resource and budget for jobs.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

I find some of the financial features confusing. I think it would help if there was a version that was for smaller projects as it feels like using the large-scale features for small projects takes a lot of time.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMap helps us stay on top of financials and admin tasks across projects. Its easy interface and timesheets allow us to track time effectively, ensuring accurate resource allocation and budgeting.

**What do you like best about CMap?**

Cmap gives a good overview of project finances, helps to stay on top of invoicing and helps to understand staff capacity. Everything that you need to project manage is in one place and you can add custom pages to suit your business needs. Help desk is very responsive and helpful. Once implemented is easy to use.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

You don't know what you don't know.... There are many great features on cmap that we did not know about. They needed to be switched on/activated for our account, but for a long time we did not have them as we did not know they were there and that we needed to ask for them to be activated. 
Also custom report building is a great tool, but it takes a bit of time to master it.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Staying on top of the budget, managing staff availability and external contractors. Reporting is extremally helpful.

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I find CMap fairly intuitive and simple to use, which makes the setup pretty easy for us. I like the invoicing features and the revenue feature. All the project management aspects of the application itself are really useful. These features allow us to track our business effectively, monitoring both the costs and earnings. The invoice schedule setup helps us quickly set and adjust schedules as needed, while the revenue window ensures we're recognizing and reconciling the correct amount of revenue every month. The project management aspect allows us to assign hours to resources and set estimates, which completes the way we track our projects. The tool itself does a good job in setting up the dashboards.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

I think there needs to be a little more consistency with how pages are designed, especially with link backs. It feels like some pages or areas are built without consistency to how other modules may be built. Also, the reporting aspect has a lot of limitations and isn't fully intuitive. It's not clear which report I have to build off of to get specific information. The database schema doesn't link all tables in a way that allows pulling one report to get multiple levels of data back from invoicing, which is crucial, especially when doing time and materials.

CMap helps me track projects from pipeline to completion, manage resources, and handle invoicing centrally, instead of manually through spreadsheets. It enables tracking business costs and revenue, setting invoice schedules, and ensuring proper revenue recognition, completing our project management needs.

The Onboarding and ongoing support provided by the whole team at CMAP has been exceptionally good, as well as offering a very competitively priced product

Our biggest dislike is the inability to invoice a time charge product with a small degree of rounding (up or down)

CMAP has helped surface issues we have with Project profitability that was hidden in the previous system.
The volume of reporting available is a vast improvement for us

It's a very intuitive system and staff have found it very easy to use.  The Resource Schedule is a very useful tool, as it the Report Builder.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

The invoicing interface could be a little better, being able to invoice with different VAT rates on one invoice for example, or reporting on WiP could be slicker.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's allowing us to manage our projects efficiently and effectively.  Being able to monitor profitability of projects is a game changer.

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I like the flexibility that is built within CMap. Its UX/UI design is easy to navigate. The software's flexibility allows us to add our own columns and drop-downs, which is hugely helpful and beneficial.

maybe a revise of the annual leave calendar. I understand how it works similar to a heat map, but I do think there might be another view layer similar to if you were to take your iPhone calendar view, how you can scroll into week, day, month to year view, might be helpful.

CMap helps us resolve and minimize workload by embedding quality management systems, including project quality plans, into one program, reducing data fragmentation.

**What do you like best about CMap?**

That everything is in one place e.g. company contacts, projects, budgets, resources, timesheets etc. and they are all linked to provide useful statistics/information such as profitability on which to base decisions.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

That not everyone in the company is using it to enter their project details and timesheets. It's simple enough to use but not everyone can be persuaded so not really a criticism of the actual system but of the users.

I'm using it for entering my stakeholders' timesheets and looking for company contact details and live projects - all very useful as they're all in one place without me having to open various spreadsheets.

The resourcing tool and reports are very helpful and link to projects so you can clearly see employee availability and utilisation levels. People Planner tool is great to amend resourcing in a 1 page view.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

We don't link our Finance system (FreeAgent) to CMAP so we enter the invoicing manually, this is not a CMAP thing but more the way we work.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing us to track all our opportunities (as well as live projects) so gives us a clear view of our pipeline and the capacity we have/need to fulfil the work we may potentially lands. Helps the resourcing & recruitment decisions. Also have the ability to track our associates that can support too on projects.

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I like the timesheet features that log in and automatically create entries, which then convert it to the cost of the project. It helps me to look at the monthly project costs. I also appreciate being able to see the project's profile to determine whether we are making a profit or a loss, which helps us adjust the time we allocate to staff accordingly.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

The dashboard doesn't work well when trying to create different shortcuts, as it doesn't seem to point in the right directions needed. Additionally, I think CMap should be integrated with Sage to avoid running two separate software systems just to track accounts.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use CMap for logging, timesheets, creating client profiles, and tracking fee proposals, making it easier to allocate time and assess project costs and profitability.

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I like the simplicity of use in CMap. The user interface is quite good, allowing me to navigate around the system efficiently. It makes long and unwieldy processes manageable and engages users well.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

Reporting is an area where it could be improved. It doesn't allow particularly for cross-functional reporting. For example, you cannot pull resourcing data into a report which has got revenue information on. They just don't talk to each other. I've also noted with the API that when you're using it with Power BI, you have to compute some of the resourcing and margin outcomes, it doesn't do it for you. So I think that is a bit of a weakness.

CMap helps us resource projects, create budgets, and manage them effectively. It captures data like invoices, expenses, and timesheets, becoming our single source of information, tracking revenue through to gross margin in our P&L.

It requires quite a lot of background information to make it useable. If this is not my project, I need to spend time with people first before I can use it. Some pages automatically save and others you need to click save at the top of the screen

An easy way to see how much time people are spending on your projects vs how much time has been budgetted to them. That helps me because I can readjust the project plan very quickly / before problems arise

A lot of integrated functions. there is good support available.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

There needs to be more flexibility in adapting to different work environments and methods. For example since Covid there has been a rise of working from home. We still need to understand when people arent working in the traditional way, this should be fast and obvious. Currently working from home etc makes it unclear whether people are working or not. The tools need refined to better understand this.

The expenses app is clunky and not very user-friendly. I also wonder if it would be good to have an app instead of logging in via a browser.

within the time off section, being able to see when colleges are off is very useful to ensure that all staff are co-ordinated and that resources are allocated at the proper time.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

within the timesheets if there was a way to be able to create a set template for jobs that one might be working on, so we don't need to keep entering in each job worked on for that week.

I really like how in the timesheets section of CMap, you can filter off different parts. It helps me to quickly solve problems such as putting in my leave and my expenses very quickly and efficiently. I find it quite useful, and it helps with a lot of problems related to that.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

I found it a little tricky at the start to figure out what I'm doing, how I'm doing it, such as where do I go to put and how do I uploaded the expenses. So it took a little bit to get used to. It was a little hard at first for me to get my head around it.

I find CMap helps me quickly solve problems like submitting leave and timesheets efficiently. It's quite useful for managing these tasks.

**What do you like best about CMap?**

The system is easy to use and intuitive. The range of features mean you can customise it your organisational needs. I particularly appreciate the CRM features, including the ability to distinguish between leads and live opportunities. And also the ability to check my leave requests against the wider team, to prevent clashes.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

My main gripe would be that when you edit an opportunity you aren't prompted to hit save, so if you come out without doing so, your updates are lost.

**What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A central place to capture all CRM activity, a chance to schedule projects and understand profitability, and an easy way to see if leave requests clash and will cause us capacity issues. Not a direct benefit to me, but to the wider business, has been the automation of key management reports, resulting in lots of hours saved on processing each month.

I like that CMap is very user-friendly. I really like the budget versus actual feature within projects because I can see exactly how much time people are spending on the projects and whether we have over or undercharged it.

The invoicing schedule doesn't work well for me. Also, the pulp page doesn't work too well.

I use CMap to track project profitability, time sheets, and HR tasks. It helps ensure our fees are accurate by monitoring spending and timesheets. We handle invoicing, holidays, and expenses through CMap. The budget versus actual feature helps us manage project costs and future proposals.

**What do you like best about CMap?**

I use CMap for timesheets, resource programming, and holidays and appreciate how it supports budget projections, invoice scheduling, and resourcing clashes. I really like the ease of the user interface, which is user-friendly and simple to use. The initial setup of CMap was also easy.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

The areas that could be improved are around block, hourly resource allocations. Specifically, the way a scheduled day (say 7.5 hours typical) is split up. It needs to be by hours rather than by a percentage of a day, which is cumbersome and time-consuming.

CMap supports budget projections, invoice scheduling, and resolving resourcing clashes.

CMap is very useful for seeing when my team is on leave so we can plan ahead accordingly. It is also very useful for seeing how many is used on a project to plan time.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

The only downside which I sometimes find frustrating is timesheets reset unless clicked save. Maybe an autosave feature would be more practical.

Cmap is helping me keep on top of projects to ensure that we do not go over on time and having the ability to see how many hours have been spent on a job.

**What do you like best about CMap?**

It is a comprehensive package, developed for the AEC industry, and widely used. Its functionality, page design, and ease of use are good, and the custom report builder is an excellent feature. Integration with Xero was an important aspect for us.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

There have been one or two minor disappointments, compared to our previous package, but the support from CMap has been excellent in terms of minimizing downsides so the system works well for our approach.

A more comprehensive approach to resourcing and project work stages, and a more extensive integration of finance data with our accounting package Xero.

Easy to use and works well. I think the layout is clear, and it’s reasonably straightforward to understand where to find things.

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

CMap has a few quirks when it comes to entering time. It took me a while to understand how overtime works, and it doesn’t prefill anything unless I copy it over from the previous week.

Time tracking is my number one use. Now that I’ve gotten used to it, it’s very simple to enter and track my time, PTO, and other time off.

I like CMap's user-friendly interface because it makes it easy to deploy and requires minimal training. It's not always flexible, sometimes it can be quite rigid. There's a number of reports which are available but that we're not always aware of, so then spend time trying to create a report which already exists.

I find CMap very beneficial for project and portfolio management because it helps us understand our pipeline and its performance. I appreciate its very easy-to-use interface, which makes things a lot simpler. I also value the reports and the report builder function.

There's so much data in there that I think the reports could be more extensive, particularly from a business management point of view. We do have to export a lot of the data into our own reports.

It’s a brilliant tool for managing multiple projects. The project shortcuts on the dashboard save me hours every day, and make it much quicker to jump between tasks. Being able to add “tags” to contacts also makes it really easy to find connections from specific events or people with particular skill sets.

There isn’t always consistency in whether I need to click Save or press the Return key on the keyboard.

Project tracking is much more efficient now, as it brings everything together in one central, user-friendly system. It also allows us to clearly see resource demand, helping us stay on top of resourcing. The cmap mail feature allows for maintaining a clear paper trail and record.

CMap is very user-friendly and intuitive to use. It’s been a great addition to our company and has integrated easily into our daily work. We used to have separate finance and CRM platforms, but it’s much easier to have everything in one place now. Customer support has been exceptional whenever we’ve needed it—which isn’t often, because the setup and training we received were so thorough.

If I had to choose something, it would be the marketing system. It’s very basic.

I like using CMap for project management, as it consolidates everything we need from fee proposals to invoicing and trend analysis. The time saved on project admin is huge, which lets the leadership team quickly see how the organisation is performing. I really appreciate the dashboard functionality, which empowers the team to see project performance and allows department heads to oversee team progress. The AI functionality is helping to speed up processes too, letting us focus more on delivering quality to our clients. Setting up CMap was very easy, and the guidance and training provided were excellent.

It would be great if the pipeline could have a Kanban dashboard listing each project and where it sits in the pipeline with the ability to drag projects from one stage to another.

**What do you like best about CMap?**

Once set up it's very easy to use, they've thought of pretty much everything (for a consulting business), and they're generally responsive to feedback. 

It's transformed our project operations: regularly getting close to our utilisation figures, keeping close tabs on resourcing so people are working optimally without overload - and it's made everyone's lives measurably better. 

We've (the team has) made a lot of changes to our business, and the improvements are not all down to CMap, but in parallel CMap has been a very important feature because it has helped smooth everything and connect up a series of separate processes, which has yielded tangible efficiencies. 

So, if you do choose to implement CMap it really is worth taking a holistic view of your whole operation and adapting that alongside. Don't just bolt it on and expect magic (though it will still be better than what you have got now!).

**What do you dislike about CMap?**

Take care which onboarding package you choose: explore with them exactly what the different options offer. Ours felt a bit rushed (though the team were excellent - thank you Onai and Julia) and it transpires the bumpy ride was partly because of misunderstanding what we had bought. So I guess they could work a bit harder with their sales comms.

The Fee Estimator template needed a lot of tailoring to fit to our way of doing things and how we cost our work. It's also not really optimised for the tailoring we needed to do, and we've had to use workarounds that makes it a touch less elegant in use. It is nevertheless a fantastic piece of engineering now we have done it, and it makes building our jobs and then resourcing them really granular and accurate. Worth investing the time in building a great fee estimator as we hear other users haven't done this, and perhaps it's one reason they may not get the same benefits we have (this is a guess!). 

There are also a billion and one reports, plus opportunities to customise them, which is all great in theory, but in practice they're hard to use without quite a lot of support. It's hard to know where to start. They have generously offered to do this (thanks again, Julia), but I do wonder if there's more that could be done to hand hold users through literally hundreds of report templates.

Realise these negatives seem longer than the positives: but these are nit-picking details really. 

Buy with confidence: it's a superb and ever-evolving platform, and a must have/gamechanger for any SME consulting business. Just make sure you take your time to understand what you are buying and how best to tailor it to your needs: talk to the Sales team about this, then gear your onboarding, invest time in your team's input and upskilling, and build your version to reflect your way of doing things.

Managing pipeline, costing, resourcing, ongoing project management, invoicing, reporting (financial-->utilisation-->resourcing etc.)
