Brings a lot of project information into one place. The timesheet features are just excellent. Kyle Lawton's onboarding sessions were also excellent. He was knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to explain the platform practically, making it easy to understand the core functionality and how it could be applied within our business. One challenge has been getting everyone to use CMap consistently. We still rely on other tools in parallel, so some information ends up spread across different systems. As a result, I don't think we're making full use of what CMap can do yet. What problems is CMap solving and how is that benefiting you? CMap is helping us bring project information, resource planning, timesheets, and reporting into one place. It gives better visibility of who is working on what, helps identify workload issues, and makes project tracking easier. For me personally, it has made it easier to record time against projects, track where effort is being spent, and understand resource allocation across the business without having to ask multiple people for updates. It is built with a Management Consulting lens which other PSA's are not. The integration with Hubspot and Xero works well for us. It isn’t especially intuitive, and it takes a bit of time to get used to. I’d also like to be able to add the standard reports directly to dashboards, rather than having to build them from scratch. We also experienced some delays during our onboarding process due to backend issues. I would also say there could be a clearer explanation of exact steps that need to be taken and in what order when transferring data across when you are going through setup. I find Cmap very easy to use, and it includes all the features I expect for project and client management. It lets us keep detailed client information, manage project costings, track the team and their availability, handle invoicing and timesheets, and compare proposed versus actual time spent. It would be really helpful to be able to produce costing reports directly to an Excel document, and to have options within the pricing sheet that can be included for reference without being added into the totals. Being able to see the total number of days per activity would also be useful. At the moment, I’m having to do all of this in my own workbook that I create, so I can then add it to the proposal I send to clients. I find it fairly easy to navigate and the UI/UX is much better than similar tools on the market. It looks modern and easy to follow, especially if you've used PSA tools prior. There are continuous improvements and CMap is looking at pulling AI into various aspects of the workflow. Not enough is connected through the various pages. If you update in 1 place it's not always connected, meaning it can cause duplicated efforts. We'd like the ability to have a "duplicate" record option through the system, meaning we could duplicate issues or POs or other specific records that would then cut down on admin time and the project managers would just need to do updates to the duplicated records. Scheduling of invoicing is simple and easy to track. Reporting is simple and the custom reports feature is simple to use and allows bespoke reports to be generated. The dashboards feature allows me to set up simplified dashboards for fee earning staff to allow a snapshot of their position which I can measure them against each other. We would like a monthly projection of externals spend to be provided on a simple report in the same way as invoicing. CMAP is also relatively expensive for the amount of the software we use. Monitoring of cash and invoicing is made exponentially better with CMAP compared with our old system. Project Profitability is also easier to monitor. Task Management and Resourcing features cover the project planning elements, which we have started to run our projects via. I often use the AI to assist with the resourcing and allocation of resourcing. We also use timesheets and holiday features extensively too. Currently the in-ability to export a Task Management plan into an excel sheet to share with external audiences also causes problems when trying to share with customers. The weekly email with updates on progress use project ID and name which can be generic/ repetitive for us and client name would be helpful. I just ignore this email. I don't use the dashboard at the moment and imagine there are ways to customise this to my advantage but have not had the time/ tools to look at how I could do this. Expenses function does not work, would be good to link to invoicing Would be good to have a way to confirm final payments and then be prompted to close the project. That the whole projects life cycle in included in one place from it beginning in the pipeline to it being worked on and finally being completed. It's a really easy place to check how everything is going and other people can see financial information for themselves so they can get any answers they need themselves. For example the invoicing functionality means I can quickly see which projects need invoicing this month plus what is coming up in future and this can be put into our cashflow forecasts. It would be helpful if CMap could link to something like XE.com so I don't have to input exchange rates myself and they can be kept up to date. Also, with the cashflow forecast the probability assigned to each project doesn't necessarily correspond with what we want in the cashflow. We operate on an all or nothing approach. That lots of things that we previously had on various platforms and spreadsheets come together on one platform allowing for easier and more immediate analysis. Some things are not very easy to find as it is not always intuitive. The 'save' functions are in different places for different features which takes time to get used to. Creating bespoke reports is difficult as there is so much to try to understand and navigate when setting it up. Certain people and security setting, as well as cost rates etc need to updated in multiple places which his not obvious or intuitive. Bringing everything related to resourcing, project performance and financial aspects and people performance together into one place. This allows for cross referencing and analysis to help resolve issues. It will eventually save on time (once we all fully know how to confidently use the system). Powerful fee-building tools, resourcing, and reporting capabilities." 4/5 What do you like best about CMap? Three features stand out in CMap. Firstly, the Fee Estimator. This powerful tool gives a lot of funtion and flexibility to pricing jobs. While it can be complex at first, once you wrap your head around it you can save a lot of time not dealing with excel based pricing tools. This also leads into the resourcing, once you have priced a job, the resourcing feature build off the back of your fee estimator and again can save you a lot of time repeating work. These 2 features work well together. Lastly, i'm starting to utilise the reporting and dashboards tools now we are onboarded. Even though they too can be a bit complicated at first, once you understand how they work, they become super helpful, providing lots of insights and value. Another great thing is CMAP's capability to manage our five different entities/ offices. This allows us to do reporting on all of them within the same system, which is incredibly useful. Also, CMAP has significantly reduced the need for paper forms and emails for setting up projects, allowing project managers to directly input details into the system, which has been really useful. I think the invoicing, crediting, expenses, and purchase orders features are kind of complex and they don't offer as much flexibility as previous tools I've used. The invoicing in particular could be improved. There are a few small nuances which at first were really frustrating, nowever now having used the tool for a few months ive got my head around it and can deal with them. Having to set up templates for everything was also a bit of a pain. Better preset templates for would probably help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. With CMap, we can now manage all five of our offices on one single platform, this allows us to do comprehensive reporting across the entire group structure - and streamline processes by reducing emails, the use of excel spreadsheet processes, and word based forms.
