## About CloverDX
CloverDX is the data integration platform that combines engineering-led pipelines, an AI Assistant, and self-service tools for business users. There's no managed SaaS here: you self-host CloverDX on your own terms, on-prem, in your own cloud, or hybrid, so your data and infrastructure stay under your control. CloverDX streamlines the entire ETL lifecycle, from ingestion and processing to delivery and consumption, enhancing productivity and fostering trust in data. The platform is used by organizations of all sizes, helping companies optimize and orchestrate their data workflows, reduce manual work and errors, and ensure compliance with data governance standards. Data engineers and technical users build and automate pipelines in a visual + code interface, backed by an AI Assistant that plans, builds, tests, and documents pipelines from a spec, sample data, or a natural-language prompt. Every step it generates stays visible and editable, so engineers stay in control while spending less time on boilerplate and more time on architecture and review. Business users get their own Wrangler Assistant, describing what they need in plain language and getting back transparent, editable transformation steps, so they can take on data quality, data prep, and master data management tasks without needing IT intervention. This frees up technical resources across the board. CloverDX supports a wide range of data sources and formats, enabling users to ingest data from various systems. Robust transformation capabilities allow users to clean, enrich, and manipulate data to meet specific business requirements, including using AI directly within pipelines to classify, extract, anonymize, or summarize data. Every AI capability runs on a bring your own key (BYOK) or bring your own model (BYOM) basis: connect your own account with Anthropic, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or Google, or run models entirely on your own infrastructure for data that never leaves your environment. There's no CloverDX-run AI service in the middle, so you stay in control of the provider, the cost, and what data gets shared. CloverDX also offers advanced automation features, including AI-assisted monitoring and diagnostics that flag issues before they become problems, minimizing manual intervention and reducing the risk of errors. CloverDX helps maintain data integrity and accountability throughout the data lifecycle, with full version control and audit trails. Users can track changes and access historical data versions, ensuring they can rely on the accuracy of data at all times. Governance always comes first: admins can set organization-wide guardrails on what data reaches an AI provider, or disable external AI sharing entirely for regulated environments. CloverDX is a versatile, flexible data integration solution that addresses the needs of both technical and non-technical users. By combining self-hosted deployment freedom, AI-powered productivity, robust processing capabilities, and a user-friendly interface, it empowers organizations to manage their data more effectively, ultimately leading to better insights, enhanced collaboration and alignment, and improved business outcomes.

 ### 3. Good for simple to medium complexity

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2023

**What do you like best about CloverDX?**

CloverDX has good visualisation of processes, good range of operations for standard ETL work, and has the ability to use Java libraries - so basically the ability to add anything that is missing.

**What do you dislike about CloverDX?**

The interface is built on Eclipse and it's looking pretty dated. Because of this it doesn't always follow hotkey standards (for example tabbing doesn't work how you'd expect).

The colour customisation is poor. Setting it to dark mode on Mac leads to dark backgrounds AND dark text - so there's not enough contrast to read anything. We cannot find a setting to fix this.

**What problems is CloverDX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Definitely allows for better visualisation of processes than code alone. Allows us to build standard processes which all our users can then pick up and work on as required.

 ### 4. Awesome Data Platform

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2023

**What do you like best about CloverDX?**

It's not bad for smaller implementations where scope is limited. For larger builds it's not worth the squeeze.

**What do you dislike about CloverDX?**

Takes a while to customize or configure. Especially when customers have 5-10 addresses or when we have a bunch of Business Entity Contact Records.

**What problems is CloverDX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

N/a. I was able to solution all conversion issues or data mapping through EIB's in excel.

CloverDX is easy to use, it's flexible, and it offers many ways to utilize time-saving procedures. Reasonable costs, great ROI, and a great support team.

**What do you dislike about CloverDX?**

Previously we had a "lifetime" license, which changed to a subscription model. Fortunately we have a great account manager that helped us through that.

**What problems is CloverDX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have complex SQL changes in one of our production platforms, this tool helps to automate those changes and ensure changes are complete and consistent.

 ### 9. Does the job, mostly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2022

**What do you like best about CloverDX?**

CloverDX allows data analysts to develop and productionise data pipelines with ease. Scheduling and error tracking is built in. The alternative without Clover is to have data engineers deploy the pipelines onto cloud infrastructure, which requires a longer time investment.

**What do you dislike about CloverDX?**

The software does take some time to learn. We found that team members who had prior technical experience had much better success at being onboarded with the software.

**What problems is CloverDX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CloverDX allows us to productionise light-weight data pipelines with the help of our data analytics team. No infrastructure work is required.

 ### 13. CloverDX data transformations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neil M. | Data Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2022

**What do you like best about CloverDX?**

CloverDX is a powerful data manipulation tool but is very easy to use and understand how to get the best from it.

**What do you dislike about CloverDX?**

We have not found anything that has caused us an issue with the product.

**Recommendations to others considering CloverDX:**

I can only say that it has been a pleasure working with CloverDX and we have had no issues.

**What problems is CloverDX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our initial use case was as a Data Anonymization tool to allow us to generate test data. However, we quickly realized the scope of the toolset and are now using it to allow us to transform data in data migration exercises and are moving to use it as our main data quality engine.

 ### 14. Great Integration Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin H. | Application Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2022

**What do you like best about CloverDX?**

Its use cases are almost limitless. It can handle almost any type of data integration you can need to automate.

**What do you dislike about CloverDX?**

The one feature enhancement I have requested is a native connector for Google sheets. This can be done by building out the process using existing components but could be simplified, especially for new users.

**What problems is CloverDX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The most exciting thing it has solved for me is user-initiated ad-hoc reporting. Via the Data Apps functionality, we can provide even more complex reports that the user can request any time they want.

 ### 15. It is very user friendly.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2022

**What do you like best about CloverDX?**

Allows you to use a variety of different tools to transform and validate to ensure accurate data is produced as an end result.

**What do you dislike about CloverDX?**

More up-to-date help portal may help in answering some questions.

**Recommendations to others considering CloverDX:**

Initial training videos are helpful in getting familiar with the necessary tools needed.

**What problems is CloverDX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to consolidate our datasets in order to produce high-quality and accurate results.

 ### 16. Clover is an easy tool to use and a lot of possibilities

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay N. | Professional Data Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2021

**What do you like best about CloverDX?**

I like the ability to affect/edit every record with the same/similar logic, transform the data, and then either load it to an application or send it as a report or valid json (which the system does for me).

**What do you dislike about CloverDX?**

3 things:
1. Clover will freeze and Not respond as I am using the application
2. The error messages are most of the time but not always descriptive
3. I wish there was better documentation that is more business-like or not as technical. Even though most documentation is technical in a technical industry, I think it would give Clover a leg up against the competition.

**What problems is CloverDX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to send a valid payload to an API after the data has been transformed, retrieve possible options for a particular variable in the client DB, pull data from a DB and send a report to a valid distribution list, input excel file(s) which the client has updated and load the data to a central application to avoid having the client update every single field online, etc...

 ### 17. High performance pipeline

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oleg D. | Manager - Assurance Digital, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2021

**What do you like best about CloverDX?**

Scalability through the cluster to increase performance.
Very detailed monitoring options to find bottlenecks.
The simplicity of building jobs / graphs via the Designer GUI.
Parallelism increasing throughput via various components.
Integration with MS SQL and other databases, supporting Query language.
Powerful CTL language for maximum customization.
Regular updates through new releases.

**What do you dislike about CloverDX?**

Shifted mindset when working with metadata, especially in dynamic environments.
JAVA and all that is involved (i.e. complex configuration settings, compiler logs, debugging).
Missing support to access SAP ERP directly.

**What problems is CloverDX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Classic ETL approach involving data reading, manipulation and writing to a target database with high performance. Using the REST API to trigger automation from a web application directly without the need to interact with the Clover Server directly. Making use of event listeners for more automation inbetween different jobflows. Powerful script component helps with further customization and use of third-party tools (i.e. unzip, .xml conversion etc.)

 ### 18. SQL Interface with XML input

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about CloverDX?**

Super helpful team that really made a difference in our customer journey.

**What do you dislike about CloverDX?**

There was a change in company policy that no longer allows for selling a single designer license. As a consequence, this can significantly increase the license fee.

**What problems is CloverDX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Super functional solution to load on a controlled way my SQL database.
CTL2 programming language was also super easy to learn.

 ### 19. Rapid automation of routine activites

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2021

**What do you like best about CloverDX?**

Concept of diagrams and features which makes development fast

**What do you dislike about CloverDX?**

Price of solution. But I understand that the development and support of such a tool is expensive and the benefits of CloverDX are in ratio to price

**What problems is CloverDX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automation of migration scripts, routine activities of Financial analysts. Benefits are time-saving and better data

 ### 20. DB connections and debug issues

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2020

**What do you like best about CloverDX?**

It does get the work done with the given components.

**What do you dislike about CloverDX?**

The database connections used by each component or subgraph can be managed better. Too many database connections used by a graph.

**Recommendations to others considering CloverDX:**

Easy to use, great support option.

**What problems is CloverDX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ETL data processing. Getting the work done.

 ### 21. I have one year experience for using CloverDX for ETL purposes

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Denis M. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2019

**What do you like best about CloverDX?**

Different data format support. Very fast implementation and customization for ETL needs. Very suitable to test.

**What do you dislike about CloverDX?**

Less flexible in comparison with traditional language (Like Python) especially if transformation rules become more complicated. Don't support some data types like list of list.

**What problems is CloverDX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use CloverDX for ETL purposes. The most important benefit which we have is veery fast implementation new pipelines for new purposes. Also the CloverServer is quite suitable for administration and job orchestration purposes.

 ### 22. Extremely Adaptable Data Pipelining Tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harvard P. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2019

**What do you like best about CloverDX?**

I've managed software development projects for ETL tools and have used or evaluated a number of them. I've been continually impressed with the ease of use and tooling capabilities of CloverDX. Though CloverDX isn't a specialized tool for Healthcare, the ability of the out of box components along with the ability to extend its usage through custom Java components makes it a great tool for any data pipelining task.

**What do you dislike about CloverDX?**

I really liked the fact that CloverETL was an open source product and that it had a community edition before that people could use to try it out. That option is unfortunately, no longer available.

**What problems is CloverDX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Healthcare data is extremely messy, and the points of integration can be difficult to manage. Our company had previously written custom scripts when implementing a particular customer. As we grew, this was not a very pragmatic approach and we needed a tool to help us manage these types of tasks in a systematic fashion. CloverDX allowed us to define these data flows easily and in a graphical fashion. The scheduling tool for CloverDX Server made it dead simple to deploy these graphs into a production environment. Overall, we couldn't be happier with the speed with which we could now deploy for our customers.
