A working product for POS systems, just be aware of costs and do your research! **Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Director C. | Executive Director, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2026 **What do you like best about Clover?** Clover is a functional POS system, with lots of opportunities for unique add-ons built by clover and third party developers. **What do you dislike about Clover?** The add-ons typically cost money, such as more quality reporting, a round-up feature, and other things. And yet, not all of these add-ons end up working for every system, so you have to pay for it and check it out for a month before you know if its helpful and worth the cost. Clover's fee structure is misleading, as you end up being charged different rates for each credit card company, and some super high rates really affect a tourism business like ours. **What problems is Clover solving and how is that benefiting you?** Managing Inventory, Tracking sales and transactions, Low-level sales and inventory reporting. ### 2. It makes things difficult. **What problems is Clover solving and how is that benefiting you?** It provides POS funtionality that is helpful in running my business. That speeds up the process of waiting on customers. ### 3. Hidden fee's cause customer issues **Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2019 **What do you like best about Clover?** They are normally willing to work with you on refunds and they are willing to make it right with the customer the majority of the time. The backend was easy to integrate with our online software. The end user never knew BluePay was involved, which is exactly what we and our clients wanted. **What do you dislike about Clover?** I do not like the fee's that they charge customers. Many customers are unaware of these fee's and will cause us demanding answers. It is tough to say what fee is being charged, so we normally have to contact BluePay ourselves to figure it out and then report back to the customer. Some of the fee's they charged included PCI Compliance, chargeback's, incorrect back information, lack of funds in the user's account, statement fee, and a higher percentage for AMEX just to name a few. **Recommendations to others considering Clover:** Look at other options as well. BluePay is great, but the fee's will become your main issue when interacting with clients. It seems like some of the fee's are hidden and are hard to find out about. Consider looking at a platform that is a little more open and honest about their pricing structures. **What problems is Clover solving and how is that benefiting you?** They are a merchant who can process transactions and that was something we could not offer. Their backend system is a bit tricky to manage, but you can usually figure out some things from it. Again, we normally have to call or email their support team to figure out what is going on with specific client accounts. ### 4. It's better than the Sintel system I had prior. **What do you dislike about Clover?** Customer support is difficult and lacking. It has web browsing capabilities but will not work with Google drive or properly load Gmail even through their tech support uses a Gmail account. I understand it's a tablet - but I have those functions on my iPad, Samsung and Surface tablets. Credit card reader/pin pad is temperamental with chips. If they insert too soon it tells them to remove it - causing confusion to the customer, if they remove it too soon it locks up the pinpad. It requires customer to leave the card in the reader and does not make a loud enough noise when customers forget their card - this has led to a lot of forgotten credit cards. They'll occasionally update the software causing changes to functionality without giving me notice, mostly moving the location of payment method buttons, this leads to confusion and mistakes in ringing customers. There's no simple way to correct a payment mistake. Customer database could be more user friendly. Gift card processing through the station is expensive. I'd like an easier way to track sales by the hour without paying for a 3rd party app. **What problems is Clover solving and how is that benefiting you?** Basic functionality in ringing up customers. There's a benefit in being able to see my sales numbers remotely through the app ### 5. BluePay Review from a Customer Experience Rep **Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2016 **What do you like best about Clover?** BluePay as a payment processor does a fine job of processing payments quickly and efficiently. **What do you dislike about Clover?** The communication with BluePay employees isn't consistent. It can be great one day and then you may not get a response for a few weeks. I also think their processing fees and hidden fees are a big pain point with customers. **Recommendations to others considering Clover:** Research, research, research, and review similar products - comparing pricing, structure, and the fine print rules. **What problems is Clover solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are working with clients to have an easy way for donors to give to their non-profit organizations. We have realized that for most customers who don't dig deep into the transactions/pricing/timing BluePay might be a fine option, but for most I think they could do better elsewhere. ### 6.
