Continued support has been very good and they have been very forthcoming with any information we requested. We make use of Zesty's dashboards pretty regularly as well and also make good use of the metrics they provide us directly. Getting this integrated into our AWS accounts was also a breeze. Cost savings are very good with this platform and nothing needs to be done after onboarding is complete, it's set and forget. **What do you dislike about Zesty?** Their dashboards could use a bit more work, providing more granular views, maybe even breaking down resources that could be totally removed. Perhaps an expansion on the tool to provide something relevant to Kubernetes cost cutting would be nice too like some competitors have. **What problems is Zesty solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have an excess of EC2 instances that we don't cover with our own savings plans or reserved instances and Zesty has helped a lot to manage that excess cost and reduce it by a very good amount. It's helping us cut down on costs we'd otherwise be losing money on. ### 2. Additionally, their Slack support is very responsive and gives us valuable advice that helps us make informed decisions. **What do you dislike about Zesty?** At this point, there's nothing negative to mention about the product and service. The Customer Success agents - ours is Rommi - are very quick to adapt to your company's needs, be it scaling up/down in existing or new regions. Put simply, even with the 25% cut, if there was a button in any AWS service that you could click to save 60+%, you would click it instantly. It is also very easy to expand with new accounts. The dashboard is pretty fantastic and brings more value than we initially expected by showing unused resources and even some bad practices. Staff is super nice and helpful and is proactive when things ever do go wrong. The pricing model is absolutely awesome and should be a no brainer for any budgeting department. **What do you dislike about Zesty?** The dashboard has a few corners that are a bit too WIP, but never anything that is a deal breaker. Account onboarding is a bit clumsy when not using cloudformation, but completely acceptable. For example, the "unused resources" section does not properly explain why resources are considered unused. **What problems is Zesty solving and how is that benefiting you?** Zesty completely takes over RI purchasing and re-sells them when not needed, resulting in much higher savings than through a savings plan. This removes a lot of manual work and does a better job at the same time. ### 17. It provides efficient reshuffling in which, for shrinking the filesystem, it automatically finds the ideal period to perform this filesystem optimization activity. This is done by automatically merging volumes for workload capacity management. **What do you dislike about Zesty?** Zesty evaluates the filesystem usage utilization through its read/write metrics and automatically shrinks the EBS disk by detaching volumes for optimizing unused capacity. Hence our storage cost is effectively reduced by Zetsy, and I have no issues using it for optimizing EBS volumes attached to our AWS EC2 instances. **What problems is Zesty solving and how is that benefiting you?** Forecasting of the required storage capacity is a concern for our organization in the AWS platform, and Zesty uses predictive algorithms for the gradual expansion of storage for our SDAN EC2 instances. Zesty agents have a dedicated one-way communication channel through which it operates filesystem utilization metrics with HTTPS. For avoiding service degradation and EBS failure, it continuously monitors & ensures high availability and performance. For our production environment, we utilize Zesty's manual BTRFS feature in which an approval request is sent to our client whenever there is a requirement to merge or detach EBS volume. ### 21. When I first got the cold call from them, I thought this is too good to be true; there has to be a catch. I did several reference checks and all said it was great with no downside, so I pitched it to the board. Because we work with HIPAA data, it took several weeks to clear legal and validate all of the permission sets they would be using. In the end, they are doing exactly what they committed to doing, saving us money each month. With the permissions they have, there is no access to HIPAA data or systems, so it is 100% secure and safe on that front. Additionally, their reporting system is easy to navigate and find where your costs are coming from. In my case, we were able to locate 200TB+ of S3 storage that was lost in the subfolders that we were able to delete and save $1500 each month with no cost from them as that is just part of the included reporting module. Setup and onboarding was a breeze and exactly as advertised. If they don't save you money your don't pay anything. **What do you dislike about Zesty?** I wish there were additional options to export the graphical reports and slice them differently. They are constantly adding to the reporting, so I am sure it will be there soon. Because we are mostly a Windows shop with MS SQL Enterprise being 40% of our spend, our EC2 savings is a bit lower than some of their other clients; however, we are still seeing around 35% savings on average. **Recommendations to others considering Zesty:** Just do it, they are a great company.
