The client service which is very reactive. I love that they integrated their new Cloudbees CI in the Kubernetes environment. I also love the shared libraries feature, which permits to have a common code base of groovy functions for all Cloudbees CI users in the organization. Indeed, this feature permits to push development standards in the organization. I also love the fact that you can create Jenkins Team masters for development teams. It gives them more autonomy on settings in their Team. Cloudbees CI also permits developers to have a "click to deploy" pipeline. It also helps developers to be more autonomous about their Product life cycle. **What do you dislike about CloudBees?** The Graphical User interface is very poor, the outdated plugins. Sometimes, the logs are very hard to find. For example, when you have a problem of a Kubernetes pod which doesn't want Another thing I don't like about Cloudbees CI is the fact that it is so hard to debug pipelines : sometimes, the stack trace in the console output is really hard to interpret and has merely nothing in link to the real issue that is occuring. I don't like the fact that there are no APIs exposed which we can use to trigger Cloudbees CI actions. I also don't like the documentation on installing Cloudbees CI in the cloud. It requires to install it with Helm whereas another installation is possible by just using Kubernetes Objects Yaml Templates. **Recommendations to others considering CloudBees:** You should definitely give Tekton a try. Indeed it is great to use in a Kubernetes context. **What problems is CloudBees solving and how is that benefiting you?** Creating standard pipelines for java, python and Node JS which build code and deploy on VM or containers using Ansible or Kubernetes. ### 2. It comes up with pre configured templates and policies with automate and manage complex tasks. It will allow you to manage more Jenkin instances which can be done using less compute and effort. We also used a lot of inbuilt plugin which CloudBees CI comes by default. It has capability of Pipeline checkpoints in it which allow quick identification of issues in an ongoing pipeline operation. **What do you dislike about CloudBees?** I found CloudBees CI is having a powerful framework but comes with a similar dashboard as Jenkins. It can be improved further and also it is quite expensive for a small organization. Hence, pricing and license model can be further improved and more plugins with AWS can be created for managing complex builds. **Recommendations to others considering CloudBees:** We had a great experience for deploying our application from Git to AWS environment. It is very easy to configure with PCF and Cloud Foundry. Scalable operations can be performed and I never faced any lagging or operation flaws. **What problems is CloudBees solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helped us to quickly migrate our Legacy application to go live. It saved us a lot of human efforts and with a small team we were able to manage and scale up quickly. We were able to create quick policies which were enforced across our Development Team. Separation of modules were easy and best suited for a complex Microservice architecture. Overall we were able to bring all the teams automation operation at a single place and helped us to save cost. ### 6. Our previous engine didn't allow this and when we needed to introduce a change to the delivery process, we had to update hundreds of pipelines manually. This goes away with Shared libraries. **What do you dislike about CloudBees?** Maintenance burden is a hell. You need an engineer full time to keep an eye on updates of the products, updates of the plugins, making sure all the used plugins are still compatible (in case they fall into community tier), and all the setup and maintenance that comes with a product that you host yourself (infrastructure maintenance and updates, pagerduty setup, proper guidelines for support of internal teams using the product...etc). **Recommendations to others considering CloudBees:** If you consider purchasing CloudBees yourself, make sure you have enough capacity to carry on the related maintenance burden. Also that the team has enough experience with the underlying infrastructure. If not, rather look at SaaS solutions like Jfrog Pipelines or CircleCI. **What problems is CloudBees solving and how is that benefiting you?** At the moment, we have problems with underlying kubernetes infrastructure - we're still tuning what is the right memory setup, number of pods per team, what their size should be, etc. Also, there are some plugins (proprietary, developed by CloudBees), which has bugs that make them impossible to use in larger scale. Usually their support is quite helpful, but sometimes, they will tell you - this is infrastructure, you need to deal with it yourself. Which sometimes is true, but sometimes would be nice to provide couple of hints or articles about how to do that, especially if you don't have years of experience with kubernetes, docker and AWS EKS (this is our setup). The benefit of using CloudBees compare to using Jenkins for sure is the Operations Center which allow nice Cluster management (restarts and updates of all the connected masters at once). On the down side, even though are masters (the ones that execute the actual jobs) are the same, they behave quite stochastic and require large deal of troubleshooting during maintenance windows (sometimes they bet stuck at unready status, sometimes they time out on attaching persistent volumes...etc). ### 7. Each new iteration was better than the last. The old license model was based on the number of masters and agents which was extremely limiting. We had 2 masters and 10 executors shared across them. Near the release date, the system became extremely busy which lead to increases in build times due to waiting. The main benefit of CloudBees CI is infinite master and agent scaling due to the change in license structure. This allows many teams to use and manage their own system. Since each master connects to the operations center, onboarding time is decreased since the new masters can reuse existing configurations provided by the operations center. **What do you dislike about CloudBees?** So far there are not many downsides to using CloudBees CI. It seems like the user based licensing is slightly more expensive. Also managing or paying for Kubernetes infrastructure can be costly but this is where most of the scalability of the platform comes from. **Recommendations to others considering CloudBees:** CloudBees CI offers many integrations which makes it useful. Consider the cost of migrating and using more of the plugins versus a scripted approach. **What problems is CloudBees solving and how is that benefiting you?** CloudBees CI allows us to unify the Jenkins infrastructure that many of our teams use. Instead of each team running their own open source master and agents they can now take advantage of the features of CloudBees CI. It is a Jenkins with more Jenkins in it (literally, in the case of the master-of-masters). And the installation leaves you with a really nicely prepared instance, including a Kubernetes agent cloud - although the Jenkins Kubernetes Operator is catching up to some degree there. **What do you dislike about CloudBees?** Not much to dislike other than the pricing ;-) **What problems is CloudBees solving and how is that benefiting you?** Maybe the biggest benefit is the ease of creating new Jenkins masters for new teams, while centralizing config in the master-of-masters, for whatever you want to control globally. Best features which CloudBees CI offers is different level of Pipeline security and feasible way of securing with different policies. It helped us to deploy a very difficult and Microservice to market in such a short span. It also provide simple and quick team onboarding process with different access-controls, also the best part was its architecture which runs on Cloud and inside a Kubernetes namespace. It has got a rich integration feature with AWS, Azure and GCP. If you want to leverage all the features of Docker and Kubernetes container, then you must have CloudBees CI as your ultimate choice. **What do you dislike about CloudBees?** I found the License quite expensive as we were migrating from Atlassian stack and found that per user access is quite high. Although, it offers on-cloud service, at times you will face issue with Deployment and downtimes are frequent. If your pipeline is poorly designed, then you might have to wait for a longer execution, which leads to delay in Deployment. **Recommendations to others considering CloudBees:** Its a perfect choice and i would say next generation Jenkins CI/CD for complex projects and best suited for Microservice projects. **What problems is CloudBees solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were creating a complex Telecom product and we wanted to have a next-generation CI/CD platform which will offer us Security and Access Control feature to the Devops team. Also, we wanted to enhance cross-pipeline collaboration which offers multiple team to deploy changes at once. CloudBees CI is a complete package for your CI/CD activities and best option for highly operational Devops Team. It becomes easy to integarte with other SaaS products with the CloudBees CI(Core). But I may ask someone for a fast answer in case I have a request. Most importantly the Pipeline plugin with shared libraries makes builds configuration management quite manageable. With a mix of declarative and scripted pipeline, we can create some really complex pipelines that make use of several other plugins and still be able to manage them, source control them and share with ease. The ability to add custom plugins is great to be able to cater some personalized solutions. **What do you dislike about CloudBees?** The UI lacks visual appeal, and editing pipeline configurations from the UI is still not easy and even possible in some cases. Blue Ocean is a nice visualization of the pipeline but it lacks many custom features and is not as easy to use as projected. Multiple pipeline builds running on the server makes memory management bit of an issue. Not many customization options for user profile. Needs to be updated for modern color scheme and design. **Recommendations to others considering CloudBees:** It can really scale for multiple projects and the use of Pipeline suite of plugins makes it very manageable and shareable with others that can review the configuration changes and also run unit tests on them. The option to add nodes and remove nodes easily without having to license any on majority of the OSes out there is a huge plus. **What problems is CloudBees solving and how is that benefiting you?** Managing multiple build configurations using the Pipeline plugin, the benefit of Pipelines coupled with shared libraries is immense. The multi-branch pipeline plugin allows us to create multiple jobs for different branches with a click. Combined use of declarative and scripted pipeline helps us share build configurations easily with only as much information needed to be shared.
