**What do you like best about Cloud-Delivered Security Services?**

What I like best about Palo Alto Networks Threat Prevention is how it keeps our computers and networks safe from bad things like viruses and hackers. It works quickly to stop these threats before they can harm our systems. Plus, it's easy to use and gives us peace of mind knowing our information is protected.

**What do you dislike about Cloud-Delivered Security Services?**

The thing which can be a bit frustrating is that sometimes it might block websites or applications that we actually want to use because it thinks they're a threat. Palo Alto Networks Threat Prevention solves several problems for us:

Cyber Threat Protection: It protects our network from various cyber threats like malware, ransomware, and phishing attacks, which helps prevent data breaches and system compromises.

**What do you like best about Cloud-Delivered Security Services?**

WildFire utilizes near real-time analysis to detect previously unseen, targeted malware and advanced persistent threats, keeping your organization protected.
WildFire combines machine learning, dynamic and static analysis, and a custom-built analysis environment to discover even the most sophisticated threats across multiple stages and attack vectors.
Unlike other solutions, WildFire can follow several stages of an attack, unifying analysis across both web and file vectors to prevent multi-stage threat
Available globally to meet strict data residency and compliance needs, WildFire can be consumed as a public service as well as deployed in hybrid and air-gapped environments.

**What do you dislike about Cloud-Delivered Security Services?**

Technical indicators are identified such as file names, hashes, strings such as IP addresses, domains, and file header data can be used to determine whether that file is malicious. In addition, tools like disassemblers and network analyzers can be used to observe the malware without actually running it in order to collect information on how the malware works. However, since static analysis does not actually run the code, sophisticated malware can include malicious runtime behavior that can go undetected. For example, if a file generates a string that then downloads a malicious file based upon the dynamic string, it could go undetected by a basic static analysis. Enterprises have turned to dynamic analysis for a more complete understanding of the behavior of the file.

**What problems is Cloud-Delivered Security Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dynamic malware analysis executes suspected malicious code in a safe environment called a sandbox. This closed system enables security professionals to watch the malware in action without the risk of letting it infect their system or escape into the enterprise network.

Dynamic analysis provides threat hunters and incident responders with deeper visibility, allowing them to uncover the true nature of a threat. As a secondary benefit, automated sandboxing eliminates the time it would take to reverse engineer a file to discover the malicious code.

The challenge with dynamic analysis is that adversaries are smart, and they know sandboxes are out there, so they have become very good at detecting them. To deceive a sandbox, adversaries hide code inside them that may remain dormant until certain conditions are met. Only then does the code run.

Hybrid Analysis (includes both of the techniques above)
Basic static analysis isn’t a reliable way to detect sophisticated malicious code, and sophisticated malware can sometimes hide from the presence of sandbox technology. By combining basic and dynamic analysis techniques, hybrid analysis provide security team the best of both approaches –primarily because it can detect malicious code that is trying to hide, and then can extract many more indicators of compromise (IOCs)by statically and previously unseen code. Hybrid analysis helps detect unknown threats, even those from the most sophisticated malware.

For example, one of the things hybrid analysis does is apply static analysis to data generated by behavioral analysis – like when a piece of malicious code runs and generates some changes in memory. Dynamic analysis would detect that, and analysts would be alerted to circle back and perform basic static analysis on that memory dump. As a result, more IOCs would be generated and zero-day exploits would be exposed.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Talha A. | Senior Cloud & Security Engineer | Deputy Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Cloud-Delivered Security Services?**

Palo Alto provides almost all features of security in a box with its best engineering and countermeasure techniques. Which also provides the easiest way of using WebUI.
It keeps the updated list of malecious and phishing domains in terms of enforcemnet of policy to all the palo alto devices in an efficient manner within the certain amount of time configured by the administrator. Right now Palo Alto is reaching the required limit of security.

**What do you dislike about Cloud-Delivered Security Services?**

Although it provides the easiest and user-friendly web user interface, sometimes it asks too many questions to configure the complex countermeasures. Sometimes it does not give the required perimeters on the same window. We all know the linux is highly customizeable OS and we can customize in every manner so its hard to configure for a guy to palo alto when any customization is required.

**Recommendations to others considering Cloud-Delivered Security Services:**

Palo Alto is a pioneer and could efficiently protect the network and system till the application layer. DNS security is also the main feature of Palo Alto, which provides security against malicious domains and many other factors.

**What problems is Cloud-Delivered Security Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Palo Alto provides security against DNS Amplification attacks. However, recursive queries directly fall into UDP, and it is easy for an attacker to spoof the source IP, but Palo Alto's DNS security feature could block this kind of DDoS Attack. Using DNS sec of Palo Alto we also controlled the spam emails and phishing emails in terms of email security. DNs sec also provides the protection against DNS-based threats, including those that depends on other frequently changing dns hosted domains, newly registered domains, and phishing domains behind the c2, or CDN based or non cdn based redirectors. It also provides the security against exfiltration over the DNS protocols.

**What do you like best about Cloud-Delivered Security Services?**

Palo Alto Network's Wildfire is a threat intel cloud and a sandboxing solution by Palo Alto Networks. The best part of it is cloud-based and zero management is required and it has documented SLA of 5 minutes.

**What do you dislike about Cloud-Delivered Security Services?**

Palo Alto Network's Wildfire is a strong tool but does not have an open API or we can say it does not integrate with other vendors and solutions. Also, if a file is classified as a malware, which can be a false positive, it is a lengthy process to whitelist or approve that file.

**Recommendations to others considering Cloud-Delivered Security Services:**

If you have Palo Alto Network's NGFW already deployed in your organization, you must definitely add this subscription, as this will help you stop unknown threats from passing through your network.

**What problems is Cloud-Delivered Security Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Wildfire integrated with our firewall, we have now a sandbox ad an APT solution deployed in our organization.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Cloud-Delivered Security Services?**

What I like about using Palo Alto for URL filtering is the fact that when you submit a change for a website to be placed in a different category, they are very quick to respond whether they believe your recommendation should be validated or denied.

**What do you dislike about Cloud-Delivered Security Services?**

What I dislike about Palo Alto for URL filtering is that when you do submit a chance for a different category, and it is denied, there is no reason why. Also, that it seems they dont look at the website in question and its obvious that the category should change, but it still gets denied the change.

**Recommendations to others considering Cloud-Delivered Security Services:**

Verify the websites being submitted for change, that the change is valid and accurate to its request.

**What problems is Cloud-Delivered Security Services solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving issues with websites that are safe for school use being blocked by PA because the website is listed as not having a category, but when we request a change of category to usually education, it gets changed fairly quickly then our district can access those websites.

Wildfire gives the ability to retro, and real-time, blllllock threats as they traverse your network infrastructure. Wildfire has 0-trust and if it doesn't know what the file does, it forwards the file up to the WildFire cloud and actively inspects the traffic for malicious capabilities.
